North and Navy
Our menu is inspired by tradition and dictated by the quality and availability of ingredients. We play off the similarities between the climates of Eastern Ontario and Northeast Italy, and create our take on classic dishes made with seasonal game, seafood and vegetables. Plus, sometimes we’ll just add whatever we want.

We went out to celebrate St.Niklaus day.
Fabulous service and fabulous food.
My boyfriend and I went to north and navy for our 5year anniversary and had an incredible night. Food and service was amazing! They gave us glasses of champagne on the house. Would recommend to everyone !
The food shows great imagination, but with the comfort of familliar textures and flavours. The staff are delightful and knowledgeable.
Outstanding!
Our dinner at North and Navy was excellent. Located in an old house converted to restaurant, it had great decor and ambiance. We visited on a Sunday, which had a special menu. The 'Sunday Gravy' pasta with Pork Belly, Chicken and Meatballs was delicious. The Cortonesi Rosso wine is highly recommended. The smelt starter was also very tasty. We will definitely be returning to try their regular menu. Sunday was not overly busy, but a reservation is recommended for other days of the week as Saturday was booked well in advance.
Our server was absolutely amazing. Very happy with the entire experience!
Food great noise level not. Service great.Ambience fine.
Food and service is outstanding! Always!! Please don’t ever take the potatoes that are coated in tomato sauce off the menu. Probably one of the most amazing simple dishes I’ve ever enjoyed!! Thank you all sooo much and I’ll again soon!
Excellent food and service. Fabulous fresh pasta. Delicious liver.
I went for the first time at North and Navy. It is very warm and welcoming space to be in. Everybody was very polite. The food was excellent. I had a salad and a pasta dish. Both very delicious. Amazing! I will go again and Irecommended it to many people. Thank you.
Most innovative Italian cuisine. The white truffle pasta was outstanding. Lovely service.
Amazing service, incredible food and cocktails
Ambience was great other than the music choices didn't suit the restaurant which devalued the location. Food was good but found the quantities small and the entry was served too quick which made the experience appear rushed.
My ambiance rating was just "good" because the noise level was high even though the restaurant was only half full.
Great place to enjoy fun drinks, great food and coffee, knowledgeable service staff and a great location that's away from the madding crowd, which equals parking opportunities.
My party's experience was very positive. The only negative was a large group seated next to us that got a little noisy, but when we brought this to their attention, they were very good about reducing the noise level. My two friends enjoyed their liver and onions and apps. My cacio e pepe risotto and duck main were both outstanding, as were my "meleto" cocktail and my dessert, which was an Italian take on lemon meringue pie (almost like a Lemon Chess pie, to my taste). Finally, full props to our waitress who besides being very hospitable, knew the menu very well, and also locked into the kitchen's timing of our courses seamlessly.
The food/wine was incredible and when you match that with the service it's impossible not to recommend this restaurant. My wife and I were visiting Ottawa from Atlanta and this was recommended by an Ottawa native. We sat at the bar and Can treated us tremendously along with everyone else we interacted with at the restaurant. We also had the pleasure of speaking with Adam for a few moments and the hospitality was magnificent. If you live in Ottawa and haven't been to dinner make a reservation now and if you're visiting do the same.
The ambiance is great including the mix of beautiful old dishware is fun and impressive! The service was fine but the food was just good, nothing great. I found that the menu did not adequately explain what several of the dishes were. The waiter only explained the dishes upon being asked and with at least half the choices needing explanations it was annoying. I would be willing to try the restaurant again.
There was a vent where we sat that was blowing cold air the entire time, which made the experience less than comfortable considering it was negative temperatures outside and we were hoping for a warmer environment. Additionally, the bread we received was hard, one of the pieces only being the crust of the loaf, and although, we received the food we asked for in a timely manner, the quality of it was not worth the price point. For these reasons we would not recommend the restaurant to a friend.
A lovely evening with great home style food. This is the first time I have been on a Sunday where there is the special menu. Delicious.
We enjoyed our dining experience quite a lot. The waiter was extremely informative and took the time to offer a suggestion due to a fish allergy. The portions were just the right size and quite spectacular. We will make plans to dine there again.
Outstanding food and attention. Extensive wine list and amazing mood.
As usual, I enjoyed a fantastic experience at North & Navy. 5 à 7 offerings were on point. The pasta special was great and the wine pairing was superb.
Menu is limited and my lamb was really quite fatty.
Twas DOPE AS HELL. I HIGHLY recommend the steak. It was a dream
First time dinning here but won’t be the last. Pasta was excellent and we shared the steak served family style with potatoes and vegetables.
The food was innovative and very good. We split eight dishes amongst four people, with dishes ranging from good to fantastic. We were also very impressed with the beer. We found their dessert menu lacking and decided to do dessert elsewhere. Somewhat expensive, but worth it.
We had a delightful dining experience all around. They had me with the homemade bread right from the start. The Service was absolutely perfect. The server was on top of every detail but not over the top and not rushed. We tried a variety of starters and pasta dishes and looking forward to trying more menu items. Very impressive!
Amazing! Thanks for the fabulous meal, service and experience! Hope to be back soon.
This retaurant has become my top 3 places that I have EVER been too. Starting from the beautiful silverware and plates, followed by amazing service and topped off with mind blowing food. This place creates an intimate dinning experience with exceptional food.
We had parents visiting for the Thanksgiving long weekend and thought we would go out for dinner given our limited time together. Although there was some hesitation from steering away from “traditions” and specific requests Sunday Dinner at Nonna’s did not disappoint. Our experience at North and Navy sparked childhood memories and was woven into our conversations long after we had left the restaurant. From warm and welcoming staff, familiar ambience and of course the food North and Navy did more than provide us with a wholesome meal.
A must try in Ottawa and we look forward to gathering around the table again with our family at North and Navy in the near future.
Sunday gravy was amazing!
My daughter loved the meatballs and the smelts
Thanks for making us feel at home
The ambiance and mood perfect.
The food succulent.
The service outstanding.
Always an interesting menu. Food is consistently excellent. Service is attentive without being disruptive. Fun spot for couples and groups.
Service was very pleasant, but very very slow.
Food was good, but overpriced.
Very creative food.
Delicious!
Most friends of mine need glasses and therefore impossible to see in your dark room. Far too dark for us also.
We loved the relaxed feel of the restaurant, it was very comfortable and a great place for conversation. The food was exciting and familiar at the same time, and we will return to try more dishes. Our compliments to Daniel H. who prepared an amazing tasting menu for us. The enormous T-Bone steak was the highlight for everyone, besides the homemade Tiramasu with a dark, deep Americano.
The quality and freshness of the food was amazing.
Everything was flawless - food, wine, and service. A memorable meal.
