I've had a great time and my guests loved it! I will definitely come again.
After waiting almost 50 minutes for the event to begin, our service, unfortunately, was terrible. We were the absolute last table to be served anything, and that was only after a lady at our table went to speak to the manager. We weren't even offered water as we waited for about 30 minutes. My glass of Prosecco was forgotten all together and I had to remind our waitress. And the last straw, I'm sorry to say, was the very evident body odour coming from our waitress. Didn't make for pleasant snacking as she leaned over us to put items on the table. And lastly, no one at our table was presented with a final bill. So... because I reserved a "table for 2" with my credit card, does that mean my friend's tab was charged to my card?? Not organized at ALL!
Haven't been in many years since my brother got married. Had a great time...great food & beautiful place. Will definitely be going back in the summer to walk around & maybe use the spa too! Thank you!
The brunch buffet was fantastic, food and service were both wonderful. Highly recommend it!
Excellent venue, live music and big dance floor that was packed!
This building is beautiful by day but creepy at night. That old world feeling in a cozy place. A place that caters old folks that loved dinner and dance. We came here for winterlicious dinner. The staff are very friendly. The Mediterranean Sea Bass is delicious but I don't like the baked green apple for my dessert. It's like you're eating 1 big hot apple.
food was good, winterlicious menu. found tables twosomes close together, don't talk about your affair.
and parking was a challenge, unfortunate old mill doesnt have their own parking.
Terrible!! We went it for a Winterlicious dinner and were really disappointed. The service, the food, the experience were unpleasant. Below average. And arugula salad had a few shavings of cheese, a few pieces of the asparagus stump and lemon juice! The barley resoto wasn't seasoned and tasted like pig's food .... dessert...no comments. Save your money & go somewhere else!
Came innfor their Sunday lunch buffet. Great variety and food stations frequenly topped up.
The manager and the server is great
The open table may an mistake and wrong information given to guest
But they offer me the great service and deal
Found the staff rude and rushed. Yes I was 15 min. Late and agree this was not cool on my part but the rest of my party was there on time. To the staff, It’s never anyone’s intention to be late and we know When we are late and I made an apology upon arrival but didn’t feel the need apologize the next 2 interactions I had with the staff. We are made aware at the time of booking you are only allotted 2 hours for our setting so it’s on us if we arrive late. Get over yourselves!
I have been to the Old Mill many times and have always enjoyed it but must admit that this time the waffles were terrible(overcooked) and service was not up to its usual standards.
The Old Mill is one of our favorite places to visit. The old fashioned ambiance is unbeatable!
All 4 of us were sick 30 minutes after we ate. No Exaggeration!
The Old Mill is a wonderful step back in time with classic British Tudor architecture. The food and service were great!
The WInterlicious lunch was delicious. We were given a quiet table where we could relax, and were not rushed in any way. The menu was varied and would serve a wide range of tastes from vegetarian to meat. The dishes we chose were delicious and well presented. Service was discrete and friendly. I would definitely recommend any of the dining rooms at the Old Mill.
The restaurant lighting is very dim. Ordered medium rare steak. By the time I got to the centre slices of steak found it rare/blue. When i mentioned it to the waiter was told I was told that if I mention the fact at the beginning of the meal they could have replaced it. I only realized how uncooked the steak was once I took a bite because the lighting is so low you can't actually see the color of your food.
I went to the winterlicious website then got redirected to Open Table. Booked a time slot. When I got to Old Mill, they said that there’s no winterlicious that day but they have an Afternoon Tea. I wish Winterlicious and Open Table scheduling were synced. The Afternoon Tea was good but my appetite that day was for a 3-course meal.
Food could of been better in both - taste and variety. Not impressed. Otherwise, nice place to dine with family, good service.
The show was fabulous and the food was sumptuous. The server is hospitable and excellent.
The food was swerved luke warm. The gravy was a thick goop which seemed artificial. The veg's were over cooked. The Soup was acidic tomato. The Shrimp cocktail was awful: the shrimp were old and tasteless and the cocktail sauce was bland. The desert was very plain cheese cake with little or no taste. The service was problematic. We were ignored for most of the meal. Once the first glass of wine was served, it was up to us to serve ourselves. The gaps between courses were long. It seemed that the only time we saw any activity by the staff was near the end when it was apparent that they were trying to clear everything away to be ready to serve the next day's lunch.
the entertainment was advertised as a review of Beatles music. In fact, it was a melange of a lot of music from the late 50s and early 60s. The Beatles music that was played was very early with absolutely nothing played that was written during there most productive and creative period. The group would literally give up on some of the passages because they either had not rehearsed sufficiently or because they did not give a damn. Most of their errors were covered up by the very loud volume.
