Fabulous! Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food and outstanding personal service. All made for an outstanding evening.
We really appreciated the staff being so tolerant of the children age 3 an 5. The food was amazing, however I did miss a real turkey being carved and homemade cranberry sauce.
I could hear the orchestra playing from old times as I picked up my food and marvelled at how times had changed.
My daughter so enjoyed being able to sit down to an amazing meal with her children even after trips back to the fondue.
Thanks to all the staff for an amazing experience.
Plan to see you next year.
Celebrated Thanksgiving as a family. Staff friendly and ambiance just right. Food was delicious with a wide variety to choose from and buffet plates constantly being restocked. Thank you.
I would not go back for holiday dinner. Huge line ups. Food was okay. Nothing special. Small dessert area. Even a 3rd star hotel in Cuba would be better than this buffet. They crammed in as many people they could. It did not have a fine dining experience... I know it was buffet style, however their brunches are much more classy. Skip this restaurant for its price and go to The Keg instead. Did I mention the line ups for food were super long. Standing there with your plate .... embarrassing really.
Disappointed in the food this year. The turkey was not off the "bird", but turkey roll and this was dry. There were no knives to cut the cheese.
The Thanksgiving buffet was excellent, there was a line, however that was expected. We were seated upstairs, where it was quiet and peaceful. The service was excellent, very attentive servers. Our family truly enjoyed the food, the ambience and the area - we went for a walk to the river and watched the fishermen catch huge fish! We’ll definitely come back again!
Very long wait to be seated, despite the fact that we had a reservation. Seating guests was very disorganized. Food at the buffet was mediocre.
Service was impeccable as usual . Amazing variety of food. Spent Thanksgiving brunch with family!!
Loved the Thanksgiving buffet and everything that came with it! Awesome service, beautiful venue and great food.
Excellent as always - my only issue was with the temperature of some items under heat lamps as they were not warm or hot like they should be. Service is exceptional and environment is delightful.
Reservations on line were easy. We arrived on time and were seated promptly..... in an area with far too many tables and a large post inhibiting access..... between two large groups of noisy diners. Not good and no place to move to. Drinks overpriced, and no white wine on the Thanksgiving drinks menu other than Chardonnay. The quality and quality of the buffet was very good though. Staff very attentive when they could reach us.
We would come back, but would choose another day of the holiday weekend to attend, and would not book a table online as there is no choice of tables offered .
We were much of the noise, sorry. Food and service was excellent, thank you very much
Second sitting was a disaster. 30 minutes late to be seated, fresh food brought out to the buffet after most people had started dessert, dessert was sparse. Won’t be back.
Too busy on Thanksgiving and we couldn’t be seated at main dining room.
Thanksgiving Buffet was OK, but not excellent for $55. each, the food service area was overcrowded most of the 1 1/2 hours we were there. I overheard complaints about the slow line up for the hot buffet area. Luigi was our server and he was great. The turkey dressing was like some sort of gooey, glue, gob.
Thanksgiving too many lined up to check in and lineups for food.
Never going back.
We live at Riverhouse Condo and wish it was a better experience.
I did not appreciate finding out when seated that we were in what was obviously an overflow area, zero ambiance, lengthy hike from the buffet. I would have preferred the ability to make alternate arrangements, since eating in a "church hall" atmosphere left us feeling, as one of my guests said, as though we had been relegated to the "children's table", not the Old Mill experience I expected.
Very disappointing overall. Seating was disorganized... we had to be rerouted twice, because one of our guests was in a wheelchair, of which prior notification was given. Food was subpar at best.. not at all what I was expecting for a lovely Thanksgiving feast. I’m so disappointed. The stuffing was rancid... which means the chef certainly didn’t taste the food before it was put out. I expected much better of the old mill restaurant. Only thing that was great was the mixed cocktail
Pros: Good food, although the desserts could be better. Friendly and good service; I rated it less so, as reception told part of my party to go ahead and they would remember to direct my husband, who was parking the car. He had to involve 3 different staff to finally find us in the Mill Room. I understand it was very busy-Thanksgiving. Very beautiful decor, atmospheric historic ambiance, except for where we were located-see Cons below.
Cons: We were taken to the Mill Room. It doesn't bear any resemblance to the rest of the restaurant. No decor, no colour, no beautiful vibe. For $50 per person, I think we can expect more.
CONCLUSION: I would return, but only if I were not put into the Mill Room again.
The food selection and quality for the Thanksgiving Brunch was poor, especially considering the price @ $55 per person. Vegetarian options poorly labeled and not set aside from meat gravy, etc. Patrons with mobility issues or devices (wheelchairs or walkers) should look elsewhere, many levels, bathrooms on second floor. My server was great, she got a big tip :-), but the staff circulating the crowd to replenish food seemed unhappy, rushed and often didn't bother to say excuse me.
This was my first time trying out a pricey-ish Holiday buffet, a la local hotels, but I won't be back.
We usually love the Old Mill but in fairness we just aren’t used to it being that busy! Not sure we would come back for Thanksgiving. The food was good but not as good as we have had before. The staff seemed on edge too as there was a fight that broke out behind us between the host and a waiter which was interesting. Our waiter was nice though. And of course you can’t beat the chocolate fountain!!!
I love the atmosphere and the old but classic look of the hotel. And the coffee they serve is amazing.
We went for the Thanksgiving Brunch on Sunday . Greeted warmly at reception and seated promptly. Servers took coffee and tea orders right away. Lots of great food choices! Everything was delicious. Turkey , Roast Beef, Ham and all the regular Brunch items done just right. Desserts were amazing. We just love the Old Mill. Will come back again.
