    Great service by our waitress, and there is an excellent and tasty selection of food. Ambiance is great. Lights are just dim enough, and there a wonderful classic hotel feel to the restaurant. Great hideaway from the cold.

    Came here for my birthday, been looking forward to it. The weekend breakfast buffet did not live up to the hype. Mediocre at best honestly, nothing special. Server was attentive but there was just one instance where she asked if I was done with my plate twice in a span of two minutes. There was little food left in my plate which gave her the idea that I was done which is whatever, but I did feel annoyed and felt that I needed to rush finishing my plate. Had some of the Egg Benedicts when they just were put on the table so I assumed they were fresh, the English muffin on it was pretty tough, almost hurt to bite into and the knife wasn't cutting it even with a lot of force. Having one bathroom for the entire restaurant was somewhat odd. There's just a lot of people eating, high chance that lots of those people will need to use the bathroom during their meal. The rest of the food served on the buffet was alright, nothing mind blowing. I expected for it to taste better at least with what they charge for. I would've rather spent that money on a lower end Chinese buffet if we're comparing taste.

      Dear Madam/Sir: My dining companions and I had the weekend buffet at Notch8 this morning.  We were enjoying our brunch at a leisurely pace and were told by our server that our time was up as the booth was booked for another seating.  This made for a very awkward situation as we planned to enjoy the experience without a deadline.  I note that on the website it says the brunch is Saturday and Sunday, 11:15am – 2:15pm   and nowhere does it say there are different seating times nor were we told of this rule at the time of seating.  Thank you in advance for your reply.     We used to love Notch 8 buffet. Although not a lot of selections, the food quality is good. However, lately the food quality went down. A few weeks ago, the lamb was dry and chewy. Yesterday, the roast beef was very tough and closed to dripping in blood. The service was okay. The server walked by our table and didn’t remove the dirty plates. And he didn’t even offer clean forks for our dessert.

    Unfortunately Notch 8 has become more of a bar than a restaurant. The noise level is ridiculous, to the point that you can’t hear your server properly. Then of course let’s add live music to that to make it even worse. The food and service is generally good, but this is not the place for a dinner if you expect to be able to actually talk to your spouse.

    Our second annual trip to the holiday buffet lunch. We had amazing service again this year. Everyone is so friendly. The restaurant is lovely and the hotel is decorated so beautifully. Our only disappointment this year was that there was no turkey and stuffing on the holiday buffet! Two people in our group said it was the highlight for them last year as they don’t cook turkey for Christmas. We did give that feedback at the restaurant as well. The bread pudding with cream sauce and berries was absolutely a highlight! We will be back next year…hopefully the turkey will be as well! 😉

    Christmas lunch with my greatgranddaughter and her mom was absolutely wonderful! The Festival of Trees and the restaurant decorations were just spectacular and our wee girl was entranced. The table was lovely, right next to a Christmas tree and the service was brisk and friendly. The menu had lots to tempt us and we enjoyed the roast turkey sandwich and dessert. My granddaughter hadn’t been to notch8 before and was making mental notes to return soon. A beautiful way to start the Christmas season!

    Today Xmas lunch was ok ,not wow ,I like food and taste excellent but I find variety bit limited ,no turkeys,or chicken,prime rib was to rare side ,but all experience we enjoyed it like always and definitely we will be for new year brunch ,thanks for our server was excellent

    Everything was great except the food. My friend ordered the chicken schnitzel. The problem was, it was not a schnitzel -- it was a chicken breast, including the fillet, not pounded flat. In addition the breast was overcooked making it tough and dry. Unlike my order, the trout, the chicken was not served with mashed potatoes, only an assortment of vegetables. The vegetables served with our entreeses were unpleasantly undercooked. When it came to dessert, we ordered the cranberry brulee. For $12, this was a rip off. It was an unremarkable brulee with a dab of cranberry sauce on the top! It's a pity because the restaurant had a pleasant ambiance and was quiet -- aspects both of us look for in a lunchtime restaurant.

