We went to The Old Mill for Easter Brunch. Servers were fantastic and food was delicious! Lots of choices. Will come next year for sure. Well done Old Mill!
Good Friday brunch with family
Food was great, not salty. Good for senior and kids. High quality and you can see they pick and examine each pieces they used. The prime rib was nice for the first round but start became well done as I believe the whole batch was cooked at the same time. Oyster was fresh and fat but not much favour. Cocktail shrimps were huge! Lots of choices and freshly made. Would definitely go back on regular bunch also. We were expecting a Easter bunny visit as it was what listed for the Easter Weekend but then was told only available on Sunday. My kids were a bit disappointed about that.
Enjoyed a lovely delicious dinner for my birthday!! Will visit again soon!!
The past two times the food had slipped in greatness but this time was EXCELLENT.
Keep up the great going. Will always be my "special" go to place.
Celebrated my mom’s 72 birthday, she loved the ambiance and enjoyed her meal.
A lovely experience. Everyone dressed up, baby showers happening in other rooms, the food and atmosphere were great.
It was a very disappointing evening we had a calamari starter it was not good and a prime rib main course which was terrible.
Maria is amazing please tell this waitress how important she is to your organization. Service impeccable. She even brought me a piece of birthday cake with candle. As a server and representative of the old mill she is the soul of propriety and decorum
Thanks for everything nit was a wonderful.party
I would not recommend it for the afternoon experience. Great place and service; however many things were missing from the afternoon tea: 1- traditional afternoon tea cups, we got just regular white coffee mugs. 2 - the tea options did not include English Breakfast tea. 3- we got packaged sugar instead of the cube sugars that are normally served with afternoon tea. 4- the food choices did not include the traditional cucumber sandwiches. 5- the decor was very bland not up to the expectations.
The staff and food are absolutely superb. Thank you for all your efforts and hard work.
Since we were 88 and 85 and both diabetic the main course was all we were interested in and found it to be very good, but lacking in choices apart from egg dishes.
I also noticed younger people with plates overflowing on each trip and felt in some way that it wasn't fair that seniors who eat very little to be charged the same price.
The couple we brought with us were chefs, the man was a Parisian chef and trained in Paris. The lady was from the Philipnes and learned her craft in Toronto under a Canadian Chef, both said the food was good but far too expensive for the choices offered. I wanted them to experience the OLD MILL.
Enjoyed the food and its a pretty cool building. The only thing I would warn about is make sure you understand what the entertainment is for the night you chose to go. They have a very popular big band night so the food and service was great... can't say I blended into the crowd all that well.
I had a most enjoyable time at the Old Mill Toronto on Saturday night. We were late due to some trouble on the TTC, but the staff were most accommodating and saved our table for us. It's a beautiful venue, in a quaint, almost rural setting, where I am fairly certain that there actually used to be a mill there at one point in time in the city of old Toronto.
The staff were friendly and courteous and made sure that we got our food in a timely manner, despite the large amount of people that were dining there that night. The soup appetizer that I had was excellent, and my main meal (the sea bass) was divine. My date had the prime rib which he declared excellent. And the best part was seeing the entertainment - the jazz band that they had playing that night was wonderful, and I especially enjoyed dancing to all the classic jazz tunes! I would definitely go back to the Old Mill again if I could.
Great day lunch here！
Dark and outdated. We didn’t want the buffet lunch and ordered from the menu. Definitely not up to standard.
Everything about our dining/entertainment experience was just below fair. And I'm sorry, but charging $15 per person cover charge to listen to a DJ play some tunes to an an almost empty dance floor seems excessive. Spending $200 for the night... I just don't see any value in this. The venue is beautiful and that fortunately is what we focussed on.
No better place to celebrate a special occasion. The food assortment was good, as was the service.
Went for st patricks day celebration. Angus beef stew was very tough. Way overcooked. Drink talen off table when drink was still left. Have eaten at Ancaster. Was so delicious. Not the case this time.
