5-star on all counts for me. Superb food and a lovely room (and not deafening...always a key for me). Very highly recommended. I can't wait to go back.
Delicious, fresh, authentic Lebanese food. Highly recommended.
We were there fir celebrating my Bday!! The most horriable expirence I ever had! Don’t even know where to start, first of all when we got there table was never ready even though we had a reservation for 10! Secondly the server was the worst server ever!! She was inattentive and very unhappy to be serving ... we ordered drinks it took her half an hour to arrive after flagging the hostess and reminding her that we need our server. Then she would show up and with some drinks without taking other people orders and leave again for 15 min...She always waited for us to call for waters, drinks ,food and she would just drop them at the top of the table and make others to pass around the waters for her...I guess this is what happens when you automatically charge 18% gratuity on the bill and force people pay for the service they never had!!!! After a long time when She brought of the food which was so sloppy and tasteless!!! Then she decided to bring the protein part of the food in a separate plate after we were done the second corse which looked like they forgot to send it out then after they remembered they decided to bring it!!!! I’ve been in a lot of meditranian Resturants around the world never has such bad experience on food the Resturant itself as well as the service!!! We paid almost 500$ to be served some cold and sloppy felafel and cauliflower $$. I forgot to mention this when my friends asked for candles or some deserts for me she came and said I will go check with my manager and will let you know .... No sign of Bday acknowledged nor she cared that it was my Bday..I brought my friends there to have a good time and for different experience and Mediterranean ambiance , this was far from it all!!!
Delicious Lebanese food with some good gluten free options, marked on menu.
Favourite resto in town. Always great food and service.
Excellent food and very good service rounds out a great meal at Nuba. Extensive authentic menu choices that are well excuted. The staff is very friendly and efficient.
My wife and I have been to Nuba's on several occasions for dinner in the past. Sadly, had I known what was coming, I think we would have not gone that evening. The front counter staff seemed surprised at our arrival and scrambled to find us a table in the back courtyard despite a reservation. There was a large gathering of university students out for a meal at a nearby table and it was extremely noisy. It appeared that there were not enough staff on as the poor waitress forgot about us off and on and other tables as she did her best to serve people. There was no Howling Moon Cider that I ordered and I ordered Malbec red wine instead that on tasting, was clearly not a Malbec. The food was good, but at the end of our meal we ordered a coffee, which never came, but fortunately were not charged for. The atmosphere and conversation was extremely difficult and the only thing I felt like doing was leaving quickly after a long work week once the bill had been paid. Surely large groups could be put in a specific section/room? Maybe have more staff on for a Friday night when it gets busy? My wife and I will go to Nuba's again, but not for a long while...
We found the pita bread to be below par, seemed stale
We reserved at the restaurant for 10+ persons on a friday night and they have provided us with a private, quite large room, we could bring our own alcohol with an 18$ per bottle cork fee and own cake with a fee of 1.5$ per person --- this was great and quite a rare find in Vancouver !
The food was the problem -- they strongly suggested we get a shared menu at a fixed cost of 28$ per person --- lentil, rice, lentil, rice was taking the bulk of the food portion. Food was fairly tasteless, no strong nuances between plates and the portion were small (especially for the 3rd course/ main plate) everyone was strongly disappointed. Food is in no way similar to the food you would find in the Gastown Nuba, which is amazing!
We were disappointed by the experience in Kits as we know how good this food can be, under the same restaurant name, just 10 mioin drive away --- hopefully they are undergoing some changes in the kitchen an situation will be fixed ... but currently would avoid and go to other locations of Nuba or to Jamjar. Even if everything else was making for a great group dinner, having all your friends disappointed by the food and thinking it was overpriced doesn't lead to a good experience.
The food was mostly flavourful and tasty. However, the garden falafel was very bland. The selection for dessert was also quite limited. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, I'd say it was a positive experience.
Stopped in for date night - had an overall okay experience. Was my second time at the location. Unfortunately my partner's steak took about an hour to get to the table, with some delay in all other dishes as well. Overall fine experience. Our server offered us desserts on the house to make up for the wait. Ambiance is nice, although with the front windows open it was quite chilly around the end of August.
Spectacular Lebanese food served in generous portions, very pleasant interior if a little dark away from the windows (some might like that). Highly recommended. Don't miss the cauliflower.
Great food and nice atmosphere. Only the interior design and finish is a little shabby in places. Serve staff not super friendly but overall the vibe is relaxed.
Co-worker’s work anniversary
Excellent service from our Waiter, we were no rushed at all.
The food was very good, how ever the helpings were rather small for the price $$ 15. OO for each of our main course...
Very convenient location for both of us..
Thank you Grania
The quality of the food was disappointing. The roasted cauliflower tasteless. The lamb shanks were not tender at all. It was bland and tasteless. The saffron chicken had no aroma whatsoever. Might be a good idea to change the name to dry grilled chicken.
