Old Surrey Restaurant
The interior has a crisp, clean aesthetic that is enhanced by hardwood floors and the enlarged photos of historic Surrey that adorn the walls. There are five distinct dining areas on the top floor (including a cozy library) and a banquet facility downstairs. The cuisine is French with a splash of West Coast flare. A treat for new and seasoned guests alike are the signature dishes that are prepared and flambeed tableside.
The restaurant is family owned and operated since 1975. Since 1984 the restaurant has entered into a partnership with the family farm in Ryder Lake overlooking Chilliwack from the nearby mountains. The Old Surrey is well known for its free-range lamb and veal allowing customers to enjoy fresh organic ingredients.
Classic Caesar with romaine hearts, parmesan & freshly baked croutons. Once you have experienced freshly made dressing you can never go back

Fantastic as usual. So glad to be able to go back again.
excellent meal as usual, always love the seafood platter. great service and friendly staff.
Another enjoyable night at our favourite restaurant. The food, drinks and service were top notch as usual.
Always great for a special occasion like our 50th anniversary.
The service is bar none here. The food is great and it is a very nostalgic restaurant for us as we’ve been coming here since they opened. Love it.
We had a lovely relaxed dinner at the Old Surrey. The food was perfect and we enjoyed the presentation---having the salad, main course and dessert prepared table side. The courses were spaced out allowing time to savour each in turn. As always, the service was impeccable with our every need anticipated.
This was our first time eating out since restaurants started to reopen. We were a bit apprehensive, but everything was done right to make us feel welcomed and safe. This is our go to place for special occasions. The food did not disappoint. The service is attentive without being overbearing or snooty. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening there.
Felt absolutely safe throughout the meal. This restaurant is great value for the upper end restaurant that it is.
The perfect place to go for a special occasion! Excellent dinner!
We had a lovely dinner and evening. Everything was delicious.
Amazing food and excellent service. Highly recommend the Specials, the seafood platter or the lamb chops.
A great way to come out of Covid-19. One of the Best Restaurants in Metro Vancouver.
The food was hot and plentiful although my daughter did not enjoy her soup but can’t remember what it was. In today’s climate the seating arrangement was excellent one thing which did surprise me what is that we were served by more than one waiter,Our past experience since the virus has affected us all has been that one waiter has done everything for us which I personally thought was a good idea , overall we had a very good evening and would recommend the restaurant to anyone.
Good as always. Only reason for the 4 stars was one appetizer never was delivered.
We enjoyed our visit. Have been visiting the Old Surrey Restaurant on special occasions for years. Thanks to the Staff!
Fantastic dining experience. Very good server. Food was exceptional. A real good fun dining experience.
Had the Chateau Special. Did not disappoint! Masterfully presented and oh so tasty prawns, the Caesar salad ( with a sweet little cooking lesson for our party ) done right at the table! The flambéed tableside tenderloin was perfect and the cherries jubilee were just lovely. Four courses of deliciousness! Finished with the ever delightful Blueberry Tea.
I’ve been dining at this restaurant since it opened in 1975 and have always been impressed with everything about this hidden gem. You can’t beat the Green Timbers Martini, the Caesar salad, any of the entrees, the cherries jubilee or the special coffees. The table side service and ambiance are excellent. As you can probably guess by now, this is my favourite restaurant.
I have no comments... it was to be able to go back to old surrey!
Very pleasant evening, appetizer was delicious, caesar salad had to much vinegar and to many coutons. Chateau Briand was very good along with the vegetables. Cherries Jubilee was good but the cherries could have been cooked a bit longer so that they would have been a bit warmer.
All in all a lovely evening.
We have been dining here for years, but not so much lately. We were so happy that you reopened just in time to celebrate my birthday. Everything was delicious!
As usual everything met our expectations. We had the chateaubriand special and with the tableside service of the tossed Caesar salad, chateaubriand and cherries jubilee it was a very nice way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We will celebrate other special occasions at the Old Surrey in the future.
Excellent dining experience, one of best restaurants I've been too. Food and Service were excellent!
Always love visiting this restaurant. They have done a good job adjusting to the new norm and we felt very comfortable eating there.
A charming old house. Great staff, they`re attentive and knowlegable about the food and wine. The food is always very, very good. I believe their chef is the best in the lower mainland when cooking fish.
We were so happy to return to this iconic Surrey restaurant...the history and commitment to customers and service...BAR NONE.
Especially grateful to be back inside a restaurant and only too delighted to support our friends at the Old Surrey...we've been there since DAY ONE...almost 45 years ago...
Great to have them open again. Quality of food & service have never diminished. They are going over/above to adhere to new safety measures.
Love the fresh Caesar salad made table side; love the Chateaubriand made table side; love the Cherries Jubilee made table side -- heck I admit their table side service is above anything else around the neighborhood! Ask for Michael, best waiter around
As always, we had a wonderful time at Old Surrey. We recommend it highly .
Great classic restaurant. Table side dishes prepare with classic methods
Fine dining ,Caesar salad to die for. Filet mignon melts in your mouth.
A “Must go” place in Surrey. Seasonal special menus are bang for the buck. Service is always exceptional. Highly recommended.
one of our diners was 1 hour late but the restaurant especially the server was so good about it. after the late diner finished eatingt he server made the ice cream, what a lovely dessert and great experience watching him make the dessert. I will definitely go back. janet from white rock
Amazing! Great place to get together with family & friends for any occasion! An absolutely unique atmosphere, the BEST Caesar salad you will ever taste!!! Not to mention extremely attentive staff members and phenomenal food overall! Our whole family had their four course special, which was incredible! It was our first time coming here and it will not be our last!!! Thank you for making our experience so special!!
I love this place. Have been going here for about 30 years. It's always warm, pleasant, reliable, and offers a varied menu. I will return.
The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Superb quality! We had the filet mignon and lobster special plus a bottle of Burrowing Owl merlot. It was outstanding!
We had a lovely time. Great atmosphere, good value for money and service was outstanding.
