Service was very slow and rib eye was grisly
Resoto tasted sour
Little tension between wait staff and bussing staff for some reason.
When dining out for a special occasion Novi Chop House is my one and only pick. Our waiter (Todd) is the best and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We have been here many times and it never ever disappoints.
Perfect night. A great place to celebrate our anniversary.
First time at this restaurant and loved it. Went with some friends and all of us had a fabulous meal. Service was great, wine was great, and being together with great friends was absoultely great. Our server was hands down wonderful, only regret is that I do not remember her name.
Not a good experience. Our baked potato was crunchy ( whoever cut it had to be able to tell). It should never have come out of the kitchen.. not a big deal to some people, my husband loves a baker with filet mignon.. we sent it back.. waited awhile, the waiter brought "au grauten" as a substitute.. they were not au grauten. More like scalloped with no taste...my salad was $10, I asked for blue cheese dressing.. I got ranch with blue cheese crumbles... I don't usually care about the price but this was all iceberg. No manager came to ask about our experience!! Never going back...
The lamb chops were overdone and tasteless...hardly worth the expense. Despite the kitchen’s tenuous grasp of the phrase “medium but bleating” the service was one point.
This restaurant was excellent. My only critique is that I wish it was a stand alone restaurant and not in a hotel. The lobby smelled of chlorine from the hotel pool and the hotel was very outdated from the outside. Not a very appealing entrance.
The restaurant is beautiful, romantic and relatively quiet. our waiter was good but he failed to check on the food after it was delivered by another server. the appetizers were great, as was the Brussels sprout side and the desert. the lamb chops were inedible (and we were not charged for them) and the ahi tuna was not like it was in prior visits to the restaurant, just ok, nothing great. i have always loved this restaurant but probably will not return.
Food was great and waitress was great and we enjoyed our meals
I haven’t been here in a while, but wanted to eat a delicious meal. My son and I ventured off to NoVI Chophouse. The staff was as wonderful as always, and I asked for the meal recommendation from my server. I ended up with the scallops, shrimp and sweet pea risotto. It was fantastic! The scallops were done to perfection! Both the callous and shrimp had a light dusting of seasoning and pan fried, with a hint of lemon. We topped it off with the pecan pie to finish. I cannot wait to go back.
My wife and I went there for a special "date night". The food and service were great. The low marks I gave was for the following reason. We were near the back of the restaurant and it was nice and quite (I am severely hearing impaired) which was great for us. Not too far from us, next to the bar, a group of six men were seated. Throughout the course of the evening, as they continued drinking, they became increasingly loud and began using explicit profanity. I was disappointed as no one on the restaurant staff dealt with this problem. I choose the Novi Chop House because of the menu and I believed an upscale restaurant like this would provide for an outstanding romantic evening. To be honest, I expected more than what I received after paying over $200.00 for dinner! I did finally talk to the GM who apoligizes and invited us back for a special dinner.
My husband and I decided to dine at the Novi Chophouse for our 26th wedding anniversary. We went knowing that it would be a pricey adventure and decided in advance to order whatever we wanted to make the evening special. Boy was it worth it! My husband ordered the 14 oz New York Strip and I had the scallop and shrimp dinner. We shared a Cesar salad and a (huge) baked potato. EVERYTHING was delicious. Both of us brought home food - we couldn't eat it all. Our bill was less than $150 and it included a glass of wine and 2 beers. If you're looking for a special place to have a great meal with nice ambiance then this is it.
Food was good, Waiter was good. The hostess who was at the door should be fired. She balked at giving us a table other than a 6 person at front door despite the restaurant being nearly empty. I would turn on my heel and walk out rather than deal with her again.
The filet was as good as any I have ever had. The sides were generous and shareable. It was a Wednesday evening and on the early side, so very quiet. As we left it looked like it was filling up. Our waiter was very attentive and we enjoyed our meal immensely.
Great restaurant. Excellent service. Good food. It’s pricey. If you go you must ask for Brent for your server. You won’t regret it
We had an excellent experience at the chophouse. We sat for dinner promptly and were greeted by our server Cory. Cory was extremely friendly and professional and helped us to have a great experience. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for a bread plate, but it was worth it! My date and I both enjoyed some cocktails, the lemonchello martini is amazing. The steaks we ordered were the cowgirl and the tomahawk. Mine was a little over cooked but still tasted good. His was on the rarer side but full of flavor. We ordered 4 sides, au gratin potatoes, whipped potatoes, baby carrots and creamed corn. They were all delicious but the creamed corn and au gratin potatoes were my favorite. Our dessert was recommended by Cory and it was amazing! Would definitely come back for another special occasion.
Waiter Todd? was great. Food was excellent. Very friendly staff
Our waiter was professional and knowledgeable. He was more than willing to meet our needs and offer his highly valued advice. Food was well prepared and presented. Other staff members were top notch as well.
