This was my first buffet at the Old Mill. It was for Father's Day and as expected very busy. Considering it is a buffet, I was surprised to see servers were not clearing tables very quickly. We weren't asked if we wanted a second drink, coffee, tea, and I had to ask for the bill after sitting at the table with a dirty plate and an empty glass for some time.
It wasn't awful but I don't think I'll be back for a buffet. Also, the food stations are very close to each other and it's difficult to move around with that many people.
The food was delicious.
Dingy place with dirty old carpets that need to be replaced. Washrooms are old and need updating. The ham was delicious, pasta and salmon were tasteless. Very mediocre. I would not go there again. Very over rated. The service was excellent. Even the Mandarin was better and cleaner. I was very disappointed. The whole place needs to be cleaned out. Dirty.
This was our fourth (and final) visit for Father’s Day Brunch. For an 11 am seating the dining room was full and it was necessary to wait in line a long line for the buffet. Every year we have felt more and more crowded. The salads were delicious and fresh; however, when you finally reached the hot food it was ‘acceptable’ but no different from your average cafeteria style food. Disappointingly, the desserts were the worst we have ever seen at a buffet. We are sad that we will not return because we did look forward to this outing every year.
We were very disappointed with our experience with Father's Day brunch at the Old Mill. We reserved about two months early, we requested a round table with a nice view for 10 people. We arrived and the message was relayed that our request was being granted. Only to find out, that the table was given out to someone else and we were seated in an older room looking out to a wall. Very over priced for what we received. Very disappointed.
It was excellent!
Excellent dining experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The setting is classical and pleasant, and the food was delicious.
I've been to the Old Mill for afternoon tea, which isn't that stellar for the cost.
This time I went for the brunch buffet and was blown away at the quality of the food for the price. Especially for someone following a keto diet, there were many options to have without feeling like you were left out. The only thing I would change would be the chocolate fountain. Dark chocolate goes so much better with strawberries than milk chocolate...
food quality and selection less than the value. we paid more
Servers and food were very good. However we were disappointed that they started taking the food away when several tables were still having lunch and not finished. I had to scramble to grab some fruit with a spoon (serving cutlery had already been removed) before they took the tray away. All the mains and salads were gone too. Very inappropriate given that it was during Babies at Lunch, which means parents take so much more time to be able to eat their meal given that they have to take care of feeding the babies first, doing diaper changes, etc.
we were so impressed with everything about our brunch, no complaints!
Great place to celebrate a friend's birthday! Our server was very attentive and pleasant, food was yum! We'll be back!
On June 1st we saw The British Legends at The Old Mill. They have a limited menu for vegetarians and we both had the Summer Risotto and shared a salad. The entertainment was great, even though most of the crowd was quite a bit older. We had a blast from the past and danced up a storm. Our bill of $150 for two risottos, shared salad and one 1/4 litre of wine also included tax and our entertainment. I would not go for the food alone, but all in all the night was a good one because of the great entertainment and the dancing. If British Legends returns, I highly recommend going to see them. There is a minimum of $20 food charge plus your $25 cover fee, plus tax and tip.
Good food and entertainment.
Enjoyed the band and the performers they were great felt the food was very average was not aware of the added $50 cover charge the service was dismal
The food was delicious and the entertainment was very good. The waiter wasn’t as attentive as I normally expect for the price point, however overall it was an enjoyable evening.
Considering the price, not much selection. Quality was mediocre. Could have spent the same amount for a nice sit down meal with better quality.
Sunday brunch at the Old Mill brings back memories of families only getting together that day. Forget about the shopping, cleaning, bill paying. Take a day off!
Went for dinner at Old Mill after a meeting at the center. Really was disappointed as the food was very mediocre, high priced, and small selection. Desserts not worth mentioning.
Not trying to be too hard, but do you are going to charge 160 for dinner for 3, without alcohol even ordered, it’s gotta be good. Especially in Toronto.
Won’t go back I’m afraid
We had the Lunch Buffet - Delicious food - Fresh - Superb assortment - and attentive service.
Fairly priced $29.99
Would definitely recommend.
Unfortunately the food could have been fresher and presented more nicely
The dining room is showing its age and looking a little rundown. The carpets need a deep cleaning.
Servers were good they tried their best
Food was on average tasteless. More meat selections could have been offered.