    Terrible service . Cold food that needed to be sent back . Very rushed during dinner . Staff seemed too busy . Overhaul very disappointed very expensive night and definitely not a Fairmont experience

    Noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Saw other tables get a special dessert a candle. We didn’t get anything in the end, not a big deal but a bit disappointed. Food was good but selection could be better.

    I've been for happy hour in the past and enjoyed it well enough. This was my first time going for dinner. It took 10 minutes before someone came to take our order, and 20 minutes to get drinks. The waiter never did bring our bread order. The fish was over cooked and the risotto was a weird mix of crunchy and soupy. Some of the seafood in the risotto was pretty good. We didn't complain, but it was disappointing and I wouldn't eat there again.

    Dining room was an oven, very hot in there... Minimal selection crammed into about 100 sq ft of buffet, plus lots of people equals line-ups and no order of how to move through... Egg station chef stared blankly past me for over ten seconds so I left him alone to his thoughts... Only 5 hot items on the self-serve table.... Meat and cheese station is crowded, cheese is just left out in a whole wheel, good luck cutting a piece of cheese with so many people crowding around and hands full. Food was 3/5, hot pasta dish was fantastic. Desserts were pretty awesome too. For $400 for 4 people... I wouldn't recommend anyone go there, hotel money grab with sub-par food and service.

    Not much selection for the price of $65 per person. Service was just ok. Condiments not readily available (syrup) for French toast. No tongs/serving utensils for dessert bars/chocolate bark. Disappointing for the Hotel Vancouver. On a good note, the positives: space was beautiful, mimosas were delicious as was the coffee. Sadly, won’t be back. Nowhere near worth the $170 bill for two

    Not too many food choices.Food tasted just okay.The roast beef was tough.I was hoping to get a few slices of smoked salmon but it goes fast and was never replenished right away.I am not gonna be returning.

    Really special ambiance with artistic and thoughtful decor. Loved the booth tables with curtains. Food was delish! Had the sockeye salmon with flavours off the charts. Great cocktail selection. Will go again for sure.

    My friend visiting from out of town has a ton of food sensitivities so we were worried her food choices would be limited. The server was knowledgeable about the menu options and was prompt in following up with the kitchen regarding modifications requests. The food was phenomenal! Beautiful setting, decor, and relaxing ambience. Thanks for a really memorable experience :)

    The food was good but for the price we definitely thought it would be better… The prime rib meal was average but the shrimp sando was delicious. Service was veryyyyy slow. We were sitting for 3 hours but were hoping to be out of there in 1.5 hours.

    Was intriuged with the all you can eat brunch, so I booked a table for my family and friends to try. It was amazing!! We loved the food, and had a great time at the restaurant. Our waiter Adrian was super friendly and attentive. Definitely will come back again. :)

    The service was excellent and the servers were charming and prompt. We attended the lunch buffet and found there to be options for everyone from fussy children to vegetarians to devout carnivores (haha!). We will definitely be back!

    For the price point I felt the food could've been a bit more interesting. There was no dinner plates at one point the pasta was very overcooked and well past it's service expire window.. The desserts were so soft sitting under the lights that picking them up was not possible hence why the tongs provided had 75% of the previous patrons choice still stuck to them which was kinda gross. The au jus for the beef was cold and mostly empty. However our server was awesome she was attentive and conversational and cheerful and was what made it an overall good experience. I just think at $150 for 2 people there should've been zero flaws with any aspect of the experience.

    The Bacon and Sausage are little bid too dry. Dessert are Excellent and have a lot of choices.

    Service could have been better for a large group. Server didn’t even ask if we wanted water. Otherwise, Notch8 is always great for ambiance and drinks.

    The salad was awesome however the fish n chips was very oily and heavy batter. Was so dissatisfied We were there to celebrate friend’s birthday Too bad we both ordere fish n chips. I have had much better at Pajos
