The interior has a crisp, clean aesthetic that is enhanced by hardwood floors and the enlarged photos of historic Surrey that adorn the walls. There are five distinct dining areas on the top floor (including a cozy library) and a banquet facility downstairs. The cuisine is French with a splash of West Coast flare. A treat for new and seasoned guests alike are the signature dishes that are prepared and flambeed tableside.
The restaurant is family owned and operated since 1975. Since 1984 the restaurant has entered into a partnership with the family farm in Ryder Lake overlooking Chilliwack from the nearby mountains. The Old Surrey is well known for its free-range lamb and veal allowing customers to enjoy fresh organic ingredients.

The food is consistently awesome and so is the outstanding service. They accommodated every one of our requests. It was a birthday celebration and they created a very happy experience. Highly recommended for a special night out.
Old Surrey restaurant is always very good. This time the meals were partly a bit less hot as they should have been, but still very good and very tasty.
First time here. Seen this place since we moved to Canada in 1996. But for some reason we as a family never went here. Then when I found out it was fine dining, I was hesitant to come here at first. Fast forward to today and here I am with my gf having a 3 course meal.
First course: Beef Tenderloin Tostada - wasn't anything too special, it kinda tasted like fancy corned beef, I'd still eat it
Second course: Classic Caesar Salad with romaine hearts, parmesan & and freshly baked croutons. - they make this table side, and when they asked if we liked cheese, they used the entire serving of cheese that they had, this was delicious
Main course: Filet Mignon Wellington - this was my frost time having a beef wellington and this did not disappoint. The meat was very juicy and the pastry was a nice addition.
Dessert: Fall Harvest Walnut Brownie with pistachio ice cream flambeed tableside with Amaretto caramel - they flambeed it table side, fire! What else can you ask for, this was surprisingly not as sweet as I thought it would be. The peach was also a nice touch
(1) bitter orange rosemary cider - I am not a cider person but this was refreshing, the gf liked this a lot
(2) Whalley Wonka martini - this one paired well with the dessert especially if you love chocolate. This was made with vodka, creme de cacao, Kahlua and frangelico, very yummy
Service was amazing, staff was very friendly, chatty and very attentive.

After almost two years of not being able to go out to dine, we wires happy to return to one of our favourite restaurants. The service, as usual, was exemplary. The food, without a doubt, was delicious. Our biggest treat is to watch them prepare our Caesar salads at the table. My steak was done to perfection. My husband's meal was equally delicious. We are definitely going back in December for my hubby's birthday.
Excellent food with an old school vibe. Everything tasted great and appreciated the table-side menu items. A fun retro dining experience. Everyone’s meals were fabulous. The scallop appetizer was divine. First time going but will be back. A lovely dining experience in a surprising location

Steak, seafood and pork were all good. I asked how many scallops were in the appy..I was told 5 and there were 3. Veggies bland. $10 for local bottled beer is just crazy! Given that, I would still give them another try

Went here after living in Surrey for years and always wanting to go. The atmosphere was romantic, service was nice and food was good. Only negative I could say was it was a little too quiet.
Loved the individual rooms holding only a few tables each. Lovely ambience with vintage elegant decor and easy
listening music. Service was polite, efficient, and friendly. Wine list was decent but the draft beer list needs some good craft breweries in it. We had the scallop appetizer which was delicious and my husband enjoyed his pepper steak though wasn’t a big fan of the veggies. I had the Halibut Special with a dill cream sauce. The fish was perfectly cooked but unfortunately I found the sauce bland. I can see why they still draw diners, and they are probably one of the very few restaurants to offer “vintage” favourites such as Chateaubriand and Cherries Jubilee. However, they could do with some modernizing in their dishes as to presentation and taste.
Absolute disaster of a meal!!Both my son-in-law and I gave our prime rib dinners back as they we so salty they were not fit for consumption by any creature on this planet!
The scallop appetizer was bathed in an unsavoury cheese cream sauce flavoured with Sambuca that masked any flavour of the shellfish.
My daughter and wife had the Fall Special featuring Beef Wellington that was average at best.All meals were presented with Brussel Sprouts that were not cooked and uncutable by any means.Potato croquettes,beets and cauliflower were fine though only two of our party ate them.
After mentioning the terrible state of the food,we were informed that one of the waiters was substituting for the main cook who asked for the night off from his duties.I find it incredible that this occurred on a Saturday night with a full house and no trained replacement was able to serve a dinner of quality that customers come to expect of this expensive restaurant.
We have patronized this restaurant for over 30 years and feel betrayed and insulted by paying over $342 for food of such inferior,disgusting quality!
If this is the best that can be done,you won’t be in business long after cheating your longtime patrons!!
The chef's special, Halibut was excellent! Cooked to perfection.
The Fish plate was a 10..The baked Oysters were the BEST I've ever eaten.
Service was a 10 also. We were very lucky to have the Owner of the restaurant come to our table, as I've been going there since the opening in 1974. All and all a great place to be when you want exquisite dinner at it's finest. I'll keep going back....

Had never had the opportunity to go to this special restaurant. Boy were we missing out! Everything was fabulous and we have already told so many people to give it a try. Can’t wait to plan another visit when we have a special occasion. So nice to be treated In luxurious surroundings and get dressed up for a memorable meal

Well we greeted and seated quickly 7:45pm reservations, then the waiting began 40 min for Appie scallops were tasty but very rich sauce and a little to sweet for me , I had the prawns over cooked and under seasoned, then waited a very long time, even our waiter made a comment ( problem in the kitchen ) as other tables around us who were seated 1/2 hr after us got theirs main course before us . I had the halibut tasty and my husband had the lamb very good and well portioned. Didn’t have dessert as it was almost 10 pm

Regular customer prior Covid. First visit since. Disappointed with the limited choice offered for $75 Fall Special. Ordered the Mussels & Beef & would not recommend either. Dessert - Brownie seemed dried out & hard to cut with spoon. My favourite restaurant but this meal did not meet my expectations. Service & ambiance was good.
This is the only place I know of in BC where you can still get a Caesar salad prepared at your table -- and it was excellent! The service was first class professional and the servers worked like Swiss precision together. Amazing actually!

We have been enjoying The Old Surrey Inn for many years. It has been consistently very enjoyable. The Fall menu was fantastic and our server was was funny and gracious. We will be back!

This restaurant is a Surrey fixture. It is the place to go for a celebratory dinner or a wedding proposal. It is NOT old school. Dining selection is first rate. Everything is cooked to perfection. The chef creates an every changing prix fixe menu that is remarkable in its creativity. Solid and well priced wine list. As good as the food is, the wait staff is even better. There are very professional and seem to anticipate your needs. Cannot recommend highly enough.
