Canteen is always a great quick stop for a patio or indoor dining. We were going to a show after and the timing was perfect. We left with full stomachs and happy palates.

the location is great but the food was terrible and the restaurant did not seem clean? there were several flies landing on the food, the avocado salad had little to no avocado but was mostly iceberg lettuce drowned in too much dressing, and the steak frites was not tasty. the meat was tough and tasted as if there was literally no seasoning whatsover. the frenchfries were excellent though. my partners pasta was ok to middling nothing notable at all.

We enjoyed everything we had - Avocado and Chips, Hawaiian Pizza, Smashburger and Caesar salad. Portions are generous but not overwhelming. We like that you can reserve for the patio and it's covered, albeit, just a bit noisy with the streetcar going by.

Was told they were out of fish and chips but then tables seated after us were able to order it. Would have ordered more drinks but the drinks we did order were slow to come and server seemed overwhelmed with other tables

We had a wonderful time. Sat at the high top outside where the whole world walks by. Eric, our waiter was brilliant. Smart, funny, fast & totally on it. The food was delicious - shared a Poke Bowl & Avocado Salad - then the chocolate for dessert. It's a bit pricey but maybe I just don't go out much anymore. For pre-theatre - it was perfect. Thanks Eric!

The food was only average, I've had much better burgers for less. The espresso was weak with no crema. And i can't remember less comfortable chairs. First time ever I had to stand and give my butt a break

Tonight’s pre Hadestown meal was pretty great at Canteen as usual BUT our server Sicily was amazing and definitely made our whole night. She provided the right amount of attention, made great menu recommendations and was just the right amount of personality for the vibe of location and location. See you next time!

The Hawaiian pizza was not up to O&B standards. The pieces of barbequed pork were like leather and looked old. We did not dare eat them. The pizza was also burnt. The server told us he would notify the chef but there was no communication from the kitchen.

It has been a few months since our last visit and things were as we expected. The patio is open and so were the doors and it was noisier than usual. The same great food and service. UT was a busy Saturday, we had a reservation for 12:15 and showed up a few minutes early and were promptly seated. It was busier than usual, but service didn't suffer. Great brunch as usual.

We had 3 guests. We all had avocado toast with poached eggs. Since it's a simple, popular choice we thought it would be incredible. Especially at $15 a head. Unfortunately it was lack luster. The bread was cheap, the avocado was spread very thin, the eggs small and flavour less. This is not the kind of quality I remember O & B striving for. I worked for them for 15 years. Too bad.

Our waitress was lovely. The happy hour was good and the food was delicious. The only thing I did not like was paying over $3 for a gluten free bun. I cannot control my allergies, and it is not a choice.

Greeted by a gracious hostess who sat us at an outside table. Young busboy asked about water and drinks. Waitress took our order of shared crisp calamari as an appetizer and three orders of the French connection burger. Busboy was asked for a container of mayo which never arrived. Burgers were brought to the table quickly but we had not received the calamari. We reminded the waitress and it was eventually brought when burgers were finished. Calamari was soggy rather than crispy. Our prev dinner there was much better.

The server did a great job with a special request based on a food allergy - the kitchen didn’t follow the server’s note - they re-plated the dish on a cold plate resulting in an essentially cold breakfast. Not the server’s fault -

We went here for the summerlicious menu. I’m hopeful that they were just having an off day, but based on this experience I would never go back. I’m a big O&B fan, and this just did not meet the mark. Incredibly overcooked, and under seasoned fish. Pasta that had an aftertaste of a paper bag and water that we couldn’t drink due to being so stale and fishy. Not once did our server check in about the food, they watched me struggling to remove a bug from my dish and ignored it. The spicy tuna tartar was the highlight, and really the only thing I would recommend.

Very helpful waitress who recommended the pasta dish on the summerlicious menu as an entree on its' own to suit my desire for a dish that would be calming for a temporarily agitated tummy. Also suggested peppermint tea. Partner loved his pizza and I loved the pasta and we were very happy about our choice to come to OBcanteen!

Service was friendly and efficient, but there was a long delay between appetizers and main course. One of us was disappointed by the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and felt it was just so-so, but that was the only complaint about the food. Cocktails were interesting and very good. A nice patio for summer lunch, close to the theatres. We will go again.
