Went to celebrate our friends getting married. Had a fantastic dinner. Between the four of us we sampled the appetizers, had a filet, sea bass and salmon. All were great!
As Always Great Meal. Good menu, no wait. Reservations accepted.
Our server was Deborah and she attended to our every need.
She was attentive, but not bothersome.
Our server Deborah H. was cordial and hospitable, observant and attentive.
Seared Scallops were perfectly prepared, Crab Cakes definitely had too much filler, couldn't taste the crab meat at all, Mushroom Ravioli totally distracted by the tomato sauce.
Soup of the Day Clam Chowder was not bad except for the over abundance of potatoes.
Beef Filet was good, as well as the Whipped Potatoes and Pan Flashed Mushrooms, but the Berkshire Pork Chop was overcooked, the meat was on the dry side.
Great food and service as always, a real treat when we go to Windsor, with great value and atmosphere for a night out
This was not our first visit nor will it be our last. We try to celebrate all special occasions- birthdays and anniversarys here. The food is always perfectly prepared and the staff is always helpful with suggestions that guide us to dishes that will work with our dietary issues. For us to come to Nero's it is a five hour drive so you know they are great. Quality of the food, value for what you get, setting, ambiance and an awesome hotel on site so you can park, relax, dine and enjoy a celebratory drink without risk of driving impaired. There is also a complimentary fitness centre for the use of all hotel guests(in case you need to work off a few calories from their awesome desserts)
Excellent restaurant, one of the nicest I have ever been in.
Excellent food and service. Our favourite place to eat in Windsor.
There were four of us at the table. The Salmon Dinners were very dry and we should of sent them back and we didn't. The Filet Dinners One was medium and dry and sent back and it was supposed to be medium rare and the new was was good. The other steak dinner was also dry. Overall We were very disappointed. Its the first time in all the many visits there that we had any issues. Very disappointed.
The service was very good at Nero's, but for a steak house there were a few shortcomings. We had dinner on a Sunday evening (6pm reservation) and they were out of Prime Rib. Three out of 4 dinners were a little over cooked- we ordered most medium rare and they were more on the medium side (mostly pink, no red). The lamb was ordered rare to medium rare and also came out closer to medium. Not what we would expect for a steak house. The side dishes were good and the portions were large enough to share with the table (4 guests). The restaurant is pretty pricey too especially with all sides being ala carte. We knew this going in so were prepared.
Wonderful ambiance. Loved the big cushy cushy chairs for seating. Escargot was amazing. My husband and I had the rib eye and it was absolutely fabulous. The selection of side dishes was vast. We ordered the cauliflower and the glazed carrots. Both were delicious and as our server advised us, each dish was a large enough portion size easily shared by two. Everything was exceptional and we would definitely list it on the top of our list for future special family dinner.
Food was so so, but our server Pete was awesome!! Wine list was over priced but great selection.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 13,2018...We celebrated my husband’s 75th birthday Saturday at Nero’s...6 people. Around noon 2 more people were able to attend. I called and left two messages about the addition. I did not receive a return call which the message said I would receive. We drove over 1 hour to hear they were unable to vltanswer the messages because they did not have time. That is not a great response to a customer...they could not put 2 more chairs where we had reserved to sit with a river view...we don’t squeeze our customers in I was told...that’s not very accommodating...I would squeeze 2 more people in at my home....had I received a response to my call telling me they could not accommodate I would have cancelled...we were offered the wine room but were told we had to be out by 7:30 for another party...we took it because all of our party was there and some had driven longer than we had...made the evening rushed and stressful...certainly affected the mood of the 75th celebration...I do not blame the messengers...it all could have been avoided with a return phone call in a timely manner...approximately $1000 at our table was paid, for an evening that we had so looked forward to and were so disappointed in. We were not even offered a complimentary desert or glass of wine for the inconvenience.
Service was great! Food mediocre. Could have been our selections...
my daughter and I were greeted with friendly hosts. We were seated by window facing the water. The service was exceptional. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and well presented.
Had a nice meal for my birthday with my wife.
Nice peaceful atmosphere and good food.
Great food, great service and Peter our waiter was great. Well done!
