Great meal at Nuba. Nuba is one of our goto restaurants, the food is always excellent and the service as well.
Nice venue to catch up with friends, good food, good service. Great neighbourhood spot.

The service was horrible! the host said they were full because we didn’t have a reservation. I went on open table booked a table and was able to get in... The service was awful, I won’t be back!
Excellent food, appropriately attentive service. It was a busy night and there was mild confusion with orders but everything was quickly rectified.

My second time back to this restaurant and location. Food was ok... nothing earthshattering. I remember it was better the first time. Chicken portion was good, but the accompanying vegetables was sparse. The shrimp appetizer was very good.
Nuba is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. I always get La Feast, shared with whoever I'm with. This was my first time at the Kitsilano location, and it has the best ambiance. My friend is celiac and was able to eat with no worries of gluten contamination. The only thing off was the service wasn't as good as Gastown, and they brought all of our food out at the same time as opposed to appetizers first as they usually would.
So lovely. Great atmosphere and sharing plates so you can enjoy more than one dish. Would go back!
Fantastic all around. Only drawback was they asked us to leave at 10pm on a Saturday night because they were closing.
Like the share plates at Nuba but we booked in advance for a family birthday and weren’t advised a wedding was taking place. Extremely loud, literally could not hear our own conversation, had to point at the menu. Food came to table fairly quickly but was not hot. This also could have been related to the wedding party. No consideration given to other guests that were trying to have their own celebration. Should have shut the place down for private party or at very least notified us when reservation was made
The food and our server were both very good, however there was a lady trying to rush us out at the end that wasn’t cool. Also, we didn’t get our OpenTable points and had to contact customer service.
The service was good as was the food. All this was enhanced by the decor and, as odd as it may seem, knowing the hisory of the place, used to be Orestes. It was a bit noisy but that's not all that relevant, I;m old.

My wife and I tried Nuba for the first time this weekend. We managed to get a reservation for 5:30, which is a bit early, but we had a show to see and they were all booked up anyway. We later realized they're full booking was no coincidence.
The building was gorgeous! I asked a few staff and they could only say that it was previously a Greek restaurant, however it appeared to have been a house at one time. It's not your normal open area restaurant; there are tables squeezed into all kinds of nooks and crannies. It felt as if we were in a repurposed Mediterranean Villa. The layout made it feel a bit tight which is why I put ambience at four stars, however if you're okay sitting close to those around you it was truly a beautiful building.
Now I am not a food critic so I won't be able to use all the proper terms or even remember exactly what the dishes were called, but I'll try my best. We were really excited to try the three dip appetizer with pita. There was regular hummus, carrot hummus, and beat hummus. All three were delicious. We also ordered the cauliflower even though we weren't expecting to like it. We were caught way off guard by how absolutely amazing it was!! I would recommend it very highly!
We ordered the beef brisket as our entree. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth delicious as were the vegetables and mashed potatoes.
For dessert we ordered chocolate cake and rice pudding. Both were delicious but you definitely have to have a taste for rice pudding, which I do.
The service was great, our waitress was very kind and sweet. The food came and a very timely manner, and they were quick to provide the little extras that we asked for.
As I mentioned earlier, because you're sitting close to your neighbour and it was a full house, it was a bit loud. But I would definitely not let that stop you from trying it out.
As for value two courses at $35 for the dino Vancouver 2020 deal was well worth it.
Celebrated, for the second year, our daughter’s birthday.
Our waitress was great and the food was delivered so fast. The food was delicious and we were easily able to accommodate gluten free.
We came for a pre-concert dinner and the food and service was excellent. Our group of six shared small plates and ate a variety of items. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.
Excellent, as always! Great menu...the Spiced Prawns were perfect. Cozy atmosphere for casual dinner. Highly recommend!

New Year’s Eve dinner at Nuba was great. Service, ambience and food quality were excellent. However the flavours were less intense and less middle eastern than we expected, hence 4 not 5 stars.

Both the staff and food are amazing. The feast menu makes it easier for a group of 10 of us to decide on the menu instead of picking individual tapa styled dishes.
I booked a table for 5 to celebrate the year end with coworkers and family. We tried most of the signature dishes which were ok. All of the potatoes in each dish were cold? Flavour was minimal, we all expected more from Lebanese food.
Four of us ate here on Thursday evening prior to going to a concert at St. James Hall. Our waiter whose name I regret I don’t remember was excellent...friendly, professional and conscious of our time. We all enjoyed our food choices which were delicious!!
All of us were freezing. Felt like the AC was on in the middle of winter. Service was really slow. We couldn't order for a long time. For payment, we just went up to the cashier for faster process. Ambience and decor is really cozy and romantic. Food is always very tasty.

Great experience at Nuba in Kits. I've visited their Gastown location a few times and tried this one out as we needed a booking for a larger group of us. The restaurant was very accommodating in adding an extra table to fit in two extra people on the night with no complaints!
The food was as expected and up to the same good standard as their Gastown location. The guests all enjoyed their array of mezzes and mains with the only "complaint" being there was a lot of hummus with each dish. The drinks did take some time to arrive in the beginning, but the food was quick to be served.
Service was attentive and our server was great! All in all a great night for everyone.
Horrible food! We ordered the deluxe feast platter and not only was it a rip off at $34 per person but the food was very poor quality. Based on my experience I suspect the meat skewers were not cooked to order but pre-cooked and warmed up. The cooked food was not hot, juicy nor succulent morsels but dry and lukewarm. Don’t waste your money here. If you like plant based food go to the Acorn, a resto that’s spot on every time!

A group of friends decided to celebrate our birthdays with brunch at Nuba Kitsilano. The food was good as usual. At the end of the meal, we asked for forks to share two pieces of cake we brought in from Purebread and were politely informed that to have plates and forks for cake would be a charge of $2 each (we declined). I realize that one shouldn't bring outside food into a restaurant, but I haven't come across a policy like this for birthday cake before. Especially in this context, a brunch, where the restaurant wasn't busy and we only wanted forks. We had appetizers, drinks, and full meals each, so the up-charge seemed inconsistent with the level of service we have come to expect from a great restaurant like Nuba.
Dinner was absolutely great. We were 3 girls and we ordered the vegetarian feast for 3 and it was almost too much food. Maybe we ate too much naan!
There was quite a long stretch between first and second course of the feast but perhaps we only noticed because we were in a rush to get to the theatre on Granville Island. We should have told our server that ahead of time so our mistake.
The only issue I had with value was the 8 oz glass of Chianti was a little pricey at $24 - next time red wine out of the tap will do as it was about $10 cheaper.

We were unfamiliar with menu and how best to order for party of 10. I had very little assistance or recommendation from server. We all left starving
Went to Nuba in Kits for a couples night out with friends. Two vegetarians and two meat eaters. We ordered the the Le Feast (vegetarian) and Le Grand Feast (with lamb, prawns, chicken skewers). Great flavours and a lot of food (although the meat eaters felt the meat portions were a bit small), great service and nice atmosphere. Alcoholic drinks are on the expensive side but overall a great evening. Will definitely return.