My family and I really enjoyed our mom's Birthday lunch buffet at The Old Mill . Service was prompt, friendly and very courteous.
The food was excellent. Many choices from appetizer to desserts!! The stations were refreshed often which made it pleasant to choose for each course. The ambiance is unique at the Old Mill. I will definitely return for my dad's birthday in May !
We did arrive somewhat late for a 1 p.m. reservation, but service was quite rushed. I.e., I ordered a glass of wine, and even before it arrived our waiter was pushing us to order.
My 9-year old grandson had the buffet, but by he time we'd been served and he was going for desert, the area was being cleared.
My choices above were Yes or No. If available, I probably would have voted "maybe"!
We waited for a while to be seated after booking a reservation a month in advance. We were put in the hallway but when asked to be reseated the staff accommodated us. I have been to the Old Mill numerous times but haven’t gone for a while. My experience at Casa Loma for high tea was a much better experience.
Great place to sit and chat with great food. Looking forward to my next visit.
We thought there would be a band playing on a Saturday night, unfortunately, there was no band and the main restaurant dining room was closed and we were seated in the back area of the restaurant with few customers.. kind of disappointed because on the website it indicated that there was entertainment.. oh well...
Maria served us like we were her family. Enjoyed a beautiful lunch and came back the next day for brunch.
Birthday buffet lunch for my daughter’s 18th. Food and service were impeccable - definitely one of our favourite places! Emily was an outstanding server!
The atmosphere and service were good. They have a good (and different from others) selection of food. It'd have been nicer if they are able to keep their hot food items hot. It's a bit on the expensive side but considering the location and settings, I think it's very reasonable.
Sunday Brunch at the Old Mill did not disappoint! We attended as a party of five (3 adults and two children, who are 10 and 8 years old) to celebrate a special occasion. The food was of high quality and delicious! It is fancier than most brunch places, but that is expected, given the venue. The service was impeccable - the staff was very attentive. Overall, this was an exceptional experience.
We enjoyed the venue immensely. We attended the Advocats Big Band event on March 2,2019 (Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald). Overall, this was an outstanding venue with great cozy ambiance well-suited to the music. The acoustics were fabulous. The dance floor was put to good use by many couples enjoying Nina Richmond singing. We would love to come back for another fun evening should this entertainment be booked again.
We also enjoyed a Calamari appetizer, Sea Bass as well as the Old Mill Cheesecake.
Some tables are setting too close to each other; just a little gap for people to get out! No server came over to our table till the tables beside us were seated and served!?
Soup was warm - I like hot. Meat/fish selections were so-so. Water glasses were topped up regularly. A littler pricey for lunch buffet. How about a seniors' discount - we don't eat as much as the younger set. I hate having to pay for parking to attend your restaurant.
Great place, lots of parking, great value, lunch buffet Wednesday to Saturday
The best was the prime rib and the baby shrimp salad.
The only part that was not enjoyable was the noise level. Tip is go early. Less people.
A little drafty where we were sitting, and I was sad to learn that there was no omelette bar, but other then that it was wonderful! I thought maybe they would have a special dish or two for family day, but it didn’t look like it. That’s ok though, food was warm, tasty and water and coffee were refilled quickly. Was a lovely time!
My husband and I were at the restaurant for special Family Day brunch. It was my first time there. I like the atmosphere. Understandably, selections are not as wide as some other buffet restaurants, but the food that they had available taste really good. They had the chocolate fountain because of Family Day special. One of the waitresses told us midway through our meal that coffee and tea are included for free. The only thing we missed having in other buffets is ice cream.
Went for Sunday dinner buffet for Mum's birthday. Service was excellent, very accommodating and attentive. Would have liked more hot food items.
The brunch was out of this world! So many choices and so delicious. Cannot wait to return.
Celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday at the Sunday brunch. With lots of different food likes, dislikes and sensitivities this is a ideal solution. Everyone enjoyed their lunch.
