Very prefect shop and food ! Very Delish
Food and service was terrific but I think maybe because the tables are so close the room was very loud.
Savio Volpe is a great restaurant. We reserved a month ahead to be sure we could get a table. Sunday night and it was full!
The service was perfect, the timing of the food was excellent, the Negronis very tasty. Don’t miss the bagna cauda - deliciousness itself!
Enjoyed the food but won’t return because of the noise level. Needs baffling so that the sound doesn’t bounce against high ceiling and exposed HVAC. Because it’s so loud, the wait staff seemed intrusive and overbearing because he had to scream and had no sense that he was interrupting a conversation, how could he. Wanted to scream when we left after two hours, in fact I did. A restaurant experience is more than just the food. Good food is a dime a dozen and expected. A good restaurant experience is rare.
Bringing my grumpy, 84 year old father out for dinner is always a bit like playing Russian Roulette, you never know which way it’s going to go. Therefore, we all gave a sigh of relief that the service and food were so excellent, he couldn’t find fault! We chose the $60 - ‘please feed me whatever you like’ option and we were overwhelmed with a continual stream of delicious and original dishes. In the words of my father, “it doesn’t get better than this!” We’ll definitely be back!
We tried the course menu for $60 per person, we got two dishes for appetizers, salads, pasta, entrees and dessert. Everything was delicious and well worth the price. Staff were friendly and came frequently to our table to make sure everything was okay. The noise level wasn’t too bad compared to other restaurants. Definitely would be coming back here again
Super riendly staff. Fox shaped pasta for our 3 year old. Prosecco for our anniversary. Delicious food.
Did not seat us on time. Brought out the first appie 30 minutes after the order. Extremely slow service.
The duck pasta is fantastic. So are the potatoes. I dinged them a couple of stars because the top sirloin steak was tough and I wasn’t happy as it was the main, and most expensive dish.
Servers rushed us and pushed the wine.
Food was adequate.
Over rated from our experience
Birthday dinner , beautifully done food excellent dinner and service
We heard a lot about this restaurant and how hard it was to get a reservation. We booked a couple weeks in advance and excited to try it out.
Started out with their blood orange spritz. Fantastic! We ordered their 5 course tasting menu so we got to try a large variety of foods.
First course was their Proscuitto di Parma. Sooooo good! Proscuitto nice and salty balanced with the sweetness of the apple, crunch of the bread sticks, richness of the Parmesan and the grana. The next appetizer was the Bagna cauda, hot anchovy & garlic bath. This was one of my favourite dishes! It was interesting to dip different vegetables into the garlic and anchovy "sauce" and it really just needed lots of bread to soak up the goodness. Our server brought more bread. AWESOME!
Next was the Brussell sprouts. Quite good but better can be had elsewhere (Flying Pig!). Then the pasta started rolling. Duck cacciatore was tasty but I preferred their potato gnocchi! That was my favourite dish and exactly as expected. Great flavour and the mushrooms were just delicious! Highly recommend you to try this!
We were quite full at this point when more food started arriving. Pan seared bison which was excellent. Perfectly cooked and flavourful. Then the duck breast came which was another dish we enjoyed. Crispy skin and super tender. Two sides of broccoli and pan fried potatoes. The potatoes were another of my favourites. Lol. Just love the char on it as well as being crispy...
And that was it until the two desserts came. I can't remember the first one but it was custard with chunks of carrot cake. Then a chocolate torte sprinkled with sea salt. Can't believe how much I like the sea salt to balance the sweetness of the chocolate.
All in all, a great meal that was very enjoyable.
Went for my Girlfriend's birthday and they did a great job making it special. Food was definitely 5 stars. Not the cheapest place, but definitely not expensive for this quality of restaurant.
By far one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in Vancouver. Service is exceptional. Dinner was timed well. Dishes were delectable. Atmosphere was happening.
Had a great meal at Osteria. My partner and I did the Famigllia style and we are pescatarians which was an easy workaround according to the server and he was right! The food was great. Stuffed mushroom was nothing amazing but it was good. Kale salad was surprisingly delicious, the pasta we had was so beautiful, so delicate, so good! The butternut squash purée added a great touch. The tuna was fresh and tasty followed by two sides of parsnips and cauliflower and some tasty carrots. Both were good but I didn’t love the parsnips. Dessert was also delicious with a decadent chocolate tarte and salted caramel gelato which had that yummy gelato texture-so creamy. All in all a beautiful meal in a beautiful restaurant. It is loud in there and seating is close. Also parking isn’t easy. Still try and get a table if you can. You won’t regret it.
Ordered the family style dinner and it was amazing! Get ready to roll out of there because at the end you will be stuffed! So so delicious couldn’t recommend enough !!
Wow! We started with the mortadella bruschetta, moved on to the kale salad, roasted squash Tortelli, dry aged New York steak and finished with the lemon custard. Everything was spectacular, including the bottle of Produttori dei Barbaresco. Austin, our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We will return soon for another Salvo Volpe feast.
