The food took forever. Appetizers took like 30 mins to arrive. The place was busy but clearly they can’t handle the restaurant when things are full. Not coming back anytime soon.

Been here multiple times and the service and food is always fantastic. This visit the service was lacking. Biggest issue is the server kept rushing us to order. Felt like they were eager to turn table which I did not appreciate. Food was great.

I’ve been coming here for years and I can confidently say that Nobu offers the best service and hospitality in San Diego. From the moment you are greeted to the moment you exit, the team is always welcoming and knowledgeable. will never return - just was there a few weeks ago and gave this feedback in hopes of someone contacting me to understand the issue - of course that never came. spending $500 to be rushed out of there in 90 minutes is absurd, especially since we were called twice beforehand to confirm the reservation despite doing so in the app, and, that each call reminded us of the 90 minute window...which means we were to plan accordingly - so to have you bus people come ask us every MINUTE if we were finished, and not waiting for the answer. twice on this trip FOOD was taken away and the straw that broke the camels back was having another server (not even ours) take the sake bottle OF OUF MY HAND to pour the rest of the drink is ridiculous. I know no one will contact us back but we will not return, I will tell the two companies I work for to stop having company events there - I will tell every single person I know or anyone who is willing to listen, that going to Nobu is a waste of time and money, the food is great but the atmosphere is abysmal.

We were told 3 times we only had 2 hours at our table. I heard you the first time and the second time and the third time. To spend 1k for dinner and have to rush through to be done is really disappointing. Won’t be back

Husband and I and two friends celebrated our friendship with a dinner we’ve always wanted to try together. Had a fabulous start. But, we mentioned to our server we wanted to “try” a sake in addition to the cocktails we would be ordering, and I took it as a sign when he tried to upsell us on a Large. I initially gave the ok, but changed at last second (after seeing the price), and said, “on second thought, a medium will probably do just fine for tasting.” We ordered two appetizers, the sunumono and the Brussels sprouts. It seemed to take a long time, but it was fine because we were just enjoying our cocktails. Sunumono was great. Our first course we ordered came before the Brussels sprouts, so I am unsure whether they had been forgotten. We ordered the Pepperfin tuna(or maybe it was yellowfin?), Chilean sea bass, the miso cod, the rock shrimp, and steak. They were served in a timely manner; however, my husband asked for some wasabi…it was delivered just before our last bites, so that was disappointing. The food, though- every dish was delicious, and I wouldn’t change a thing about preparation or flavor whatsoever! We also ordered a couple of desserts- can’t remember the names, but one was a banana dish with pecans and a scoop of vanilla, and the other was, I believe, called a Bento box and had green tea ice cream and a little chocolate cake. So good. I’d love to say we’re going to go there more often, but whoo, those prices. Maybe I would’ve given up one round of drinks for another appetizer or entree dish- or had our cocktails somewhere else before heading to restaurant. Service was good, not great..we were only a party of four, so I don’t know if that’s why we felt we weren’t a priority really..? Or maybe they were just understaffed. But there is a certain expectation when you’re treating your friends to a $700+ meal, and I don’t feel that was met on this night unfortunately. We will be talking about that food though for years to come!

My husband has celiacs and every time we come here, the servers are well informed of what he can/can’t have or how to modify it. Brooke was fantastic and accommodated perfectly. We ordered our items all at once and asked her to course it out and she timed it beautifully and made our experience great. We also LOVE that every food runner that drops any dish off explains what precautions they made to ensure it’s gluten free. Literally the only bad thing about this restaurant is the noise level which kinda kills the ambiance but whatever. Go to have fun not for a romantic date. Food (if you care to keep reading): Started with cocktails and yellowtail jalapeño. Then Kumamoto oysters and the salmon sashimi miso- all were bomb. Didn’t love the two oysters that had salsa but the ponzu one was delicious (an order comes with 3 so we each got our own- only the ponzu one is GF). Moved on to a carafe of hot sake, yellowtail cut roll and California roll. Both fresh and good but we both preferred the California. For main, we split the shrimp and lobster in lemon sauce which was also amazing. Then ended on another yellowtail jalapeño sashimi cause it’s just so simple and good. It was plenty enough food so we opted for port instead of dessert- get the 20yr over the 10yr (we tried both and it’s worth it).

Horrible service the waitress had attitude and our busser; Garren was better than her, just because my table presented younger even though we where going there for a experience and good food. We spoke to the manager before we left and he said he was sorry for “ missing a few points” but it was completely unexepytable for the resturant being so high end! The food was still good, but it was brought out in 15 minute increments and when we asked our waitress for recommendations she said she only could answer our questions. Overall, it was a experience I could have lived without an am just disappointed.

The food was great. Nothing short of Nobu experiences I've had from other locations. Really like the decor of the restaurant. Noise levels were higher than I would have liked, but it was a packed night and the energy was lively. Our server was very accommodating. He was able to take some special requests we had with our orders and they were delicious.

Over priced sushi that taste very average. The local San Diego uni is not as good as the ones from Santa Barbara. Yellowtail Jalep was not worth the price. The tenderloin was excellent. The flambé Miyazaki A5 Wagyu was great. Service was the worst, for a fancy restaurant like NOBU they run it like cheap Chinese restaurant. The waitress rush us with our order and did not explain the menu to us since this it is our first time dinning here. Not worth price and the noise level was too loud. Ruins the dining mood.

Our waiter Tommy was fantastic. He made great recommendations, was super friendly, and provided us with great service. The rest of the staff was great as well. We must have seen at least 12 different employees at our table. Great team work!

The problem with this place is that we felt rushed from the time we sat down Felt that our waitress did not take time to even really talk to us until she had presented us the check to try to increase her tip. Cocktails were average, food was pretty good, some average, some above. When you’re paying this kind of money, food and service should be exceptional and nothing about Nobu San Diego was exceptional.
