Great location for a bite if seeing a concert at the Jubilee Auditorium as it is a quick drive and has parking out back. When booking I had read reviews that the service was slow but the food was amazing. We were prepared for slow service, which was true, and each ordered a veal dish that was good, but didn’t wow either of us. Niko popped by mid meal and was a lovely and kind man, but his warmth and personality wasn’t matched by the other staff we had throughout our meal.

Excellent piping hot meal for all of us. Gluten free option of most dishes so very much appreciated and the service was outstanding. We never get meals this hot and fresh anywhere and if we could, we would be there every week until all menu options are exhausted, and then we would start all over again!

We went to Niko's for our anniversary. Since we went to Italy for our Honeymoon, we try to go for Italian food for our anniversary dinner. Niko's did not disappoint. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, which is hard to find in Calgary. Unfortunately, we could not stay long and were unable to order desert. Niko, the owner, saw this and brought over a couple of grappas. This was a really nice touch. We look forward to going back!

Niko's is in our neighbourhood and we have dined there dozens of times. We always enjoy the food at Niko's and this meal was no exception. They know how to prepare pasta and veal in particular. The service has been disappointing the last couple of times. Not rude at all, just unreasonably slow and unprofessional. Don't know if we'll go back.

This place is always fantastic! Seriously check it out. The service is good, they're just always busy so the waiters are limited on time but they're still knowledgeable and definitely add to the experience. I almost didn't want to write a review because it's such a good hidden gem.

Also, niko has to be the best and most friendly chef I've ever seen!

The food was good once it arrived. We had been there more than an hour when they finally told us the specials (which we had to ask about) and took our entree order. We were, luckily, in no hurry and enjoyed the antipasto very much. We decided to indulge and share a dessert, cheesecake; it was okay, but overpriced for what it was.

The service was okay but a little bit slow. We went prior to going to a performance at the Jubilee Auditorium. It was very busy while we were dining and every table was occupied. The food was acceptable but not outstanding.

Utterly enjoyed our evening at Niko's. Warm wonderful service. Greeted by Niko and treated as a special guest to his lovely restaurant. Beautifully presented meal and equally as delicious. This was our anniversary and we chose well. We will return and be happy to bring our friends next time.

Reserving using open table was so easy and convenient. Of course will look for this again.

Thanks, Linda and Carsten Jaeger

Food was lovely - the calamari was great and my gamberoni giant prawns and vitello marsala were delicious. Service from Jesse was efficient and goodnatured. Niko, the owner, spent time visiting with us, especially after it was discovered that he and my daughter-in-law's father came from around the same place. We'll be back!

Our first time at Niko's Bistro and we were very pleased. Prices are fair, wine list is OK+ (prices the usual 3X markup) but the food was very tasty and our service from a young wait staff, OK.

We'll definitely go back in the near future.

We were at Niko's on a Wednesday night during stampede. It was absolutely packed and very noisy. Both my companion and I had veal but with different sauces. Oath were delicious and large portions but I feel the veal was a tiny bit overcooked.
That said, the service was friendly and when a server brought a piece of birthday dessert to a table of two, the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. You don't see that very often!

Niko's is a quaint restaurant/bistro in Kensington. The menu is not extensive, but everything we tried from the menu was outstanding from flavour to timeliness to quality.
Service was was very friendly and prompt. Overall the price was fairly good.

We started with appetizers, through the main entree to dessert and coffee.

I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys good food, good people and a restaurant you can relax in and enjoy yourself.

The food was relatively good, portions reasonable, although pricey. The service was horrible we had two servers, and it took them both 10-15 minutes to get to us between orders. We were a party of four and the restaurant wasn't busy at all on a Sunday evening 6:30'ish. I would say 3 other tables, it took about 15 minutes to get to us when we arrived, just to get our water and wine order. Which we later find out that the house wine is $ 50.00 a bottle.
Very disappointing....

As always, everything was great EXCEPT a group of 4 or 5 middle aged couples came in part way through our dinner and they made sure everybody knew they were the center of the universe. Not anything Niko could really do about this so just chalk it up to an immature group of supposed adults.
