    Went to North and Navy to celebrate a birthday and had a great evening. Amanda was very friendly and went over the menu with us with her recommendations. She also helped us select wines based on our preferences. The food was very delicious and flavorful, portions were reasonable and sharing (which was recommended) was a great idea. I would definitely go back to experience more of the food choices.

    Food was fantastic but it was very expensive. So, it will be important for folks to be prepared for the sticker shock from the bill. Absolutely delicious food though and the staff was amazing. We were 3 people. We shared 1 appetizer, we shared 1 primi and we each had a main course with a bottle of wine. Total was over$425. I loved the food and all of it. Just wish it was a bit friendlier on the budget.

    This was a splurge, but worth every penny for a special occasion. This is honestly one of the best meals I have had in Ottawa. The first time we came here was with another couple, and this time we had our 10 yo and 6 yo with us, both times the service was impeccable and the food, sublime. %100 would recommend this restaurant.

    Thank you to the team at North & Navy for making my birthday celebration incredibly special! We were treated like royalty (as all guests are) with attentive, kind and professional service. And the food.......it brought me back to my travels and memorable food experiences in Italy! The flavours are delicious and presentation incredibly beautiful and creative! Plus the cocktails are outstanding and the wine list unique. Cheers!

    10/10 experience. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the ambience was wonderful. It did get a bit noisy as more people entered the restaurant, but everything else was so fantastic that the noise levels were easy to ignore. I had high expectations for this restaurant based on others' reviews, but even those expectations were just blown out of the water. We're already planning our next visit.

    A wonderful experience , the food and service were first class. They seated us at a lovely table in the front window as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Very thoughtful! There are some unique items like caviar and chips , and the pea- shaped pasta - delicious . Portion sizes are excellent for sharing and trying new items, although mains were a little small for the prices. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to Ottawa.

    They surprised us with a complimentary glass of prosecco when they found out it was our wedding anniversary. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and was able to explain the plates in both French and English terms. I just love this place.

    Had to wait 45 mins. to get food and 30 mins. between antipasto and main course. Tomato and ricotta was good, duck was excellent and risotto truly disappointing as it had an overly acidic flavour and rubbery mushrooms . Servers were pleasant and helpful but unfortunately the long waits and extremely high noise level detracted from our experience.

    Homemade pasta typically is a strength here and the corn agnolotti with pickled peaches did not disappoint. SO's pasta however was undercooked, an easy thing to detect before plating that wasn't. Chips with caviar sounded great as a starter but execution and texture did not live up the usual standards. Halibut was sublime (though the billed morels as garnish turned out to be king eryngii, a much less expensive mushroom), as was the duck, with a rich sauce. The biggest gap was the wine program: our server had very limited knowledge and there didn't seem to be a somm on site, which is odd for a restaurant of this caliber.

    Absolutely delicious food! Ate the scallop crudo with cucumber foam and strawberries--what a delightful combo! Then had secondi: halibut, potato & asparagus. Need to work on their cocktails, but the wine more than compensated.

    The food was amazing! The portion sizes for the price was disappointing. Two little pieces of steak for $48 seems extreme. It’s not even enough steak for one person, let alone if you are sharing plates. It’s too bad the amazing food was overshadowed by the very expensive pricing. I knew it was going to be expensive and it was a special occasion, but $600 with wine, drinks and tip for 4 people and walking away feeling like you didn’t get value was just disappointing. Service was fabulous - server was very knowledgeable.

    Absolutely incredible dining experience, and not for the first time. I'm not sure where North & Navy goes to get such incredible staff, but well done. The atmosphere is my favourite of any restaurant I have been to - from the overall design, style, lighting, atmosphere... Simply put, this is what excellence looks like. The menu is at once simple and comforting while also exciting and challenging.

    Overall the service, and the experience was very good. We had great experience with the appetizers, including the risotto and the meatballs, but the halibut was rather dry. I do recommend the restaurant but ask about the way the fish is cooked.

    After eating at North and Navy I realize what a mistake it was to not have gone here sooner. The experience was second to none and my partner and I felt like completely content with every piece of it. If you've been contemplating going, don't make the same mistake as we did and go as soon as you can!

    I was there for my 15 year wedding anniversary. The service was excellent. I can’t remember our servers name but he was an 11/10. He was friendly, very knowledgeable, and we never waited for anything. Great overall experience.

    Spent several days in Ottawa and had some excellent meals but by far the greatest experience was that it was at North and Navy. our server was wonderful and patiently went through the menu describing flavors profile. only disappointment we would’ve preferred to be in a booth or at the bar in the back but we’re advised that that’s your choice you have to make when you make a reservation.

    The service was perfect! The food taste and quality were excellent. The portion of pasta in our pasta dish was just too small to appreciate in any meaningful way. My wife and I shared 4 dishes. The one pasta dish (Pasta with peas) had literally 7-8 strands of homemade pasta in it. It just doesn't cost that much more to add more pasta to a 35.00 pasta dish. We did not expect that from a restaurant that serves Northern Italian food. The only blemish, but enough to have us try something new the next time we are in Ottawa.
