A wonderful evening from start to finish. Service was attentive and the food was very good. A great atmosphere within the restaurant ensured a memorable reunion with our son and his partner.
Unfortunately for an upscale restaurant, they failed to achieve in service and quality. We ordered breakfast which should be easy enough. The food was cold and eggs were underdone. The toast was burnt and still cold. Service was mediocre as the waiting staff preferred to yell things from a distance vs. Coming by the table.
Overall I feel like this could have been an off day however this doesn’t change the experience. This restaurant certainly has the potential but seems to lack quality control in the kitchen as well as the house.
Ambiance is nice as should be expected for a restaurant at a fairmont hotel. I just wish the food/service met the same standard.
Server was very attentive.
Temperature in the area was really chilly. Food became cold quicky. Brunch was not as advertised.
Short rib was dry. French toast was soggy. Avocado toast was not worth the price. Server was very good
It was terrible. The experience was an overpriced, well below average hotel coffee shop.
Food was great. Shared a meal. Large portions. Glad we went.
Expected more , food is not that good and service is slow
The OMG chocolate cake is not what it used to be pre covid. Its more like an OH my gosh instead of Oh my God. As well the pasta dish we ordered was extremely small for the price vs the Prime Rib we also ordered (which was delicious)
Chicken was raw, happy hour wine was limited ..
We left and went to Italian Kitchen .. much much better ..
Server appeared to be somewhat ambivalent & inattentive.
Great selection to choose from on the menu. Prime ribe was terrific
This place was just okay. Good facility, and nice atmosphere. Food was okay, but not AWESOME for the price we paid. We could easily get the same breakfast food somewhere else with a better value for money. Service was not the best. Although the food came in pretty quick, our waiter was slow for everything else. It took awhile until he greeted us and to take our order. Then, after trying to call the waiter multiple times, it took almost 40 MINUTES to get our bill! We even called another waiter to help us, and all they did was tell our waiter to come help us....but he still never came. Given the poor value for money (for just ... okay food) and the service we received, I would not go back to this place.
The service was just ok, they forgot to put in one of our appetizers, the meals themselves were meh, honestly looked like trainees did the plating and sauces. It was the type of meal I expected from white spot or something.
Great atmosphere. Quiet. Excellent service. Prime rib was perfect. Had miso mushrooms side very good. The tomato soup was good. They have a good bar with a decent choice of local wines. Also had eggs Benedict which was perfect.
Walked out didn’t feel safe with the distancing
Outstanding food and great service. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant
Nice restaurant and atmosphere but the live music was still too loud even though we sat far away. Did not expect a fine dining restaurant in a hotel like the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel to be playing live music in the restaurant.
Some of music was AC/DC so not exactly expected at this type of restaurant.
Food was okay, but the service was appalling. Wouldn't go back.
Make reservations - it was busy when we arrived at 7:15 on Wednesday. They are family friendly (kids menus available) and food was top notch. We had prime rib, salmon and kids had grilled chicken and Mac & cheese. We all enjoyed the food a lot. Quality and taste were top notch. Cocktails were delish too. Not exactly a low cost meal but perfect for us because we were celebrating a special occasion during our staycation at the fairmont. It did not disappoint at all and we would go back.
Charcuterie board was very disappointing and the steak was chewy and had little flavour.
Lovely breakfast, had eggs carbonara
We had a great dinner. Thank you.
Food was good. But portions were ridiculous for the price. 1 toast is 21 dollars
Service was slow before our order was taken. However, the food was delicious and didn’t take long to serve.
On our Honeymoon and we had a lovely meal plus a table that was intimate with candles. Wonderful food selection and choice of alcoholic beverages.
Anniversaire de mariage
What I first ordered wasn’t available and when I did get my main course it was not very warm. I then wait for another meal. Also as a single person I was seated right at the entrance-not a great location. I went on my 47th wedding anniversary to remember my husband who has passed away. It wasn’t the experience I expected.
The restaurant was not very busy as it was a Sunday evening. The service was prompt and friendly. Our meals were delicious.
Dinner was fabulous! We had a nice quiet booth to ourselves. The food was perfect, super yummy and decadent. Service was 5* will be definitely coming back!
Great atmosphere. Enjoys the music from the lounge. Service was very professional and attentive and food tasted great! Enjoyed it very much!
For such high prices, the food was really bland and tasteless
Notch8 is a fantastic fine dining experience with amazing food service and atmosphere. Been here a couple times and always hits a home run, last night was no different! Thank you for making our 6th anniversary dinner memorable
I have been to Notch 8 many times for lunch and dinner but first time for brunch. The service was super slow, the food was very underwhelming, drinks were cold. For a high end restaurant I’d expect a much higher quality food. I’d choose other high end restaurants over Notch 8 in the future.
Great drinks list, good presentation of food, good atmosphere.
Fantastic meals served. I was not comfortable with the seating placement due to the air conditioning having a too cold temperature. This can be an area of improvement. Other then that; I am a very satisfied customer and will return again in the future
Our server was rushed and seemed stressed.
The food was okay but not great.
For the price I had high expectations and they weren't met.
Our server did bring my date a free glass of wine that had been poured by accident so that was nice
Parking was quick ("attached" to hotel) and relatively inexpensive (vs. valet).
Decor was beautiful.
Everyone enjoyed their meals.
I could only see two servers, which made for longer time between visits.
Food took longer than normal to come out.
Air conditioning seemed to be blowing directly at our table.
Open-air layout made for elevated noise, regardless of where you were seated.
It was terribly cold. AC turned up way too much.
