ONE Restaurant
The restaurant’s stunning décor was fashioned by award winning design group Yabu Pushelberg. Low light and textured walls create a sumptuous ambiance, perfect for entertaining. The tree-lined candle lit patio is the perfect place to sit back and savour ONE's culinary creations and unique signature cocktails, all the while taking in Yorkville's bustling and exciting street life.
If it is private dining you are interested in, ONE Restaurant has two exquisite spaces to offer. The smaller and more intimate Neil Young Room, located off the main dining room and the grand and impressive Yorkville Room, situated just beyond the entrance to the bar lounge.
Whether the occasion be personal or business, the chic bar, al fresco oasisor lavish dining room will make for an immersive dining experience day or night.
I've eaten here before, but their menu had recently changed for the season and the food was not as impressive as I remember it. It was still very good, just didn't dazzle me as I had expected. Service was excellent. Ambiance was quiet and relaxed. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.
Love the new menu
too loud
very difficult to have a conversation
even our waitress was having a hard time
food was good
i few things we asked for and had to ask again i.e. olive oil, one other thing i can't recall
Two of us had the Branzino but only one of us had olives
Yes, I would recommend - with reservations. Despite it's pedigree, excellent service and overall ambience, ONE fails to impress where it counts most- on the table. The wine selection is okay - but pricey! Still, a very interesting place to visit...
Great 👍 Quaint and clean
Nice place
Good service
Steak dinner was good
Love the lobster spoons
Classy restaurant with gourmet food great for that special occasion
Always well maintained
A handsome restaurant where the experience can be *and was) ruined by shouting guests at the next table. Korean tacos were excellent, a Caesar salad less so. Coconut cream pie was so-so, and certainly not up to Scaramouche standards. Food was good overall but very expensive.
I always enjoy going to One, because the menu and food is excellent. Tables have generous spacing, so its conducive to having a conversation with your guests, without having to shout.
The decor is sophisticated, while the dress code is relaxed, casual/hip.
On this occasion, it was a holiday and unfortunately they were short staffed, so service was very slow.
This was taken into account when we received our bill, as they had provided a concession on it.
This restaurant is fine but slightly overpriced for what it is. I understand there are high rents in yorkville and my husband is in the business so I know there are a lot of costs associated with running any food business that most people don’t think about. That said it’s a competitive industry and for $500 I could have a better dinner somewhere else. The service was really good. Decor was lovely. Noise was not terrible. I could hear conversations of other diners but over all it was not too noisy. I would come back for appetizers and drinks but not mains. The lobster spoons and tuna sashimi were both excellent. I also appreciated that they serve sloane tea, especially the rooibos. Could have been four stars if there was a “wow” factor which I would expect for the price. It just wasn’t there.
We had been to One before for brunch and both food and service was excellent. We decided to try again for dinner and unfortunately our waiter was very poor. It seemed like he didn't really want to be there. He was absent minded and didn't seem to know much about the menu. Did not check how our food was until the end
Valentines Day
Great Food, great service, great ambience. Shared the Tomahawk steak with my girlfriend for valentine's day, and it was delicious!
Excellent service, great atmosphere, great food... the Korean chicken tacos were just AMAZING! Highly recommend! I had the butternut squash ravioli and although it was tasty, the sweetness of the butternut squash became a bit overwhelming towards the end. Maple brown butter tart was beyond amazing! Coconut Cream pie as delicious as well. I will be visiting again!
Ok so first ordered two ciroc an sodas they were obviously made wrong. The server brought a replacement which was still bad, she brought a straw to the table and tried both drinks, saying “oh it is sweet! but I think it’s maybe just strong”. I ordered a bottle of wine instead which was good but she decided to leave the previous drinks on the table. Food was decent wagyu was definitely not authentic, and the apple pie was possibly the worst desert I have ever had! Server decided to charge me for the cocktails we didn’t drink. I wouldn’t go back to this restaurant if they paid me.
Great ambience, Great food, Great service. Unfortunate, but our table was forgotten and we went 40min w/o food. Management apologized and comp’d drinks. 4/5 experience.
Service: Greeted in a welcoming manner and I checked in my Moose Knuckle parka (the one with the pompoms). Server was good - she checked on us and gave us enough time/space; had friendly professional manner. Retrieving my coat was a nightmare! My parka came back with one of the pompoms completely on the other side like a weight scale; as if someone had given it a good hard yank on one of them, to the point the other pompom disappeared with the fur hood trim. No apology and no explanation provided. I told them I did not leave my coat in that condition and eventually they fixed it. Pretty unacceptable - I have never been to any restaurants/venues where the coat check messed up my coat when I went to retrieve it. Maybe a mixup - sure, but not this. It looked like they yanked my coat off by grabbing 1 of the pompoms. Please train your employees to bring it up to a standard of your restaurant's calibre.
