food and ambience was really great. Our server was very accommodating and cheerful.
Great Restaurant! They were able to accommodate my dairy allergy and still serve us an amazing feast. The service was phenomenal; our water was absolutely wonderful. Can't wait to go back again!
HI, very good experience overall, great food. We really appreciate the free wine on our anniversary. I think just during this time, some seats were a bit close for our liking. Ensure there is good air exchange from inside to outside air, that would help decrease the likeliness of transmission.
I've never had a bad experience here ! The food here is amazing. Great for sharing or all for yourself! Try the lamb polenta, you won't be disappointed!
Rob was awesome and we had a great time there. Great food, and great service!
Absolutely amazing, the service was wonderful and the food outstanding. We had the chef's choice $65 per person and that is definitely the way to go at this restaurant.
The food at Savio Volpe is excellent! I love coming to this restaurant and will be back. The only criticisms are- I find the space very loud and we were told that we had 1hr 45mins for our reservation which is a bit off putting to hear. Probably would have been enough time if the server was at our table promptly, but it took longer than expected to initially get served.
We had a wonderful evening, food was amazing our waiter was super nice!!
Great energy to the place so the perfect venue for a Friday night dinner. Food was delicious and service was prompt. The only thing I’d suggest is that I’d appreciate if the servers took the time to explain the wine (we did a pairing) and the food, as I’m sure there was a lot of thoughtfulness behind it all.
I love everything about this restaurant. Service is fast and kind, food is fresh and delicious, and the ambience puts you in a relaxed, happy mood. The server called me “bella” almost every time he came to the table and I’ve never been happier. I will enthusiastically recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in delicious and comforting Italian cuisine!
I have been to Savio Volpe many times, and have always been very impressed with the quality of food and service. Maybe it's because of covid, but this was not the best outing for us? There was no Prosciutto Crudo, which they always had. Only cooked Prosciutto which was disappointingly bland. The salads were good but over salty, and I love salt. The pasta dishes were all very good, All of the meal items on the Familia courses were excellent other than the Lamb. It was literally raw. The other funny part of the evening was the refusal of the staff to take a picture of the table with my phone even after we had wiped it down. But they happily gave me there credit card scanner for payment.
ironic
I will definetly be going back to Salavio howvever as it was overall a great night.
I will definitely come back! It was an amazing journey of the food. Thank you a lot for making our dinner special :)
Loved the ambiance and design of this place. The food was great and our server was very attentive and helpful with the menu. The portions were quite small for the price. I still would definitely recommend.
Hadn't been to Savio in about a year's time and it had always been one of my favourite spots in Vancouver and it did not disappoint a year later. It was simply AMAZING. And what better review than that of an old Italian that accompanied me and he could not stop singing the praises. Rosemary Chicken like Nona used to make he said. The familia style service is the only way to go - let the server choose for you. You will not go wrong. Melt in your mouth Burrata, fresh salad, pasta cooked perfectly and with a flavourful sauce and the Rosemary Chicken. The service could not have been more attentive and the ambiance - delightful! Oh, how I have missed this restaurant and I know it will not be another year before I venture back. In a city of great options for food, don't miss out on this one!
Food and service was great. I was dissatisfied with the fact that I booked our reservation in December and we got sat at the bar. Was quite uncomfortable
waiter was the best waiter i have ever had
An excellent recommendation by a friend to us. Great service and food choice. Allow the chef to cook for you!
There’s something to be said about a restaurant that keeps its customers coming back, but, what for?
At your restaurant my partner and I especially enjoyed the food. It reminded me of a time I shared with someone special with a treat we equally enjoyed. We in that moment we’re just happy to be there. The ambience was surely beautiful however because of where we were seated I was distracted by the kitchen light that blared into my eye the entire dinner time. It made my visit more a chore to sit but in all - thank goodness for taste buds.
Food and service was great; the only set back was the longer wait for food. I
Bday
Hard to understand the menu never got prices in specials. Sizes are not to fill up
I LOVE this restaurant. Been here a handful of times and it NEVER disappoints!
