   This was the second time in the last three weeks we eaten there, the other being a group of 14 for my wifes 80th birthday. In that case and this one everything about our evening was first class-the food the service and the abmbiance. Its so great to have such a quality restaurant in the Newton/North Deta area and we will gladly advertise it to friends as a special place to have an anjoyable meal,

   Outstanding dinner. The food, ambience, service were fantastic. Once you step into the restaurant it feels like you’re in a different world. It is definitely a fancy night out but actually great value for the quality.

    I ordered Jumbo Prawns appetizer and they were not Jumbo by any means which was most disappointing.... The crab dip was very very good ...that was the other appetizer that my friend and I ordered. We both agreed that we would order the crab dip again in a heartbeat. As for the Jumbo Prawns ..never again. Everything else was super...as usual. I enjoy this restaurant very much and will continue to support it......

    Another amazing night out to celebrate my parents 58th wedding anniversary. The food, service and ambiance was all 5 stars. We all had the Old Surrey Restaurant anniversary 4 course special. Everything was perfect from the crab cakes to the table side Caesar salad and the filet mignon and special ice cream for dessert. The liquid nitrogen ice cream was next level off the charts. Finished off the night with a couple B52 coffees done table side. This is our #1 place for special occasions and we will be back soon

    First visit did not disappoint! The smaller rooms are more intimate so glad we were not in the largest room. Something I will request on our next visit just to be sure.

    We were celebrating my wife’s 65th birthday and they sat us at a nice romantic corner table. It was freezing outside so it was nice to come into a nice, warm and comfortable table and room. The waiters were outstanding, attentive but not intrusive. We had their anniversary special dinner which was so tasty. Started with excellent crab cakes, next Caesar Salad made table side, then very tasty Filet and a lobster tail and finished with Cherries Jubilee and a birthday Special coffee both made table side with lots of flames to go around. Thank you again, it was a night to remember!

    Love this restaurant. Great service and the food is delicious. We love the side table service so much . Special coffees , salad and the nitro ice cream were all excellent Thank you for a wonderful dining experience

    We were there for brunch. The service and gentile ambiance was elegant but noise level was a bit high. The room has no noise absorption elements. The breakfast was good but crab cakes a bit small and hard relative to others that I've had. The coffee was not hot and I didn't love the taste. At $45 a plate it was a bit pricey for what I received. I prefer going there for dinners and will continue to do so.

    So nice to find an old style restaurant. We are sick and tired of the ‘nouvelle cuisine’ with its drops of this and dabs of that on the plate. Tiny amounts that do not belong on the menu but inevitable are there. Why? We have no idea. Give us a piece of well cooked steak, lobster tail, hearty appies and drinks that taste of the familiar. You get all this and more at the Old Surrey. It was a Wednesday night we went there and the place was jumping. The owners are charming, the wait staff fast, efficient and discreet. A 10 out of 10 experience. We will be going back and soon.

    Was a little disappointed for my first time at the restaurant, especially for all the positive reviews and it being a special Valentine's Day dinner. We were seated by a wall on the other side of the host/ check in. As guests arrived, we felt like were in the middle of each conversation to receive them, to the point we had to speak up louder to hear each other - very disruptive. Not very professional listening to the staff grumble about guests and each other and the restaurant challenges while trying to enjoy a meal - I don't think they understood we could hear what and who they were talking about at the host station. Suggest for these seats to put up a glass insert to keep noise (and gossip) away from guests. My wife really enjoyed her meal, with her main being Chicken Oscar. My lamb was "OK". Lamb itself was very good, but the sauce it was plated on was already skimmed over from either sitting too long, and it tasted a little burnt - took away from the lamb but could not put aside given the lamb was swimming in the sauce. Suggest lamb and sauce be separated. Service good, had to ask for side plates for bread service. Started to make salad before my wife was finished her first course which made things feel rushed. I think they were overwhelmed and falling behind for the Valentines rush despite being first sitting.

    This was my wife and I's first time dining at the Old Surrey Inn. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was great. The only dissapointing thing was that we watched other tables get demonstrations of the guy making the Ceasar salads and I ordered a ceasar salad but got no demonstration. Other than that we had a fantastic time.

    The Old Surrey is our most favorite restaurant in Canada. We have been regular customers since 1994 and we have never been disappointed. The entire staff let by Mike and Nick are always attentive and the food well above average. Whether prepared at your table or right from the kitchen, Phil's menu is as good as it gets.     My wife and I have been going to the Old Surrey for about 30 years for special occasions and we have always had a great experience. Food is always top notch and we order menu items that are prepared table side as much as possible so we get a dinner and a show! :)

    This was our first visit to Old Surrey House. We had tickets to Beyond Van Gogh (as an early Valentine’s) and we were hoping to find a nice restaurant in Surrey. My husband and I went to France last Spring and the whole night was a perfect tribute to that memory. The food, ambiance, service was so much better than I could have hoped for. Very pleasantly surprised!

    Old Surrey cannot make bad food. Their cooks/chef know how to make classic food taste better. Other French restaurants I have tried make salty food. I don’t know what is the magic, please keep it up. If it is possible, please lower the price so I can come more often than once a year.