Always looking for a good steak. Was in Novi for a meeting and had to try the Novi Chophouse.
First it is in the Sheraton Hotel, but I dont recall that being mentioned anywhere so I had difficulty finding, even with GPS. Once there, the place was empty. Maybe that should have been a sign. The restaurant is very nice looking, dark and woody like you would expect at a steakhouse. The service was great. Very attentive. Wine list extensive with plenty of good options at all price points. Unfortunately the steak was just average. The waiter had recommended the KC strip and said it was the most flavorful . I believe it was dry aged 28 days and had a small bone left in. It was advertised as Prime. The flavor was lacking and it was gristly and tough. Certainly not what I would have expected from that cut at that price.
Many other options available including some Kobe options. Maybe I just didn't pick the right cut.
Service was great and the food followed suit. Atmosphere was very nice. The hostess lacked friendliness, but that was easily overlooked.
Went there for 15th anniversary. Food was excellent. Never had bison, but will again. Service was great, food was delicious, and it was a very nice setting.
Excellent service from out waiter Cody. Me and my girlfriend celebrated our 4th Anniversary today at the Chop House and it was everything we wanted it to be. The food was hot and fresh and the drinks were cold. Will definitely go back.
Good food nice atmosphere but the prices are a bit high.
We had a great business dinner. The service and food were excellent. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and everyone had a very good time. The next time I am in town with customers I will make a point to come to the Chop House.
Seemed pretty easy getting a reservation for 7 people for mother's day brunch. Wasn't actually housed in the restaurant, it was in a reception hall style room.
For $45 per person... It should have been better. Was told there were crepes, never found them (omelette station was labeled, only found eggo waffles in warming dish.
Eggs Benedict were good, but cool in warming dish.
Prime rib was tender, but bark on it was pure salt.
Canolli shells were soggy, all the desserts were just ok.
Wish we had known brunch wasn't actually held in the chophouse restaurant.
We had a wonderfully experience at Easter so decided to go back for Mother’s Day brunch and we were incredibly disappointed. From the moment we walked in there was not enough staff to sit people and we had to wait, our server was hesitant to accommodate a food allergy, we were told the buffet attendants would know food allergies, however they did not. The menu ahead of time said crepe station and there was not one, the food was slow to be replaced on the line, and our mother was not given a rose while others were. Overall the quality of food and presentation did not live up to a fine dining expectation for this special occasion.
Our family of 5 attend the Mothers Day Brunch and our bill was almost $300 (they automatically added a 20% gratuity to the bill). The food that was offered at the buffet was definitely not worth the $. The desserts were a huge disappointment, the prime rib carving station was skimpy and the meat slightly overcooked. The food options were average - definitely not worth $45/plate. Will not be returning.
We took our Mother there for Mother’s Day. The restaurant is very pretty and has a lot of ambience. Our server TJ was awesome. I warned him that my mother was very particular. He did a great job at accommodating her requests.
The food was ok...not great by any means. Lamb Chops were tough as was my boyfriends steak. Filet Mignon should never be tough. The Shrimp and Scallops that 3 out of 6 at our table had was tasty. It’s a very pricey restaurant. Our bill with 4 glasses of wine was $354 before the tip. No appetizers, salads or desserts. I wouln’t have minded the price if the food was outstanding but... We will not return nor would I recommend this restaurant.
I will add that we did not bring our complaints to our servers attention. Just didn’t want to wait for food to be recooked or order another selection. So in fairness to Novi Chophouse, they were not given an opportunity to rectify.
I've been coming to Novi for years. This time everything was so salty from the bread, to the zip sauce to the tomatoe garnish on the plate. Was not very happy this time.
Very Dark, cheap painted drop ceiling, Dusty. Bathrooms were in the lobby and dirty. Food was excellent but I’ve had just as good of food for less money.
Great service. Food was very tasty. Their more popular and cost effective entrees were out of stock so we had to pay more for our meals ($25+ each) than we planned. Strong chlorine smell from pool.
Food is lousy, bad recommendation. Nothing impress me
Went for wife’s birthday service was inattentive food arrived over cooked from our request I wouldn’t recommend I wouldn’t go back
Server TJ was excellent! Entrees (filets) were exceptional. We will be back!!!
We always have a wonderful dining experience at Novi Chophouse. Food is always great.
Gotten VERY Expensive for the bone-in ribeye over the last couple years. No improvement in quality so may not do that one again. That was always my go to selection. Other meals that night were good. Also was noisy due to a large mtg party in a different room and door wide open.
My husband and I go every year for our anniversary. We always have a great experience. We did notice some changes however, they did not give us a negative impression. Our plan is to return next year.
