Has always been one of Downtown Toronto’s best kept only luncheon secrets. Everything on their menu whether a la carte or prixfix is excellent, good, high quality and accessible food, and the limited wine list is excellent. All hits, no misses, Service is polite, friendly and efficient. At holidays, the one big, high-ceiling room can be crowded and noisy, otherwise good, quiet conversation is possible. Clientele are generally but not necessarily lawyers and firm staff. Nonetheless it’s a comfortable, civilized, attractive, old Ontario type venue. Avg $50 each.
I love this restaurante. Fresh and well prepared food, great service, perfect ambiance where you can actually have a decent conversation. Thank you.
We are a group of seven former co-workers who get together regularly for lunch and to catch up with one another.
We began to have our Christmas Lunch at Osgoode Hall restaurant quite a few years ago. The decor - wood panelling, stained-glass windows, high ceilings evokes a Christmas feel.
The menu is varied but most of our members enjoy the turkey prix fixe - appetizer, main and dessert which at about $25 is quite reasonable. Table staff are very efficient and discreet.
All in all, just the right place for the occasion!
Every year we attend as a group for the festive pre fixe menu. This year, all 8 of us arrived with bells on at 12.30 to be told that they were already out of the turkey dinner. You were out of your most popular dish 1/2 an hour after you opened? Wow. In addition, they were also already out of the other pre fixe menu special. Wow again. One would think that Osgoode has been doing these meals long enough that they really should have a handle on how to be prepared for their customers.
Great ambiance, great service, great food, favourite place to meet friends
We have a Christmas tradition of lunch at Osgoode Hall. It is always a treat. The setting is beautiful. The food is delicious. The price is extremely reasonable for the quality. The value can be seen in the difficulty of securing reservations. I would suggest that they should consider a dinner seating during the Christmas season. We will be back!
great food and an interesting venue. Well situated and accessible by TTC.
The festive special was fantastic as was the salmon appetizer and toffee dessert.
I don’t often write reviews but I would regret not having written this one because it deserves it. I brought my goddaughters with me for lunch on december 7th and I believe our waiter was Andrew (?). I hope I have his name correctly because he deserves all the accolades for making our lunch a fantastic Christmas lunch with a 16 and 13 yr old. He was so attentive and kind and the service was excellent. All of this staff were so gracious and the food was very good. Thank you
The staff were particularly wonderful as my guest was late arriving. They made excellent suggestions and even brought me a newspaper! Thank you Stuart!
Add a couple more menu options. Menu too limited xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccxxxxxxxxxxddddddddddddxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I love this restaurant. Top service, healthy, fresh food of great quality, and lovely ambiance where you can have a conversation. |A|ll this at very reasonable prices.
Beautiful ambiance, accessible location, great service. I will return for sure. Peaceful and enjoyable lunch time. Thank you.
Always excellent but get a reservation before 12:30 because sometimes they run out of the prix fixe menu which everyone wants. It is such excellent value and always delicious
Private club atmosphere. Service can be a bit slow at peak times. Excellent food. Three course lunch menu is excellent value.
The idea of passing through a security screening to get to lunch may sound off-putting to some, but it was actually quick and painless. The venue, inside historic Osgoode Hall, provided an unique experience for my American friends. So we started with an historic setting and also enjoyed the wonderful ambiance-quiet and therefore easy for conversation. The menu, while not extensive, is sufficiently varied. None of us could resist the three course prix fixe daily special. The rainbow trout was perfectly prepared and tastefully presented. The pear tart the perfect culmination. Note made to self to always come at noon as the daily special is reportedly (and understandably) frequently sold out by 1PM. The service was excellent: prompt and efficient. Incredibly good value. Entrance through the doors on east side quickest and most direct; entrance through the main south doors more impressive and well signed.
A birthday lunch for six with friends
Very comfortable table and seating arrangement
Food and service was excellent
This is an excellent restaurant! It never fails to please. The only down side I can think of is that the 3 course menu is often sold out for a 1:00 p.m. reservation.
Good, but not as good as last time. Mainly the food. Maybe I'm just not as much a fish fan but I don't think that was it. My first visit I found the food spectacularly good; this time just good.
Delicious food - very good value. Service was excellent - allow extra time to go through security (no penknives!)
We always enjoy dining at Osgoode Hall. There is good variety on the menu which is updated every month. I am a fairly plain eater and my fallback menu item is the Chicken Club sandwich on multigrain bread. Always good and the Krinckle cut chips are delicious!
It is well decorated like a law chamber. Food is great, wish they have more variets of food.
Michael was very accommodating of my wedding luncheon a week ago. We were a party of 14 with a couple kids, & our waiter was fabulous! Thank you to the chef for the delicious food! Will definitely be coming back. Everyone loved Osgoode Hall Restaurant! Thank you to everyone involved for making our special day even more memorable!!
Always amazing food 🥘 and amazing servers , classy elegant location with the best desserts 🍨
Went to lunch on Oct 30th & was very disappointed with service. Food was good but the service very poor. Slow & our server was very difficult to understand. Due to this i would be reluctant to make a return visit.
The steak was good but it was far to salty. Also, one of the people in our party ordered a Blue steak and got a medium rare steak instead.
My first time was late September for a farewell luncheon for a co-worker. We were a group of 8 who all throughly enjoyed their meals and total experience. I decided to bring a dear friend for her birthday yesterday and she was blown away by the beauty of the room, the quality of the food and how reasonable the price is. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone to experience. Can hardly wait to see what is on the menu for November as I will definitely be back. Thank you
Excellent, as always. Professional service, beautiful (quiet!) room, great food.
The service was superb, the food excellent, and the surroundings soothing.
A hidden gem. Love the ambience and the setting. Food is consistently great
We loved the ambiance of this unique place and amazing food! All dishes are tasty and have exceptional presentation. We tried both a-la-cart and pre-fix menus and loved all of the choices!
Delicious food cooked with seasonal ingredients and very friendly and attentive wait staff. Unique location, there’s nothing quite like it.
Tasty food, very friendly service, and a beatiful dining room. Good for business lunches or meeting up with your significant other. The central location ia also great.
Great attentive staff, excellent food, value for money. It felt like a quiet oasis.
My friend and I enjoyed everything about our lunch. The setting with its elegance and historical import. The spaciousness of the room. The food was delicious and served with graciousness. The price was very reasonable. It would be hard to ask for more. Thank you!
We enjoyed our lunch at Osgoode Hall. The service is excellent and the food was delicious.
Just the tour of the stately Osgoode Hall is worth the visit. Nowhere else in TO can offer such an ambience. Food was excellent, both in presentation and in taste. The daily prix fixe menu is arguably the best value you'll find in town. Very professional staff. This was my eighth time eating here and still loving every minute of it. If you haven't tried it yet, you should.
Delicious food, services are outstanding, hidden gem in Toronto!
My favourite place to take clients and contacts because the food is interesting, the location is very special, and the building is impressive as one of the oldest in downtown Toronto (and the pricing is very reasonable. I've taken mostly Canadians and Europeans there, and they really like it.
