Didn’t have table ready in time, though restaurant didn’t look packed. Hostess in a manner of a strict first grade teacher pointed to a bench on the side and told to have a seat. Why wait at the bar, when u can have a bench 😂😂
The asparagus was pretty plain
Cavatelli was good, but nothing to write home about

Turns out there are TWO restaurants with this name. I arrived at Nota Bene in Richmond with no reservation. My reservation was in Toronto! This has happened to this restaurant many times before (I was the second of the night) but they were very accommodating allowing the two teens and me to sit at the bar. I had a very good negroni, was advised on a good glass of cote de Rhône and had a fine grappa after dinner. All three pasta dishes were excellent but especially the one with pine nut and pork cheek. So happy with the almond cake dessert and the biscotti with lemon ricotta? Dreamy!!! There was enough to take home for my morning espresso!

Delicious food! Excellent service!

Only downside is the cold air that gushes though the main door and make it uncomfortable to enjoy the delicious food.

If Nota Bene installed a double door system to keep the cold air out in winter/cold weather. This restaurant will be a 10 out of 10.

Overall, a much to go and try the food and service!

And good drinks too : )

So we were there from out of town because my friend and I were going to the ballet. I invited my 24 year old granddaughter along for dinner because she works and lives in Toronto and it was a good opportunity for a visit.She enjoyed her tuna and my friend and I ordered the pasta from the set daily menu. We all had oysters to start which were good ,but the mushroom pasta did not have much flavour. So next time we'll order from the a-la carte menu.

This restaurant was surprisingly dead for Winterlicious. The food was sub-par and not worth the value, the basics was swimming in butter and the lamp shank was comparable to a short rib in flavor. The desert options were scarce as we couldn’t wait for the dinner to end

The Winterlicious menu was outstanding. Greatly enjoyed by all four of us. The service was good, though our table for four was only set for three. Staff were quite flustered, and had us standing for a bit. Otherwise, a delightful evening.

The space overall felt simultaneously finessed, fun, and comfortable—good balance. The food was very good, as expected, but the staff exceeded my expectations with their responsiveness and their attentiveness to the needs of the table, particularly around timing as we had another event following dinner.

Winterlicious for lunch. Great food - forest mushroom salad followed by capellini with mushroom sauce. Wow. Great flavours, good portions. Appreciate the quality - it was really good!

It was winterlicious so I imagine the restaurant was busier then normal which would account for the noise levels. The waiter set us up for a dining experience ‘we will be amazed’ with and was not. The food was good, but not amazing good. Lamb shank was tender but lacked any kind of noticeable flavour. Dessert was good- sticky toffee pudding.

Though the space is large and can seem impersonal, I have always felt well taken care of at NB. The food was excellent even though a Winterlicious menu can be constraining -- foie gras, terrine, mushroom pasta, and a pudding sweet were all extremely good.

Food was excellent. We had 3 appetizers: cheek, duck salad and octopus. Delicious! Then venison (melt in mouth) and black cod, Mango sorbet with coconut tapioca. Really great meal and great service. Plan to return soon for another enjoyable experience! Highly recommended.

I've been here many times for the inventive Asian-fusion food and the stellar service. Had a lovely conversation with the sommelier at the end of the meal that will bring me back so that I might continue it.

Really great experience. Tristan our server was very knowledgeable and extremely nice. Dave tested us to some Canadian whiskey to sample. Food was amazing. Fresh and seasonal, just as advertised. Definitely would go back.

We chose the tasting menu for a New Year’s Eve dinner with friends. The food was good but hard to justify the price tag of $864 including wine pairings for 4 ppl (not including tip). Decor was minimalist and the wind from outside during the deep freeze was blowing in the front door onto our table. I would recommend this spot for a special occasion but be prepared to pay a hefty bill.