Awesome service in a ‘no-reservations thank you’ era. Appreciated the acknowledgement that us paying implied we were worthy of respect
Just a fantastic food ! Seating could be more private, kind of awkward constantly looking in others plates...
Sublime food. A bit noisy for conversation.
service was excellent. I love the ambiance. the bisson was overly salted though but the rest of the food was good
Highly recommended. Excellent Food & Services. Would visit soon!
We book the latest slot possible so that the noise level is more tolerable. The acoustics of the venue are the ONLY thing that keeps us from moving in. ;-)
Osteria Savio Volpe is a must for any pasta lover! They make all their pasta in-house, their dishes are always cooked to perfection and the restaurant offers a special, rustic Italian cuisine. Savio is fantastico and one of the best restaurants in Vancouver hands down!
Lovely as always
We had a wonderful server, Dondy, who explained the Italian descriptions on the menu to us. The kale salad and gnocchi were excellent. The duck rigatoni was very good with ample duck meat. The interior was beautiful and there was no noise from the other tables. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal.
The most incredible place I’ve ever dined. The server was informative while not being annoying. I went in for my birthday and they had a card waiting on the table and gave me a cute birthday treat! Don’t even get me started on the food. It was so delicious for such a good price. I left that night with a smile and full belly!
Had a wonderful time celebrating my boyfriends birthday. Food and service were outstanding. Can’t wait to come back and try some more dishes off the menu.
Excellent service and the food was outstanding
Food was excellent as per usual! Best Italian restaurant in the city - outstanding entrees.
Everything is always amazing! We keep going back and it never disappoints.
I was looking forward to my first visit to Savio Volpe on Dec. 30th, and we brought guests. Not sure if this is always the case or holiday craziness but there were hordes of people inside waiting for tables and standing beside tables near the entrance - not conducive to an enjoyable experience. And although service was very good, it felt rushed. They seem to be booking people into time-frames that are too tight! The food was delicious: we had beet salad, duck and bolognese pastas, veal chop and kale. Everything was tasty except that the veal was unusually chewy. This could have been a wonderful occasion but it was marred by the crowds. Something needs to be done about that.
Have been wanting to come here since it opened a few years ago so was very excited as has heard so many great things! that said... unfortunately it may have just been an off night, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and staff was great, we just found that everything we ordered was extreamly salty, and one of our orders never made it to table, we would have reminded our server but at that pt we were already not loving what we had. I inderstand cured meats and cheeses are quite salty and that was fine, well enjoyed but the mains were a miss sadly. Would still recommend and hope to try again but for price and reputation feel it should hace been much better.
Our 8th visit to Savio Volpe for 2019. Don't think we've ever done that before at any restaurant. Not even close. SV is arguably the best restaurant in Vancouver right now. If you haven't been, just go. Eat a la famiglia: they bring food to your table. You will not leave hungry and the bill is entirely reasonable. Service is above and beyond. The restaurant is very lively but somehow the sound baffles on the ceiling allow for easy conversation and hearing, at least in the booths near the front (we sat at a table near the back of the restaurant once and found it much more difficult to converse). I write this with a bit of that feeling of telling your friends of a spectacular bottle of vino at the local shop, at a great price, only to find it sold out or selling at a higher price when you next go in. But SV is worth it. They deserve the widest praise. Just pray it doesn't go to their heads. They should change nothing. They've already aced it.
We had a great experience at OSV!...it was a special occasion and were treated to a very nice evening. We chose the family style option...every course was delicious; each having their own specific flavour and presentation. Service was good however there were times we were looking for our server and a bit pricey... also the restaurant is very noisy; so be prepared to lean into your conversations....would definitely recommend.
We returned for yet another family birthday and were not disappointed. We always have a really good time here. We order the Chef’s menu and it was once again perfect. Many courses, lots of seasonal, fresh flavours and each course timed perfectly. The sommelier was outstanding, and very responsive to our questions and interest in the wine list. She took the time to offer suggestions along the way, and really enhanced the experience. Thanks so much to the kitchen and wait staff for another wonderful family occasion! We’ll be back.
We are family style with the wine pairings and enjoyed every course. Food and service were excellent.
All very good ..
..service ..outstanding from the moment we stepped into the room to the very last moment when we departed..truly memorable!.the staff are all on the same page and it is the right page.
..food .. there were no weak moments..only outstanding surprises as we worked through the 5 curses.
.ambience..way cool!..friendly..casual and comfortable..we were first timers but felt as comfortable as regulars..(which we will become)
My first time visiting Osteria Savio Volpe. Enjoyed our evening very much. A little challenged with the menu and how to structure the dinner because of the shared dishes format. Guess I will need more practice and will have to return. Cheers
Excellent as always! Wonderful cuisine and service. Closest you can get to being in Italia!