Very private and quiet setting despite many other diners present. We could actually converse across the table without yelling and screaming. Beats that K Restaurant hands down! Very enjoyable!
Everything was very good, but my steak was slightly overcooked this time.
On previous visits the steaks have been just perfect.
There needs to be a petite filet option for smaller appetites. The menu is heavy on seafood and I always order a chicken dish. The sides were not very creative for such a pricey menu. I expected more of the carrot/zucchini dish but it was tasteless. The mash potatoes were bland.
Overall it was good. Always come to Nero when at the casino. Crab cakes were a bit disappointing. Lobster dish was okay. When going to a steak house I would stick with a steak and sides.
Milan was our waiter and he was great. Food was cooked perfect. It was our anniversary and Milan got us a dessert to share. Will be coming back.
Outstanding evening .We will visit many times in the future
Great food/service/ambience! What more could you ask for!
Wednesday night steak n seafood special was excellent.
Normally our meals are really good but this time the pork was very dry and the sauce for the halibut was to over powering for the fish
We love going to Nero’s for special occasions but only issue I found was sometimes depending on server if it’s a birthday or anniversary some of them will bring a complementary dessert and some don’t , not sure why it’s not a universal thing.
Great relaxed atmosphere. The tomahawk steak was breathtaking.
The food and service was excellent.
The ribeye was awesome. I'd also recommend the duck fat potatoes.
We had a quiet dinner with a great water view
Great food and atmosphere - and the service (Milan) was exceptional.
Overall it was good, but overpriced for what we got. Crabcake appetizer tasted a little cheap (reminded me of the frozen kind you can buy at the grocery store) and the wine sauce for steak was very bland. They did however have good cuts of steak and they were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant, but the crowd is much older than you'd expect (we were the only patrons without gray hair) so it is definitely not a "happening" place to be. Also, they had some terrible 80s and 90s music playing that totally did not match the ambiance. It was at a low volume so it wasn't distracting but still a strange choice of music for a restaurant of that caliber.
I’m a seven star and that wasn’t acknowledged until it was time to pay and I got an oops.My steak came with a seasoning that is never on it and I have ordered 10x...I had a reaction to the seasoning ..my lip swelled up.I had to send back the steak....but they sent it unseasoned ..which was not what I asked for,I said whatever the orange stuff was don’t put it on but I’d assume they would use pepper or salt? They didn’t.It was windy and raining Friday night so the request for a window table was fine but the room was very drafty. Is that why our sides came cold ? 😂 Look I didn’t complain or don’t want to complain anymore. There are only three places in this casino I can use my celebration dinners at.All three of them are so bad food wise I’m just going to not bother. If you can’t cook a 50.00 steak correctly then close the restaurant and make it not a steakhouse.
I can go find a zillion restaurants that will serve me hot food that’s done correctly
The steaks were excellent, crab legs were a little on the cold side. We also ordered baked cauliflower w/cheese. The cauliflower did not seem baked to us (we make it at home and ours is far superior). it was more like cauliflower w/white sauce and very little cheese heated in a microwave.
For the prices charged at this restaurant, we expected all our food to be top notch, not just some of it. We likely won't recommend it to our friends and family and are unlikely to return.
Another wonderful evening to celebrate our anniversary. This has been our place to go to celebrate special occasions. We will continue to come here for the incredible food and the wonderful service.
We had been to Nero’s restaurant several times. It is an amazing restaurant with delicious, healthy food, and Creative chefs .
Took 45 mins wait to get our food😬😫our steak was well done instead of medium well but taste ok! Not really fun of the side dishes of cauliflower, mushroom and mac ncheese.
Sides came to table cold - by the time we rec'd news ones steak almost done
I requested a window seat and it was perfect. We were in a quiet area so we could talk and see the Detroit River etc. We had a bottle of local wine from forty north and it was very good. Our dinners were very tasty and our waiter helped us out on a few things (not sure what they were). We shared a cheesecake that was to die for and it went beautifully with the last little bit of wine left. We came out feeling very satisfied about our whole experience.
Our meal was wonderful. The sommelier was very pleasant and knowledgeable! My only negative comment might be the lack of a dress code. The guests next to us were in shorts and sandals, not what I expected when I chose the restaurant.