Had a great experience. Has the dine alla famiglia. The menu curated for us wasn't exactly to our taste. We wish that we had ordered a la carte instead. We want to go back and try to do just that.
unexpected ingredients should be noted on the menu
virtually every entre contains pork, even spaghetti sauce.
I don’t usually write reviews. We decided to step out of our comfort bubble in Yaletown to give Savio Volpe a try. The ambience was nice and we were seated right away. However, seating was in the very back where we couldn’t really enjoy the ambience. Our server was pleasant but the menu was quite confusing to navigate. For the al la familiga option, the table gets the same meal for each course which didn’t work as me and my spouse have different preferences. The food was average-we have had better smoked salmon, pasta and chicken. The food arrived lukewarm and was cold by the time we were feasting. We had to flag our server for water, wait at least 20 minutes after the check to pay our bill. My partner ordered a “duck Ragu” which we were hoping would be a red sauce but it wasn’t. We didn’t pack it to go so the staff comp’d it on our bill-which was great! Overall, quite an underwhelming experience given the special occasion. I am still hoping to understand the hype about this place..
Very good food and excellent service.
Portions are a bit too generous....I would have loved to taste a few more dishes
Our time at Savio Volpe was amazing! The food was perfect, all the staff that helped us were hospitable, and we felt comfortable in the restaurant. I am looking forward to coming back in the future to experience it all again!
I love the vibe of this place. Even though the food is very very amazing and a little more fancy, the experience doesn’t feel pretentious at all. The covid plexiglass layout is really great in that it feels like a regular part of the design. We did the surprise 5 course dinner for two. I loved every bite (and omg that fresh baked bread 🤤).
Great. Would come back for sure!
It was great. Oxtail rigatoni is a must.
Perfect as always.
We always enjoy our Familia style meals there.
Great food and awesome service.
We've gone here a handful of times and the service and food never fails us. I always recommend the special because they are seasonal and always delicious!
My wife and I choose to do the 'alla famigla' consisting of five courses. All the courses were outstanding and the service was first rate. It was a great experience not knowing what was coming next. It was a little more food than we could eat, but the best part was taking home the leftovers. I would highly recommend for any occasion.
Amazing food and staff! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great Italian food!
Fantastic food!! .................................
Some tables were a little closer than expected. The plexiglass screens were flimsy and kept shaking when ppl sat down or leaned back. That just left the ambience a little uncomfortable.
As for the servers and dining experience it was a 10/10. I loved that there was a birthday card waiting for me at the table and a specialized birthday dessert.
This is one of the best restaurants in Vancouver. Very approachable, super hip and not pretentious, this place is all about the food. You can tell the ingredients are the best quality, the flavours are perfection. It's a really exciting meal, top top top.
Appetizers were great but it went downhill from there. We waited over 30 minutes after the appies for the mains courses. The pasta texture was decent, but overall, it was over seasoned. But by that point, I was just too hungry and ate it anyway. We skipped dessert because I really didn't know how long it would take and I didn't want to sit there any longer.
I was disappointed that our waitress didn't check in on us during that half hour wait; although, she and the manager did stop by afterwards to acknowledge the long wait and comped us some garlic knots. We did politely voice our concern with the pasta and the manager took it off our bill. We weren't expecting this and having finished the pasta, I was fully prepared to pay for it; but this probably improved it from a 1 star experience.
Overall, I have had better food and service elsewhere at a similar price point. Given its reputation and the traffic at the restaurant, maybe my experience was a one-off. I'd be open to give it another chance, but I'm not eager or motivated to do so.
Way too loud and seems over packed for Pandemic times. There were people not in our party about an inch behind either side.
Service was not welcoming. Except the servers that brought out some dishes. they were nice. Otherwise we had to reach out to get more water etc.
Poor door management as we were asked to wait outside while repeatedly other customers cut in front of us by walking through the main door and then being seated first (each had arrived after us, some literally stepping out of their car to stroll on in). Even though we had a reservation and the waiting in the rain didn’t help.
