Nino's - Atlanta
We’ve visited Ninos and may other Italian restaurants over the years including a few in Italy. I’ve never had a Vitello Saltimboca that was so poorly prepared. Instead of prosciutto being layered atop the veal cutlet, it was tossed on the veal. It was my job in Nino’s subdued lighting to figure out how to position the ham to get the taste I was expecting and used to.
Jeffery did a great job managing 8 of our party while awaiting the late arrival of the final 2.
We will return during cooler weather to try the front dining area. Parking can be a challenge.
Will ask to be seated in Jeffery's section.
Great old world Italian restaurant!. Anthentic fiod. Professional waiters. Great menu. An excellent all around experience.
Good service, good food, loved the Super Tuscan wine.
Fabulous! Great food and love the atmosphere!
All 3 of us were disappointed in the service this time. We always enjoy the food and the ambience.
Short staffed & not prepared for the crowd. Our waiter was elderly & unpleasant.
Nino's is an old Atlanta gem and has a style unmatched in newer restaurants. We had great food and an even better server!
I've been a fan of Nino's for YEARS. I'm almost reluctant to write this gleaming review bc I LOVE it's small, cozy, authenticity (ownership, food, interiors,+ gregarious wait staff). And selfishly -- I do not want all of Atlanta there!;0) Never once has Nino's disappointed. 3 of us arrived for a "gal pals dinner," we had a lot to catch up on, and as the last 2 days have past my friends have been repeatedly texted on how MUCHhhh they just loved Nino's (food, drink + atmosphere).
We enjoyed this evening so much. We loved the food and I was very pleased that they had a gluten-free pasta option. The chianti was delicious too!
Really good food server just ok!
Great experience! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. We will be back!
The food and service are just great. The staff is great. We go there relatively often and never a bad meal.
My family and I went to Nino’s to celebrate my sister and grandparents birthday. The ambiance was nice and the food was amazing. The service however was a miss for us. Our waiter kept disappearing. We had to ask other waiters to fill our water because we couldn’t find ours. Other then that, we had a good time!
Excellent food as always and great service!
I’ve loved the food at Ninos for years. This past Saturday nite I was really disappointed! The Caesar salad wasn’t very good. The croutons were minuscule. Nothing special. I ordered the special, grouper. Delicious. The portion was small and the price a bit high. The sautéed spinach was wonderful. The desserts all looked great. I ordered the Belgian chocolate mouse cake. It was like a gelled slice something with no taste. Bummer. The veal parm & eggplant parm that the others ordered, no complaints. Maybe it was an off nite! The service was great. I also thought it was a bit loud...
The food is authentic and portions plenty. They also have a great variety from which to choose. There should be something for every palate. Of special note is their extensive wine list. Although, I typically choose the house red (Montepulciano) which is fantastic. Make sure you leave room for dessert! One last note. I picked Great for Outdoor Dining; but they actually have a covered, screened, Patio which is great if it rains. They also close it in during the cold months.
Very intimate setting and the staff is very attentive.
Excellent service and atmosphere. The staff was very accommodating. The veal saltimbocca was subregion as was the accompanying wine selection. The wait staff extremely professional and nonintrusive. This was a quiet dinner for my wife and myself. Very enjoyable.
Restaurant is very outdated needs major improvement
Mark G. is a super server. Always aims to please. The food, service and ambiance at Nino's is always on target.
First time eating on the outdoor patio. Despite a hot, humid night it was very pleasant.
I've been trying to figure out for ages why Alfredo's was so superior to Ninos. I saw it tonight. Essentially the slogan never let them see you sweat applies. If Ninos is even slightly in the weeds their service deteriorates rapidly. They are surly and completely unable to handle even the smallest surge in customers. You have had years to get it together. Maybe you should sell out to the nearest strip mall and cal it a day.
The caesar salad was poor at best - it was served at room temperature, clearly sitting out for an hour plus before being served, and dressed with far too much of a tasteless dressing. Goopy and bland. The main course, pappardelle, was very well prepared. However, that did not make up for the indifferent service. Our waiter rarely checked in, and we sat around waiting far more than necessary. It was a very long weeknight dinner.
One of the few remaining authentic southern italian restaurants; seems back on track after a couple of misses. Terrific eggplant parm, veal picatta and amazing mascarpone cheesecake. Well worth a visit.
We always enjoy the food and service. It's a great family run place. I guess Saturday nights when it's full, it gets quite noisy but it was still a treat!
The host (owner?) and the waiter were very unfriendly, almost rude. The lighting is so dim we had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. My husband has celiac disease, so I called before making the reservation and was assured that they could adapt a number of menu options to be gluten free. He was served under-cooked (inedible) gluten-free pasta, which he sent back for further cooking.
Great food, great friends, great conversation and great service.
I've been going to Nino's for years and just had my best meal ever there Saturday. Chicken Francese was fork tender with a perfect lemon sauce. My guest's birthday was this night and a tiramisu with a candle was presented to him at the end of the meal. My guest's Gabriella was tasty with lots of veggies and fresh mozzarella. Our server (young blonde female) was attentive and the best ever also. Oh, the tiramisu was creamy, slightly sweet and a nice, light ending to the meal.
Great, attentive service. Wonderful appetizers and delicious pasta!
Nino's is our go-to place whenever in Atlanta, one of our all time, favorite Italian Restaurants!
Wish we could make it down to Nino’s more often. Beat Italian in the Atl❤️🍷
Went for our 46 th Wedding Anniversary. The food was very good and I will probably plan a return trip.
Hadn't been in years since moving away from Atlanta. Place was just as I remembered it. Inviting, "Old School". Very very good Italian food.
Been going to Nino’s for over 20 years. It is still they same great service and food! Quiet so you can actually have a conversation at your table. Feels like old Italy to me! Love it!
Since Alfredio"s closed I've been looking for a great Italian restaurant. Ninos has filled the bill. We had one of the most wonderful evenings with great food and service . I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great evening enjoying outstanding Italian food. Service was very accommodating. We will be coming back soon.
Always consistently good. Excellent service!
Thoroughly enjoyed this Italian restaurant. The food was amazing! Service was good and staff recommendations were spot on! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to others.
Ninos is our go-to place for a quiet dinner or a family gathering. Our server Mark was excellent.
The food was good, but NOT worth the price! Very overpriced for the small portions with NO salad or side to accompany the entree. VERY crowded together tables , small booths, & frantic racing around of all the staff, made us very uncomfortable. Server wasn't at all knowledgeable about the menu items. We said "Anniversary" on the reservation & they didn't acknowledge it in ANY way, not even verbally, much less a dessert or drink!
We went for a Father's Day dinner. It was a Friday night, and there was a big party near us, so it was very noisy. Our teen girls were grumpy at this, and then the food came, and they came around. Hubby and I grew up on the East Coast, so we are used to boisterous Italian places. That being said, I think we'll come here midweek next time. The food was great: no shame in their old-school Italian game. The calamari was excellent, and all of our pasta dishes top notch. We have lived here over 20 years, and this is the first time we went to Ninos--it won't be the last.