Food: Winterlicious dinner: Presentation: 4/5 Portions: 1/5 - wagyu was not waygu, fish was dry, deconstructed pie took 20 mins? we grabbed a sandwich afterwards.
Ambience: Nice setting in main dining room; wasn't too noisy but we were early for dinner. We did notice our "table" was "improvised" - tablecloth, metal feet, square shape vs. other wooden dining tables with no tablecloth. Also, the tables and chairs are very close to each other; saw the crew adjusted them a few times.
Overall: Overhyped and disappointed - we will not be returning nor will our friends.
Valentines
The food was average and the service was weak.
It used to be much better before, last spring-summer.
I'm not sure I'll go there again!
It was Winterlicious. But that should not mean we get sub-service and sub-quality in food. The Char I ordered was extremely dry. The service was slow and a few occasions we have to raise our hand to get service.
Very bad very very bad i didnt know what was winter licious in when we order we realize it’s only two pieces of very small cut steak on the dish size of chicken finger
The appetizers was just a couple of leafs and they charged $53 to just sample!!! I wish the waitress would of explain to us better what was winter licious and how small is the dish is!!!!
Food was excellent, servings right sized (not too much volume), service was timely and attentive. Forgot to bring a glass of wine and put it on the house (Wow).
Portions were too small for amount paid for winterluscious
Birthday lunch for my boss. We all had a spectacular time and were very impressed.
Another great Winterlicious experience - interesting menu, delicious meal, wonderful service. Great value for the price - highly recommend!
Very good food and service, except the price level would have you expect exceptional, which it doesn't quite live up to.
Our server was very inattentive to our table. His service was extremely slow. The food was tasty but not over the top.
Came in with high expectations after reading other reviews, but ended up disappointed and underwhelmed. Portions are small, food quality and creativity are below average.
The two people who welcomed us at the front for winterlicious were excellent. Our waiter new very little about the menu when asked. Food was tasty, however the portions were extremely small relative to other winterlicious venues. We understand that it is not full portion meal. However, the meat entree had too cubes of meat. Both my husband and I ordered the apple pie. I believe the chef forgot to add apples to my plate.
I definitely miss everything about North 44.
Left disappointed and hungry.
Excellent atmosphere. Food was great
Service was good. Food was not at an acceptable level, the portions were extremely small. I ordered the fish to be cooked medium it was very well done and as a result dry.
We went in the hotel entrance for our Winterlicious lunch, and there too, everyone greeted us & made us feel welcome. Getting us seated was easy & professional. The two men nearby quieted down once their food was served, although the table for four close by had one very screechy woman-- wow! Of course, all tables were occupied for Winterlicious. What a pleasant restaurant! The tables were spread out-- it's a big room, the server was very nice-- Victoria was her name, and the food was absolutely delicious. We both had the fish, the salad appetizer, and two different desserts, which were both yummy. Happy memories! Who could ask for anything more? And of course, we will come back! Thank you again!
I realize we took the Winterlicious menu, but in the past it was a great experience. This visit wa disappointing, and I won’t be visiting again.
Service was lovely and cheerful.
Not for a Winterlicious dinner. Portions were extraordinarily small. Well except dor dessert.
'Wagu' beef and duck were chewy. Wine paring was excellent.
The young woman who greeted and sat us was lovely. Our main server was another wonderful young woman. We appreciated the noise baffling panels in the dining room. Such an effective way to deaden the sound in the space. We also appreciated the generous table size. The space was clean and sparkly and very pretty! These were the highlights! The food was fine, not spectacular, and the portions were very small! Definitely not worth the money. The staff who brought our plates to the table just threw the plates down. Three of us were served our main course but we were left waiting for one of our dishes and had to ask for it to appear! One server even reached over me to place another plate. Proper service needs to be reviewed. When plates were cleared two of the staff stood at our table, juggling and trading plates and cutlery. Again, service needs to be reviewed! We happily pay well for excellent food and stellar service but find it hard to do so for less than mediocre fair and less than expected service. This was our first visit to ONE and it will be our last.
This was our first time at ONE and decided to try it for the Winterlicious event menu. My dinner of duck was good but others in our group did not like the artic char; it had a smell. Proportions were too small and we all left hungry. The value simply wasn't there so it is unlikely we will ever return to this restaurant.
Decent food, excellent service. Feels like Gordon Gekko should be at the next table.
The food was amazing and the service perfect - our server was fun and very down to earth - we enjoyed the entire experience. Presentation was also spectacular. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that we had to go home and eat something because the servings were so small (possibly because it was Winterlicious) - I'm a very small eater and even I was hungry.
The Winterlicious here is so great. We came here at noon, and 3-courses just for 33 per person. It's very beautiful here, waiters are very nice!! Really recommend this restaurant.
Service top notch, food impeccable, the only drawback, pricey dishes for small portions