Was very disappointed after looking at the menu online and deciding to eat a the restaurant that the 2 dishes I had planned on ordering were no longer being served. The white wine (by the glass) list had 4 pinot Grigios and not a single Riesling, Gewertztramieiner, or anything palatable. Opted for the polenta, and it was a horrible sticky, lumpy mush. The pork was great, but the baked apple for dessert was mealy and really gross. Service was impeccable as always. There were a couple lights that kept flickering during our entire meal, and were very distracting to enjoying our meal. We usually love Old Mill but this meal left a bad taste in our mouth.
We were married at the Old Mill chapel on November 14, 1980. The chapel was all lit with candles. Truly romantic.
We were in the room above the dining room.
This allowed for dancing of our 45 guests.
We return sparingly each year to enjoy the food, ambience, and the dancing.
See you soon!!!!
I visited Old Mill during busy Winterlicious time. Pros: beautiful venue, the staff made efforts to accommodate the unexpected number of guests, desserts were good , one of the starters was good (Creamy Herb Polenta).
Cons: a wait time to get a table for 30 minutes despite having a reservation, a food item we chose from the Winterlicious menu of 3 mains was not available, food was average (baby Arugula salad was very minimal not much of ingredients apart from baby Arugula!, very noisy and many people dining at the same time, not good for a romantic date or privacy. If you go with a large group and book a whole hall, maybe you feel better. Also make sure if you are booking for an event that food is important for you, go for food tasting before the event.
I loved the venue but I won't go back or recommend for dining because I think the most important evaluation factor for a restaurant is the food and my food experience (based on this one time!) was mixed.
If you're looking for a fun brunch place, or a weekend get together, the Old Mill Inn is definitely the place to go!
One of the only buffets in a classic setting.
Great service and excellent value.
Winterlicious set menu great choices good value for money
After attending Winterlicious at the Old Mill Toronto on Friday January 25th, I have to say I was extremely impressed. We arrived right at 6pm for our seating and were immediately tended to by our server. There are great drink selections available and the Winterlicious menu was awesome. All three courses arrived hot, were great sized portions and arrived with an appropriately spaced pause between courses. Eating the baked apple dessert was a bit challenging and it took a little bit too long to get our bill settled (we were in a hurry - but it was super busy), but other than that, the entire evening was fabulous.
The experience was so bad I wrote a review on Yelp.
I will never return.
Wonderful environment with nice service, good for friends cheating time
My husband and parents had a lovely dinner at the buffet. We frequently come to the Sunday Brunch. The dinner was delicious (mashed potatoes were very good as was the smoked salmon and the pasta dish). The turkey pot pie was tasty.
The atmosphere at the Old Mill is absolutely wonderful: we love the old world charm, the cozy feeling...all the details. Don’t change a thing! Keep it feeling like it does: cozy..like being in the English countryside inn somewhere.
We really enjoy the lunch buffet! The cheese selection and hot chicken dishes are always outstanding. There was a chicken dish we loved...can’t remember the name now. Anyway, excellent service and excellent meal! Thank you!
My only real disappointment was that we were there to celebrate an anniversary and used a life experiences card for our meal. The experience came with the Sunday evening buffet for two, two glasses of house wine and a memento to take home for $130.00. We did not receive any memento because we were told that they were out of them. We tipped our server of course. When comparing the wine price and buffet price to the $130.00 for the life experiences, we seemed to have paid an extra $20 for nothing. It would have been cheaper for us to just the buy the buffet and wine ourselves for around $110.00. I thought that the memento might make the night something we could remember for our anniversary, but we weren't offered anything in it's place. We also had to ask for the memento in the first place, in stead of being told up front about it. We were simply told that they were out, so we left empty handed without anyone trying to rectify the situation. Thank You.
the room temperature was too low, I was cold sitting in the back corner. But it didnt take away from the general enjoyment. Thank you...
Was rather disappointed with the food. Too many creamy saucy dishes. Many of them tasted "sweet" when they shouldn't have been (i.e., pasta, shrimp salad). Only two choices of meat - chicken or roast beef. Just didn't like the food in general. It seemed like Miracle Whip was used in a lot of stuff. Not good. Not much variety for the price. Poor choice of desserts. Didn't see fresh fruit. Overall, a disappointment. Won't go there again. Nice place, though. Lovely, friendly service. But it was rather dark in the room.
Greate service! Stayed for lunch and tea. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Food was average at best, no omlette stations to get a customized omlette. Carved ham was dry, pre-made salads were salty. Only good thing was the Prime Rib.
Very attentive service from waiters
Greeted promptly and professionally by host
Food good and setting is relaxing
The bar was fun too
This is the first time our family visited Old Mill and first impression was the best one!
We went for my wife’s birthday. It was a very quiet Wednesday in January. Service was attentive. They had only two Scotches available of several listed in the menu. The sea bass was a large portion nicely cook. The pork chop was delicious. They presented us with a complimentary birthday slice of blackberry cheesecake. The flavour was lovely but the cheesecake was dense. A very nice night but expensive. We went to the pub afterwards for great jazz.
Went for the annual Ukrainian Christmas Buffet, food was good for a buffet but I don't know if it was quite worth the price. Very nicely decorated and professional staff.
