Nostrana—literally ours—invokes local. Simple food from honest ingredients. Pure, regional, Italian. Opened in 2005, Nostrana is Chef/Owner Cathy Whims’ love letter to Italy. This is a restaurant built on relationships: with our amazing farmers and purveyors, our dedicated staff, and of course with you, our guest.

We hope to offer something timeless and authentic in a beautiful space, the regional specialties of Italy deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest. We strive to be better every day.

We're currently reserving indoor tables and bar seating. When available, outdoor patio reservations may be subject to weather disruptions.

A Service Charge of 22% is applied to all checks at Nostrana, providing a professional and equitable wage for all team members.

From the OpenTable editors: Open since 2005, multi-James Beard Award-nominated chef Cathy Whims’s flagship restaurant still turns out some of the city’s best Italian food. Feast on wood-fired thin-crust pizzas and a 2.5-pound Florentine-style bone-in ribeye, plus seasonal pastas and mains in a lodge-like space with soaring vaulted ceilings and festive hanging lanterns. Toast the meal with a celebratory cocktail—Thrillist dubbed Nostrana “Portland’s capital of the negroni.”

    Bespoke (Fully) Private Dining in our cozy, modern mezzanine at Enoteca Nostrana. Located directly next door to Nostrana, Enoteca boasts a two-story glass cellar of wines and a modern style, offering a bright and inviting space for gatherings of all kinds. (Unlike our Semi-Private Experience, this option provides an exclusive space reserved just for your party.) Private dinners are comfortable for small groups or seatings up to 30. Seated dinners are most common private dining experience and feature family-style plating of classic Nostrana dishes and service for an Italian feast. Alternatively, standing-room parties feature buffet-style plating rich with antipasti. Our Events Team will reach out to discuss menu selections for your party and other details. The price reflected on OpenTable reflects the deposit due hold the room. Final costs depend on party size, menu selections, and add-ons. Booking here will place a hold on our private room.     Everything is fresh and delicious. This was my third time here, and I was treating friends who hadn't been prior. It will be their go to restaurants for out of town guests.

    As always, we had a wonderful dinner at Nostrana's last night. We just love everything about the place: the food, the service, the atmosphere. It's the place that we love to take out of town guests to show off what Portland has to offer.

    First time there and would go back again in a heartbeat. Four of us shared an order of bread, a double order of fried mozzarella and risotto, house salad, pork and beef fettuccine, and a 2.5 lb ribeye. Added to that was a shared wine flight and apple crisp. All the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We all agreed it was well worth the price.

    Consistently outstanding in all aspects, especially the food, drinks, wine. Service is top-notch, always well-trained, very helpful, and friendly. The restaurant is beautiful, at a table, or at the bar. Also, for an adult's-only, date night, try the Enoteca, connected to the restaurant and super-fun (same food, but more intimate). The menu varies, and literally everything is excellent, from wood-fired pizza to pastas to seafood and other creative options, everything expertly prepared, delicious. Portland is a city embarrassingly rich in great restaurants, and Nostrana stands at the very top of that list. Unquestionably FIVE stars! *****

    Usual excellent service, but the gnocchi wasn’t up to their usual standard. The dish was mostly warm but the gnocchi was chewy and the Ragu was fairly bland. Our radicchio salad was amazing as was the bunions for dessert.

    Was so excited to try Nostrana! Ambiance and environment was warm and inviting. Staff was nice and caring. Food was pricey and came to the table just under warm. Flavors were good. Radicchio salad for the win.