Prime Rib was tough and overcooked and there were no mashed potatoes. Seafood Island had limited choices, i.e. no Crab legs, no lobster, etc. Dessert Island was not replenished in a timely manner. Scrambled eggs needed seasoning. Overall the Sunday Brunch Buffet was very ORDINARY and similar to numerous others available in the city... but charges a premium price. The dining area could use some updating....carpet looked old and felt sticky.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the OldMill Inn and the results were enchanting. We will be back in a heartbeat.
Always enjoy The Old Mill....the tables are a bit squashed but the surroundings are lovely.
The lunch buffet at the Old Mill Inn is a real must experience! It’s a hidden gem in Toronto. One of the best buffets for only 29.99 per person. For what you get it’s honestly cheap. All the food is very high quality and tastes very homemade. The desserts are always great and you get tea and or coffee which is also great. Only advice I’d give is go on a weekday because Saturday (obviously) is much more busy.
The ambiance and service was outstanding. However, the food was just okay.
Stunning place! The food was good, as well as the service! A little expensive though.
The food service was very slow. Tea was brought out 30 minutes before the food. Very long delay. Tea was cold before "high tea" platter was served. I also feel that everyone at the table should have been served at the same time. One in my party was vegetarian and what she got was terrible. She could have had the cream cheese cucumber on the mini bagel as well and the other two could also have been put on something more substantial than the bread it was put on. A little disappointed on that end. Also, I don't think the gratuity should have been added by the restaurant. We were a party of two.
Nice looking dinning hall and that's pretty much all the positive I could say. The food was merely ok, and a bit pricy for the food offered.
We went at the last time slot (7:30). By 8ish they already turn off some lights of the buffet tables, and the desserts and fruits by then were all taken and they never bother to refill. Quite disappointed given the buffet was supposed to last 2 hours
Old Mill mother's day buffet was lacking. No music, hot plates were very limited and overall presentation poor. The environment seemed rushed and unorganized, we were missing a plate setting and cutlery.
It was Mother’s Day so very busy. The staff were excellent and the food was delicious but as it was a later seating we found the food was not being replenished quickly or in some cases at all.
Far too busy. Lines were too long. Ran out of food. It wasn’t very enjoyable because the buffet area was a nightmare full if people, you could barely walk. Too bad because it’s a beautiful place.
I have done numerous Sunday brunches at the Old Mill over many years. This was by far my worst experience. Right from the beginning, I think we sat at our tables for 15-20 minutes before anyone came to ask us if we’d like water or coffee. I then went to the buffet and picked up some Prime rib vegetables and potatoes. First of all I stood at the counter in front of the beef for about 10 minutes before the carver appeared. Then after getting to my seat I found the beef to be tremendously undercooked and cold. The vegetables were also very hard and undercooked. I love the ambiance and atmosphere at the Old Mill, but I think more of an onus should be put on customer service and food preparation/quality. It would also be nice if you could change up the food selection once in a while. I think my last 4 times I have been there, the same exact food was all in the exact same location. Shake it up. Thanks, Mark
It was okay went for Mother’s Day brunch and it was super busy as to be expected I guess but getting food was chaos
Overpriced, overcrowded, could not move around the buffet tables. Our server was no where to be found.... we had to grab someone to get a coffee refill. The food was mediocre.
Although the variety is there, the buffet wasn't all that special. The price charged is definitely steep and not a good value for money. very crowded and tables seem to be pushed together to maximize revenue vs diner comfort. Won't be returning.
The setting and atmosphere were phenomenal; that's why I chose it when an out-of-town friend asked that we dine at 'someplace nice.' The only complaint she had was that the menu could have used a little bit more selection. Otherwise, absolutely fantastic food, ambiance, and dining experience.
Had a wonderful Mother's Day dinner with family. Very attentive service, the place was packed but it didn't take long for the food to be served. Exquisite Prime Rib.
I have been to the Old Mill many times for the buffet. Our reservation was at 1pm and many food trays were empty and the staff was slow to replenish. The servers were very slow to pick up empty plates from our table which we were forced to pile up. The few protein choices were okay but not terribly tasty. It was disappointing. Our reservation was the day before mother's day and, outside of the ambiance itself, the food was quite mediocre for The Old Mill.
Food and service were very good as always. But, it was too crowded and we felt like we had to fight to get any food. Too much pushing and shoving ruined an otherwise excellent experience at The Old Mill! We ended up wearing almost as much food as we ate! We wished we had gone somewhere else for our birthday celebration.