My fiance and I decided to attend the old mill for dinner to see if it could be a possible venue for our wedding reception.
The meal started off nicely with the manager taking us to the table and our waiter being very attentive.
After we placed our dinner order another two servers came over to change my chair out saying I'd be more comfortable as it is a wider seat. I said I was fine but was forced to "move for my comfort." As a plus size woman this is horribly embarrassing seeing as the chair in my opinion was perfectly fine.
My fiance was livid at the public display and asked the manager to come speak with me. I was so embarrassed that I ended up fighting back tears. When she saw me she was shocked at my reaction and tried to calm me down. She said that the chair support post was broken so we wanted to trade out the chair. I understand why she said that to make me feel better. However if that was the case I could have moved to a different chair at the same table and also I doubt your waiter would have said "it's a bigger seat, you'll be more comfortable." I realize she was trying to defuse the situation and can appreciate where she was coming from. However I did not appreciate the staff coming to stare, point and whisper at me behind my back but in my partner's peripheral view.
The manager came back with a glass of pink champagne for myself however I couldn't drink it as I was driving and had already had two beverages.
Later in the meal she came back with a box of specialty teas and her card to contact her to "come back for lunch." Again, I appreciate her trying to defuse the situation but there is absolutely no way I will ever go back there. I am not one to complain and this is my first ever review.
I appreciated the manager and our server. However the rest of the staff was awful. And the food was overpriced and the dessert was in edible.
I will never return and will let every plus size person I know not to go there due to mistreatment.
I thought for the Saturday lunch it was ample food. Some of the items could have been replenished a bit sooner but overall quite tasty and good service at the tables.
The food was unimpressive. I was disappointed in the selection and they should consider offering plastic gloves for the serving spoons etc. Some of the handles were sticky and filthy.
Definitely not worth the money!!!! After tax and tip, Almost $70 for brunch and ONE mimosa!!!! Ridiculous.
We had a lovely lunch at the Old Mill. My two grandchildren love being able to pick and choose exactly what they want to eat. Service was just attentive enough without being overbearing. Overall we love to come to the Old Mill for special occasion lunches.
Went to Old Mill for a milestone birthday celebration. We enjoyed ourselves. The food selection was ok for the price. I really enjoyed the short ribs. The lamb was incredibly dry. In terms of seating, the space was quite vacant but we were placed right were the most amount of foot traffic was occurring. Our waiter was great, very intuitive and attentive.
Firstly, we went for brunch, the food selection was very good, the tables setup was good with enough space between them, the interior nicely decorated but the lighting was adequate only for the tables close to the windows (which are just few placed in the enclosed terrace).
Secondly, the brunch doesn’t have any type of drinks included in its price and the mimosas are $14/glass so I suggest to get a bottle of prosecco instead that is around $40.
Lastly the service was good, only the server we had seemed too formal for my liking, didn’t talk at all, I had the feel that he didn’t enjoy his job much and he just performed his duties in order from his mental list.
The service was great, the meal was terrible,,salad had too much dressing (vingerette),,the chicken was small, was tender but nothing that I couldn’t cook better at home,,rice not great, in fact didn’t eat it,28,00,I know not expensive but too me it was still a waste of money
Hotel is fabulous but the restAurant isn’t ,,but the 2 aren’t connected I know,,
The entertainment Fiddlestix was excellent, I d love to see them again. I’ll definitely be coming back to The Old Mill. We really enjoyed the food and service, it was a wonderful night out.
Coming here three times for my birthday and for baby shower - never got disappointed. Very nice place, you must go to Old Mill.
Should look around the venue to look for better table locations and request for transfer as this was what we realized. Overall though the food was just tight for the price.
Went for buffet lunch to celebrate seventh wedding anniversary. Very nice people working there. Food was o.k, nothing special. Atmosphere was great. Lots of people.
It was very nice to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary at The Old Mill, the place we were married back on September 18, 1999. Our only complaint is that our waiter (Mansour) let us each order a dessert before he presented us with our complimentary dessert (with a lovely "Happy Anniversary" message written in chocolate). It felt like a sneaky way to increase the amount of our bill. Had we known we were getting a free dessert, we would not have ordered off the menu.
Both times I have gone to the Old Mill Restaurant have been outstanding. Brunch was amazing, food was on point! Dinner was awesome, no complaints. The décor makes it feel like your in another country in Europe!
I expected this Buffet to be pretty great but didn't expect it to be as amazing as it was! The selection is very good and I didn't taste a single item that wasn't excellent. Somehow even the eggs benedict tasted as if it was plated for me instead of on a Buffet, which I know is very difficult for this item in particular.
Our server seemed a little rude, especially towards the end of service, which was odd. That being said, we interacted with probably 4 other staff members during our stay and everyone else was absolutely excellent, so he may have just been having a bad day.
Entertainment is excellent, but you should increase the choice of the menu, we always found the same 4 kind of main dish for years. Hopefully someone will change on this, you should increase the portions, too.
Food and ambiance were excellent. A wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary having been married at the Old Mill forty years ago!
While the food tasted great, there were limited menu options and the price was too high. We reserved a table for two at 6 pm (as no earlier reservation times were allowed), and we were told that the patio was an option, however, when we arrived, we were told that the patio was closed - and we were the only ones in the entire dining room! Moreover, the A/C was blowing on us (but it later changed to heat).
