Nightcap was originally conceived as a place for sweet sustenance and sparkling cocktails. Since then, we have evolved into so much more. Our space is now known as a late night, date night spot for guests and friends alike. The cozy atmosphere is welcoming, romantic and is also a great place to dine solo. It’s a space to make new friends, enjoy some incredibly tasteful food and cocktails that aim to please. Nightcap carries an old school Austin vibe that is hard to be classified as a bar or restaurant. We like to consider ourselves as a nightly dinner party at your friends house. The idea is to come over, have a great time and let us clean up afterwards. On special occasions, glitter is our favorite color that is often paired with bubbles. We hope you join us for any occasion and truly enjoy your evening.

Ordered the chicken appetizer. Rice was too oily and the chicken was undercooked. The polenta dish was simple but the dressing was too much honey. The fried green tomatoes was probably the better dish but definitely not something special. When I looked around most people were just having drinks… now I know the reason for that.

Nightcap was incredibly accommodating for a dinner reservation of 11. The service was excellent and much appreciated. The food, including the variety of options, was stellar. The ambience was quaint yet with a laidback vibe. Will definitely be visiting again very soon!

The food was all very good!! I’m vegetarian so I got the gnocchi and it was tasty but if you can get something, don’t pass on the burger. Drinks were all good too!

The outdoor patio was lovely. Cocktails were tasty. It took a while to get our drinks and food but once we did, it was delicious. I think I would have preferred regular goat cheese crUmbles on the beets, rather than the fried goat cheese nuggets but it was an interesting spin. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts too!

Very disappointing. Have loved dining here previously but not a good night for them. Food was not great and service was poor. Not good at clearing dishes or checking on us periodically. Plus they crowded too many tables into the back room and half as many in the front room. Very loud.

Fun dinner together with a friend. We started out w happy hour- great drinks at great prices for hand craft cocktails. Moved into dinner where we split the burger and mixed dip appetizers. Both were flavorful and generous portions. We sat inside alone side the beautiful bar. Noise level allowed for conversation and catching up.

I made a reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday and we were excited to try this place out. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. The food was 3/10 (quail was 90% fried breading, puttanesca just tasted like tomato sauce, dips were good, everything was VERY salty) - food was definitely not worth the prices. The hostess and the waitress did not acknowledge the special occasion, although it was noted in our reservation, and the experience overall felt uncomfortable. Our appetizers were placed on the wrong table, and several minutes later when that table told the waitress, she picked them up and brought them directly to our table, with no acknowledgement, which we think is very unsanitary. A bus boy then brought us our meals before clearing our appetizer plates, then leaving us with no silverware. 5-6 minutes later, our waitress finally came over, when we then were able to ask for more silverware. When the bill came, I took note of the total and put my card down, and my card was then charged $40 more than the initial total. We deduced that our waitress had originally left off the appetizers by accident, but did not acknowledge the $40 increase in total price when my card was charged and she brought the bill back. As we left, the hostess and staff did not acknowledge us leaving, which we thought, again, was odd and we felt disrespected, as we expected this to be a nicer restaurant, given the prices. Disappointed and would not recommend.

The management/owners are doing the servers a huge disservice. We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant only had two bartenders and two waitresses. I estimate there was around 120ish people there. We were not given any sort of notice that they were short staffed. The food was good, but took just under two hours to come out. The drinks took a long time as well and were watered down by the time we’d get them. Incredibly disappointed in the lack of planning for a weekend night. Our waitress was very kind, but the service was horrible at best.

Won’t be back. The quail was 80% fried batter and a tiny little bit of meat. The burgers were nothing special and the drinks super expensive. For these prices we expect better than bar food.

Went for galentines with some friends. Had a reservation for 8:45 didn’t get sat til 9:30 ish. We chose to sit outside under the presumption that the outdoor heaters actually worked - they did. The place was soo packed that the service turnaround was lacking to say the least. We expected to complain about the food, but it was actually very good. The drinks were splendid as well. Even with the long and unexpected wait time, we still had a great time & plan on returning.

Nightcap was a nice experience. We went on Valentines Day, so things were a bit hectic. But the hostess and waitstaff were great! The food was really good. The music was a bit too loud, but I understand that it was really busy and the place was packed. I would definitely come back on a calmer night.

Terrible service. We went unacknowledged the entire time. We sat there for an hour and had one appetizer and was never asked to order entrees. I had to get up to ask to order drinks, get up again to ask to order apps, never received one of them so I got up AGAIN to ask for our ticket so we could leave. Our server had no problem going to all the tables around us. I was excited to try this place but it was extremely disappointing. I understand restaurants are busy on the holidays but communication goes a long way and we would have appreciated just being acknowledged at the least. And the table behind us sent their food back. Update: Our server was Briona and she closed out our ticket with a tip I did not authorize. Unreal!!!! Disputed it with my cc company who refunded me immediately and will investigate with the restaurant. Gave the store a call to give them a chance to make it right and waiting to hear back. This place is a fraud.

Nightcap is more than an evening spot, even though they are opened closer to the evening :-). Everything about the place is strong. The one thing I would recommend which is a no brainer - burger and fries, done! And even an extra side never hurts. You will enjoy the place if you are rolling solo, date night or with a group.
