Usually everything is great but this it was so slow. And they weren’t that busy at all. We were there 2 hours and got a sandwich and pizza.

I took my friend her for her birthday and I wanted us both to try something new. She enjoyed the food as much as I did and It was great price of money for a great quality and amount of food. Everything tasted fresh and was by far delicious , we even talked about going back for my birthday which is 2 1/2 weeks after hers .

Food is always good! Our first server "disappeared" somewhere for a bit and another one stepped in and helped out! Nice teamwork and support by your staff! Thanks!

Pepperoni pizza came without pepperoni. It was returned to kitchen and returned to table with pepperoni placed on top. Bloody Mary was weak and olives were left out. Asked for water 4 times. Ordered sorbet for 2-yr old which came as two huge scoops over strawberries. Some buffet dishes were empty or only had 1 item. We were very disappointed. Food was fair.

So disappointed, made a reservation for brunch. Got there to find out brunch is a buffet and few choices available a la carte. Left went to Costal Flats and had a fabulous brunch!

I always call this place "Average Joes." Food is decent, but not stellar. I picked it because my daughters and I couldn't decide where to eat, and they have a great variety. I had the shrimp tacos, which were flavorful, but served on a plank thing, not a plate. They were very hard to pick up and eat, I needed my bread plate in order to catch the fallout. May want to rethink that presentation AJ.

Seated on the covered patio in the corner. Cold air was blowing through during our entire meal. Several of us had to leave our coats on or wrap them around our legs. Being cold throughout the meal made it uncomfortable to enjoy our time out together. We asked to be relocated but the request was denied.

It seems that every time my husband and I have dinner here, the food is not prepared well. This time, I asked for my steak to be prepared medium and it came out almost raw. I really didn’t want to order anything else after that so the meal was virtually ruined. I don’t want to go back there. They can never seem to get it right.

Food was delicious and plentiful. Their ciabatta bread alone is worth the trip. We arrived late afternoon on Valentine's Day, well before the rush, and both wait staff and management were very attentive and responsive to our requests. We sat on the outside patio, practically alone, but were not neglected, in fact we got extra attention. This remains one of my favorite places.

My friend and I hadn't seen each other for some time and we were allowed to sit and visit for as long as we wanted. Our waiter, Robert, was excellent! He was attentive, but yet left us alone. Great time.

While we generally enjoy the food at Not Your Average Joe's, we have consistently run into issues with service and atmosphere. I believe that's why we don't patronize the Gaithersburg location much even though we live very close by. We came in for a light dinner and we were seated right away in a nice booth. Our waiter came by right away with menus and gave us adequate time to peruse the selections and make choices. We all ordered soups to start and my wife and I split the knife and fork burger which we ordered medium rare while my daughter had lettuce wraps. The bread and olive oil/cheese mixture wasn't automatically served to us as has been the practice, but we were asked if we'd like some and we said yes. It arrived with the oil mixture so thick we couldn't dip our bread in it properly. When it ran out, along with the bread, we were never asked if we wished it to be replenished but rather had to ask the waiter. The second serving was equally as thick which is quite unusual. Our water glasses were never refilled during our meal until we specifically asked. The soups were all delicious and hot. The clam chowder is always thick and tasty and the special soup, the Lobster Bisque was outstanding and full of lobster chunks. After our soups, we waited a long time for our entree's to arrive and when they did, they were rather disappointing. The burger was pre-split in the kitchen for us, which I appreciate, but the burger was the size and thickness of a McDonalds hamburger and because of that was obviously well done. The sauteed spinach served with it was delicious and full of garlic and butter but a very small amount. Finally, the lettuce wraps came "unwrapped". It was a plate of vegetables and fillings and a separate plate of lettuce leaves. I don't normally see this served this way. The restaurant was excessively loud as well, as the bar seemed to be the focus, and a basketball game was on. All in all it was an OK evening, but I wouldn't run back.

