    I was very disappointed by my experience. Server did not say a single word to us until 15 minutes after we had been seated - she walked past us multiple times but did not come over. Once she took our food order - the first time we spoke to her - she did not return until she brought us our bill 2.5 hours later. Our food took 55 minutes to arrive & we did not see our serve once. A different server noticed we had been sitting for a very long time without being checked on & went to ‘check on our food’. He returned with our cold & soggy food that had obviously been sitting not served to us for quite some time. Our server returned - after not seeing her for 2 hours with only the bill - she did not even take our plates from in front of us. Considering the price of this restaurant I am extremely disappointed by the total lack of service & quality.

    The server only came by twice. Good thing we didn’t need anything after our plates were served. The steak was tough and stringy not what you would expect for the price.

    We both had the prime rib and it was excellent! I had the brownie dessert and my wife had the lemon meringue. Again, both were delicious. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with champagne and the OMG chocolate cake. We had a great celebration and are very thankful that we chose to dine at the Notch8

    We went here for our anniversary. My husband is a quiet person and both loved how we got a couch and seperate/partition table for privacy and space. Food was so delicious and just the right amount of servings. The server was genuinely friendly and fast, efficient. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have an extraordinary fine dining experience.

    Food and service were excellent. Chose restaurant partly because of the live music offered, but the web site detailing the performers was a month out of date. We were unable to hear the music from our table due to the high level of background noise and had no direct line of sight to the performers, which was disappointing

    I used to enjoy Hotel Vancouver's brunch buffet before it was at Notch 8. I was pleasantly surprised that the new venue not only looked very modern but also felt very welcoming. There were beautiful booth sittings inside, and I thought I would have to come back to just sit there and have my brunch. I don't have much to say about the food because it was just wonderful. Since I am all about seafood, I loved the cold dishes. I will definitely visit again—in fact, I already made my reservation!

    Never doubt the quality of service from Fairmont. Arrived 30 minute early but welcomed to to table right away. Thoughtfully explained when seated, continuously but appropriately cared by the server. Timing was perfect everytime. We didn't have to look for the service. It was always right there. Highly professional! Food selection was a bit less than expected but overall tasted above par. You pay for exceptional service, making it a pleasant and memorable dining experience. That's all worth it. Definitely will go back in near future.

    I had a pretty awful experience here yesterday. While the server was lovely, the chef left what looked like remnants of scouring pads in the tagliatte. The Pasta was very oily and just not a very nice experience. While they didn't charge for the meal, it felt like the dish was prepared hastily and without care.

    We started off our 30th anniversary date with the amazing brunch at Notch 8. It’s been our little tradition to visit Hotel Vancouver for our anniversary over the years - it’s the place we had our reception :) - and we enjoy it every time.     I ordered the chicken schnitzel that was way to much as a serving although tasty as schnitzel goes but the accompanig vegetables were so minimal that I felt I was only attacking a giant schnitzel. As well I odered union soup that was gobby and embarrassing to consume. Very sticky and not refined as onion soup should be

    We had a birthday dinner at Notch8. They set our table in a private booth and even bought a small cake in the end. We had the Pork chop, Schnitzel and some sides. Everything was just perfect. Would definitely recommend.

    Price quality ratio is not good. Shame! I will not eat here again next time. Disproportionate to the rest of the hotel. Meat was lukewarm, I didn't taste the red wine sauce and the puree solid only the dessert was really tasty.

    Lovely surroundings. However, restaurant was aware it was our 30th wedding anniversary - a very special day for us. No reference was made to this and absolutely nothing was done to make us feel welcomed, or help us mark this occasion. After 3 weeks of wonderful hospitality and experiences in the west coast, this was our last night and an incredibly disappointing experience. We left deflated any totally underwhelmed. We would appreciate a response from the restaurant please.