It was a very hot night, and the restaurant had a large group order just before ours did, but the staff went out of their way to ensure we were provided ice water, drinks and food and that we knew when to expect our orders to come. We felt well cared for in circumstances that must have been challenging.
Share plate gave good value for our group of eight.
We sent back the pitcher of sangria— sugary sweet and insipid—a non-starter. Skewers were pretty good although the prawns were very spicy and the lamb was a bit disappointing.
Really enjoyed the tasting platter as it was our first visit there and we were delighted to be able to try so many choices from the menu. Each were delicious!
Good food; music too loud at lunch for business conversation
The food is very tasty, with fresh ingredients and interesting taste combinations. The service was superb - attentive but not cloying. Every time I go, I wonder why I don't come here more often!
Ordered the saffron chicken, was very good but the vegetables severed with were very bland and raw and horrible.
I've been to this particular Nuba location on Broadway multiple times and have been attended by diligent and attentive waitstaff, but the 5:45 shift was a huge disappointment this past Saturday evening. It's really something when you have to ask for the sauces to be served with your cauliflower dish and get up to fill your own water.
Food was delicious and more than we could eat! Took some home for lunch the next day. There is no air conditioning so we were quite warm. Noisy for us but we are old!
We ordered multiple dishes and its portions are huge. We liked Most of the dishes except for the lamb shank that needs to spend time in the pressure cooker. It was tough and hard to chew. I didn’t finished it considering the price i paid for that. Such a waste.
I had made a reservation noting there would be a baby and they were exceptionally family and baby accommodating. We were tucked away in a corner with enough room for baby stuff but not forgotten at all in service despite being tucked away.
The one in downtown is much better. Staff there is much more warm and service oriented.
I always get the share plate with people, great Lebanese food in the heart of Kitsilano. If it's warm outside, definitely request an outdoor table and enjoy the sun and some great Mediterranean food.
Great patio-esque seating area, had a bit of everything on the menu it was all overpriced. The serrvice was friendly but not very knowledgeable except one young woman. Poorly stocked bar and weak drinks.
Food was over seasoned and should have been hot but was cold.
Lamb was previously cooked and heated somehow but cold inside.
Food itself was so seasoned that you did not know what it was and then there were dips to season the seasoning.
The salad was fresh.
The whole thing felt like a money grab.
I will not go back and I will warn others from going to that location.
The table next to me complained too. They said that their food was cold.
Great variety of vegetarian and vegan foods. Very tasty.
Waiter a bit abrupt at times. Ordered 3 bottles of one type of red wine, they only had 2, reordered a different bottle, this arrived in a carafe, when questioned were told this wine was dispensed from a keg, menu said bottle. Poor selection of white wines. Food very good.
Wonderful food and service. Everything was great.
Many years ago this spot was Orestes Greek Restaurant and well known for the it's ambience, food, and entertainment. The restaurant itself is now rundown and I am sorry to say, but the food and service was poor. The waitress was slow in offering us drinks, repeatedly interrupted our conversation, leaned over us when serving, and when my dinner came it was cold. It was disappointing, not sure if they were under staffed or what was going on.
We enjoyed the dinner however it was a bit noisy. We were seated directly below a speaker and the base was quite loud. We did ask to move but there was nothing available. My drink was a bit long in coming. I think there was someone being trained and a large party in.
The food was good with lots of vegetarian options available.
Went here for the first time, for my birthday celebration this past week and absolutely loved it.
Had a last minute party size change, so I called the restaurant the day of. Staff were extremely kind and friendly- I would definitely recommend this spot just based off that fact alone! On top of that, the food was fantastic, there were so many options for both carnivores & vegetarians (like myself). The food was ready before I would have expected, since it was a party of 10, and we were all extremely impressed.
Last but not least: the red sangria here is to die for!!!! I’ve never had a Sangria I enjoyed as much (and I drink a lot of sangria...)!
Thank you so much for contributing to making my birthday night so wonderful.
I’m a fan of Nuba and I brought my client from Florida as I rave about Nuba.
His meal was not very good but mine was delicious.
My second tine here and really enjoyed myself just like the first time... such tasty and delicious good, with attentive and quick service. I’ll be back soon. Healthy and didn’t feel overly full with... just right!!
Great ambience & service. Nice place to sit down for a meal.
I really wanted to love the food but that did not work out.
Meaty part of the meal (lamb & chicken) was ok. No complaints there.
The vegetarian part was so, so.
The pita bread was served cold. It was of industrial quality - thin and hard.
Hummus was not convincing in neither in quality or quantity. Same goes for Baba Ghannoj.
Neither olives nor pickels were served. Those would be an essential part.
Najib's special couliflower were definitely not crispy.
Food was delicious
Staff very good