We have come often to this location. This past dining experience was a genuine disappointment and overall fail. My daughters were turning 18 and chose this spot as their family party meal because they love the bread and a few of the salad entrees. My daughter’s salad was so small it could have been a side salad. There was barely any greens. They try to push a bread/hummus app and when we asked for the usual bread our waiter looked annoyed. The service was tragically slow, like epic. Drinks were brought out sporadically rather than all at once. We were there an hour before ordering. The bills were messed up by the waiter too. We couldn’t wait to get out of there at end of meal.It was an awful birthday meal. I’m not sure I’d go back now at this point...

I was disappointed in the Sunday brunch. The food was decent, however, the service lacked. The person in charge of the scrambled egg station was not there and we had to wait. There were no other people around. One of our party wanted to have eggs a la carte but they could not order eggs unless they got the $28 buffet. He was also under 21. So basically I had to order $28 scrambled eggs. I was ok but not good enough to go back again.

Although the restaurant was not crowded, the service was slow. Burgers were supposed to be half-price, but I was charged full price, probably because I was using a $15 dollar off birthday coupon. My wife said her chicken dish was excellent.

It is a staple for our family in lazy nights when nobody want to cook. The food options were quite easy to figure out. I like that there is a separate menu for alcoholic beverages, which was Alice easy choose from. Everyone enjoyed their order except for the jambalaya, which listed as one of the ingredients but there were no veggies when the entree was served. It was delicious, don’t get me wrong, but I was looking for vegetables other than tomatoes. Our waiter was great and made our change requests to the entrees with no problem. Overall, we had a great time

We felt the buffet was disappointing and would definitely not go to Not Your Average Joe's again for the buffet. The selection was poor, and the food not particularly good. Also, it was definitely overpriced. We have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed the food & felt we got good value for our money. So the buffet experience came as quite a surprise (shock). If our experience with Not Your Average Joe's had been based on the buffet alone, we would not recommend it at all. But considering we have had other good experiences at the restaurant, we would recommend it to a friend with the qualification to skip the buffet.

We eat at NYAJs often because the food and service never disappoints us. However, when Victoria C is our server it is always a special treat. She is an outstanding server and representative of the company. She is friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and reliable. If she ever expresses interest in moving into a leadership or trainer roll, NYAJ should make it happen, though we would miss having her as our server.

The past couple visit's to NYAJ have been disappointing. The food quality has seemingly deteriorated. It's unfortunate as it was a nice, mid-priced option for business and casual dining, but it will become a last resort at this point. The food was tasteless and the service was passing.

I frequent this restaurant often. Selection of food does not meet the brunch price of $28. However, the scrambled egg station and brioche French toast was delicious. Servers were very polite. A plate of roast beef and ham is not exactly what I would call a carving station.

FABULOUS Sunday brunch. Lovely large buffet of breakfast and lunch foods to choose from. Great selections- too many to try all of it. 😊.
Good price for the size and quality of the buffet.

We love your brunch. Brought some dear friends to experience it. Mimosas a bit strong - they ran out of mimosa glasses and the ratio was apparently more difficult. Sadly, Mac and cheese looked delicious, but didn’t taste at all like white cheddar or even cheese. Jambalaya bland. Scramble station fab! Muffins, cinnamon buns, and desserts excellent. Service a bit spotty but it was caused by another customer tying up the servers.

The dish I had, Jambalaya, was very tasty and there was plenty of it. I found the prices somewhat on the high side, at least for me. Service was very good. It was very quiet when I went, 9 pm the day after Christmas, which is just what I like.

Generally, we have had very good meals at NYAJ, however, on Friday two of our group of 4 ordered their "special" porcini crusted fish. The dish was terrible and both of us sent it back. It was like eating pure salt and had no flavor. We ended up substituting salads that were fine. The manager came over and apologized -- he even said that our salads would not be charged, yet they were on the final bill at any rate.

We had our holiday party here today, party of 10. It took a full hour for our food to arrive, and even then it did not arrive all at once. Moreover, one person was skipped entirely in the ordering process. The table of two next to us got their meal comped for the wait time for them, yet we never even got a visit by the manager and certainly not any sort of discount. When we did flag the manager down to complain, he did apologize. Don't waste your time or money here.
