A delightful and delicious experience from the first bite to the last. We’ll be back!
We were blown away by everything at this restaurant the food, the atmosphere, the service is outstanding! Rarely do you get all three of these elements in one place. Every item we ordered was amazing, flavorful and filling. This was our first time and we will back for more! They made my husbands birthday special and he was impressed!
Food took a little longer than expected. But overall, awesome!
Great place , great concept
Noisy and loud Hipster crowd and foodie lovers. Food is wonderful Italian preparations. Waitress was knowledgeable and very helpful. Not 4 star service, more like casual eatery. Prices are expensive.
Really great experience and wonderful food. The tables are a bit close, but the crowd is fun.
Delicious food. Lively atmosphere. A bit noisy for older folks !
I requested to go to this place to celebrate my birthday. I had pasta back in Italy and I have been looking for an Italian restaurant with good pasta in Vancouver for a long time. Ordered 2 pastas and both were very tasty. Garlic bread, Kale salad, Tortelli, Orecchiette, Cannoli for dessert, a beer and 4 Americano and it was just $35 per person with tips. It wasn't pricey at all as some as comment. Ambiance was a bit noisy but acceptable. Service was excellent. I will definitely return. Remember to make reservations, it's a very busy restaurant.
Great meal, wonderful service and enjoyable vibe. Went with 5 course menu and was pleasantly surprised with each entree. Bison was outstanding.
We arrived a few minutes early and were promptly seated. The servers were nice but don't appear to be very knowledgeable about the menu and were not able to make proper recommendations leaving us deeply disappointed with the experience. We ordered tagliatelle, spring salmon, chicoria and dry aged top sirloin. We also tried ordering the fried zucchini flowers but they were all out.
When we tried ordering one main dish for each person, the server made a comment that made it appear that it was too much for the table. Our food came one by one with large waiting times in between. First came the pasta which we found to be quite a small portion. Next the dry aged top sirloin which, by itself was good, but doesn't come with any kind of side dish or carbohydrate. The server should have recommended that we order a garlic bread or something else. It was also medium rare - which we like - but any proper restaurant should ask how the customer wants it cooked or at least inform them how it's cooked. Next came the salmon which we had to return because it was still raw in the middle. There were no apologies, only an explanation that that's how they cooked it. Again, they should mention or ask. Not wanting to waste the night, we ordered all the desserts which is what's best on their menu for the price.
We had a meal designed just for us - a la familia - and it was worth every penny! There are quite a few foods that, between the 4 in our group, we don't eat. Savio Volpe made it easy for us to enjoy every course, and did we ever get bang for the buck! Excellent value. 2 plates served for each of four courses, plus some sides with our mains, and the dishes ranged from very good to outstanding. Mariah was our main contact/hostess - her attentive care made the evening exceptional. We found the restaurant rather noisy, which can make for a great vibe - we prefer dining in a quieter atmosphere, but we'd return in a heartbeat despite the din. Absolutely worth it!
As always, great place, great wine, exquisit food ( prepared with a lot of care, tasty), great attention, ambiance.
I like the design.
I find it a bit noisy
Amazing food, and atmosphere! I would recommend this for a date night! Delicious FOOD
Portion size was small but the pastas were delicious. You must order a meat dish to be full at the end of the meal. Service was OK and I like the casual ambience. All in all quite expensive!
Very authentic food! Highly recommend it. You must have a reservation
We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is always exceptional, the service thoughtful and the general experience leaves us wanting to plan our next visit before we've even left.
First, let me start with a comment that the food here is outstanding and I should stay it is fairly priced compared to other options in Vancouver. The pasta is simply amazing, and the interior decor is very inviting. The ambiance is a bit on the louder side and is definitely not a place for you to spend more than 2 hours with friends / families. I was here with two other friends and truly enjoyed the food. The only negative thing I experienced is the service. There were two girls at the front desk when I arrived and they simply look uninterested to help you. It was not a great experience. The server for our table is also not interested in helping, she brushed over the special features and didn't provide a service level expected from place that produces such great food. Overall, I'd still recommend to visit here for the food, though I wish the service is better.
