I took my manager and 2 clients for a nice lunch last week. This place was a joke. When we walked in they just ignored us for 3 minutes while we just stood at the entrance. There where only a few people there. Our waitress was friendly. The food took a real long time for lunch and they new we were corp. and not tourists etc. When the food finally came there were only 3 plates out of four. My colleague just waited then finally the waitress said there was a problem with the order. My colleagues food finally came and she hardly ate only to tell me after the meat was raw and it was all bad. During the meal we kept having to waive over a service person for more water etc. I was not impressed with my Scallops dish. Only 4 scallops. Really? Last the check was $189 and the tax was about $16. They do not have a paper signing system and brought me over a tablet. It had a $205 total with a choice of 20% or higher. I could not change the total. They had me tip on the total plus tax which is wrong! I did not want to make a scene in front of our clients. I complained downstairs and the doorman said they are leaving in a month and Tao is coming. Not sure if this is public news? Could not be more happier. Screw you Opia!

I stayed at the Renaissance 57 hotel & Opia is the restaurant. This was my second meal during my stay - it was an enjoyable light dinner with a wonderful waiter.

Loved the Renaissance 57 Hotel which is where Opia is located. Food was great & surprised with a wonderful jazz band. The waitress was extremely disappointing - sat me next to where the band was setting up which was very disrupting to my dinner & to the band. In addition she embarresed me by saying my room number was declined & had to use a credit card. The hotel confirmed the next day this was not true. Overall a good experience minus the wait staff.

Great food, great service, friendly staff all with nice atmosphere. Had dinner with 2 girlfriends on a Saturday night and it was perfect for a relaxing dinner and catching up. Really enjoyed the jazz that started after 8 pm. Would definitely go back!

La Cocina no es francesa, más bien es un snack bar de mala calidad. Como francés tienen: Camembert, pâté y una copa de Borgoña. Reservamos el día de Navidad a las 21:30 y a las 21:40 una señorita muy maleducada nos dijo que pidiéramos porque cerraban La Cocina. Mala atención y muy mal servicio, lastima equivocarnos de lugar pero pensábamos que estaría bien cenar en el Hotel.

Opia offers a sophisticated environment without being snobbish. Great ambiance and music. The food is delicious, I recommend the Tuna Tartare. The service is on point. Great NYC spot.

Opia is always a pleasant surprise. Can be quiet and intimate or can be a buzz. On our most recent visit the layout was anew with comfortable banquets with views towards the windows (and if applicable a large screen tv) giving the dining room a very open feeling. The varieties of appetizers are fine, but we also like to start with one of their delicious pizzas with a first round of cocktails before moving on to appetizers and then main courses. The salads and sandwiches are very good as are the variety of entrees. On our most recent visit the staff was friendly and quite engaging. As this was a weekend night, live music began playing over the course of our dine which added to the pleasantry of the evening and carried us through our delicious dessert.

We really trust OPEN TABLE with their recomendations. Sadly Opia is not up to your standards. The food was bad, the place looks shabby, they have ONE distracted waiter whom we had to ask twice for our sticky table to be cleaned. AWFULL!!!

I had an enjoyable but unexceptional meal. I had escargot to start - served unconventionally in a garlic cream sauce with twice the number of snails out of their shell. It was in enjoyable if rich start to the meal. The hanger steak was nicely cooked but slightly too salted for my liking but still enjoyable. The staff were attentive and friendly.

Maitre'D Sam was quite attentive. He recommended the Tuna Tartar to start followed by the Sole Almondine. Both were delicious and well prepared. Dinner was accompanied by a 4 piece Jazz group in an attractive room. This was my fourth Saturday at Opia. The restaurant always has a musical group which, along with the kitchen and the setting, makes for an enjoyable evening! I'll be back for a fifth time.

My girlfriend and I were visiting New York for the weekend and wanted to have a romantic dinner. Opia was a great choice. The food was delicious and there were a lot of selections. The location is really central and there are balcony seats where you can watch the bustling streets from. The ambiance was very romantic and there was live jazz music. Our waitress was very friendly and on time.

No settings, no orange juice, no mimosas, no napkins, food served differently than what was requested. Giving the the benefit of the doubt - there was a soccer game on all the screens that attracted a ton of people who wanted to see the game. These customers did not require much so the staff may have been more lax that day than usual. Nonetheless. It should not have happened that things would be in such disarray from a service perspective. The crowd, no fault of the restaurant, was extremely loud during various parts of the match when an exciting play occurred. I had no idea there was that type of crowd there - I would not have taking my friends who came from out of town. It was a bit embarrassing that I recommended the restaurant and it was a complete and utter failure. But the food was so good that I will try again another time. The manager was very apologetic and tended to us personally upon my complaint.

I discovered Opia a few months ago, and it is a great "go to" for breakfast and/or lunch. I have been there with business colleagues, and with personal friends, and the service is always quite good, the decor is eclectic, and the food options are varied! Always a good meal, and tables are far enough apart to allow for easy conversation.

I've always walked by Opia and admired the dining right off the balcony. I decided to give it a try and I was pleasantly pleased with the jazzy and warm decor, great service and seating, exquisite food and drink pairings. The music selections really tied in the mood. The manager of the restaurant was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Opia is my new favorite spot for a more jazzy, stylish but relaxed vibe

Sam the Turk who is the manager at Opia is incredibly gracious and charismatic. For him alone I would return. He made us feel at home, pampered and special. The food was delicious, the waitstaff just right. The music, surroundings and ambience made one feel comfortable, cozy, romantic and in on a secret that only the special ones know about. I highly highly recommend and have already booked 2 future reservations.

Well prepared, well seasoned dishes in pretty room. We tried the tuna tartare which was excellent, the octopus salad, and the salmon- declared wonderful. The flan dessert was great as well. Service was great - polite, friendly and attentive.

This was probably my fifth visit to Opia. I can only assume it is currently under new management. I loved the food at Opia, no more. The menu has changed and not for the better. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad meal, it just wasn't a great meal like it used to be. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, like a waitress or waiter never showed up for work. Unfortunately I do not think I will be going back.
