I had an excellent dinner at North and Navy and received exceptional service and recommendations from our server. While expensive, it is a beautiful experience that is worth the price.

I literally broke my foot walking to North and Navy but really didn’t want to miss out on this exceptional spot. The staff took amazing care of me and sent us off with a dessert on the house for our anniversary.

The chef coming to the table to explain all menu items was so nice! Our server was super knowledgeable as well, she was training a guy (sorry I don’t remember any names!) but he was great too, we asked a lot of questions about the desserts and digestives and he answered them all. Food was phenomenal!

Overall, it was lovely - not quite what I hoped for. We were three diners who declared up front we hoped to share the plates we ordered. The server kindly brought side plates. Two of the three antipasto’s were average. Chips and Dip were great, Vitello Tonnato visually stunning but less flavourful, cichetti was three crostini with toppings - two of three were quite good but really hard to share. The three pastas (Primi) were great and inventive.I found the portions small for the price point. The secondi we ordered was duck and it was well cooked. We split one desert which was very good. Our server was new and that may have been an issue. Two of the three appetizers were not ideal for sharing between three diners. The servers worked well as a team but there was a noticeable lag between wine being finished and being offered more drinks. The food was good, total was near $400 for three antipasti, three primi, one secondi, one desert, one bottle of wine and three glasses of wine - so not outrageous.

Third visit to North & Navy, again a wonderful evening. Food is innovative and tasty. We travel in Europe often, so are a bit jaded when it comes to restaurants at home. North & Navy is well worth the visit. On the more expensive side, but not outrageous. You definitely get what you pay for. Service was perfect - attentive without being invasive. Thank you Sebastian! Will definitely be back the next time we are in Ottawa.

Awesome meal last night with absolutely delicious offerings. Our server, Stefan, helped us with descriptions of the dishes and was attentive throughout the meal. The starters were gorgeous - three small servings of pâté, plum & Roquefort cheese, blueberry marinated chicken all on endive leaves and also grilled shishito peppers with Parmigiano slices. Then small plates of artichoke bundles and spaghetti with carrot, dill and eggplant in a light carrot sauce. The main dish of flank steak was perfectly cooked. Service was nicely timed. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience. We sat at the “counter” with a view into the kitchen. The service was great, and our server explained the full menu in a very friendly way. We learned a bit of the intent and motivation of the food from the head chef, and all the food was unique and very flavorful.

The restaurant was very cool, being in a converted house. The food was phenomenal, with everything offering such different flavours and textures. Our server, Sebastian was a delight. Can’t say enough great things about North & Navy. Highly recommend!