The food and service was excellent, the only thing it was a bit to noisy and loud for us.
We had a lovely dinner! Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious.
Service was wonderful and attentive. We ordered the chef’s menu which was good but a bit too spaced. From 5:30 when they took our order to 20 to 8 when we rushed out to try to catch a 8 o’clock play leaving a mostly uneaten dessert behind, the pacing was off. Food was plentiful and mostly good. Could have done without kale salad and did not have much of an opportunity to try the desserts. The price for the chef’s table was very reasonable.
They've thought of every detail. The food is outstanding and the service is attentive, friendly and respectful. A completely wonderful experience for a special dinner.
Loved the food and the service!
Wonderful meal the burrata with blistered cherry tomatoes was out if this world.
Easily one of the best meals I’ve eaten in Vancouver, ever. That garlic bread! The pastas! The prosciutto. Only good things to say.
Always love the food. Our server was good and knowledgeable. Felt slightly rushed a few times (even though we dined in 1.25 hours). He motioned to take our appetizer plate before it was done so I shoveled the last few bits in while he stood there. I figured he was only doing it because our mains must have been on the way. Yet, we still waited 15 minutes for our mains after being rushed. We sat at the counter which I love as you can watch some prep and drinks being prepared. However on this particular evening it seemed one of the bartenders was very flustered... bumping into me twice as she passed me. Neither of these service flaws would stop me from recommending this restaurant as the food is always amazing and the service tends to be exceptional. However, when you typically offer exceptional service, flaws like this stand out much more.
Food and service Outstanding but nearly lost my hearing because the acoustics in the restaurant had no ceiling sound baffles whatsoever which would to help increase speech intelligibility and music clarity. Instead we spent the whole dinner shouting across to each other repeatedly 'What? Could you repeat that?!" You get the idea...
If I go back, I will bring my ear plugs and hopefully by then, have learned how to read lips & sign language...
Awesome Piedmontese spot in SoMa!
Service was excellent. Food divine. Great experience.
I have been to this place twice, both time with friends. The drink list and food list are good with quite a bit of choice to choose from. Just the food was a bit saltier than what I had expected, otherwise, it is a perfect place to hangout.
Wonderful restaurant. We were a family group of 6 and had the familiar dinner which was great. It was a fantastic way to sample a number of dishes. They were all excellent and there was lots of food. One of our group has celiac disease and they were really attentive and did a good job dealing with that. Our server was terrific and very entertaining. The wine that was suggested was great and was a good match to our meal. Overall a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.
One of the most amazing meals we've ever had. The food was truly unbelievable.
Food was excellent!! I would definitely dine there again.....
The food was amazing. The interior is beautiful.
We ordered price fixed menu for 2 people. Pasta was the best one I have ever eaten. The Pavlova dessert as a birthday cake was very tasty.
I’ll definitely come back.
An absolutely flawless and lovely evening! The atmosphere is busy and vibrant, the service is professional and seamless, and the food is AMAZING!
Amazing food, they never disappoint. I am a picky eater who is afraid of trying new foods generally, but I’ve tried and loved every thing I’ve eaten here. Can’t recommend savio volpe enough!
Great food and excellent services. The Bagna cauda and Rigatoni with sunday sauce were delicious (we ordered extra bread to clean out the last drop of sauce). Make sure you reserve a table to avoid disappointment. This place is almost always full every night.
Came here to celebrate my birthday.
We had great pastas and appetizers.
The service was excellent and we enjoyed the modern look of the restaurant.
Loved the food. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommended!
Went there on a week night thinking it would be less busy, but the place was packed! That showed how popular this place is. Our favorite dishes were grilled calliflower, lamb pasta and the dark chocolate pie. The most enjoyable part of the meal was the excellent service throughout the evening. Our server was attentive, caring and funny. He made the whole dinner that much more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to all our friends and family.
It was my birthday and I felt they went above and beyond to make it special for me. We had a most wonderful evening and the food was delicious.
