Really unsure what the hype is about this place. Food was meh. Tables are super close together. Like uncomfortably close. We went with the 5 course chef chosen menu. It wasn’t really explained to us very well and/or we clearly didn’t understand (to be honest, the server spoke so quietly I could barely hear a word she was saying). I thought we were going to get 5 new dishes; rather we ended up getting 5 dishes from the existing menu just chosen by the chef. Had I known this I would have for sure mentioned I didn’t want a particular dish on the menu. As it turned out, there was a pork entree that I really didn’t want and it was what we got for the entree. I was right for not wanting it. The entree and side were in a word disappointing. So much oil in the chard that it was inedible and the pork was just bland. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
Travis was our server and immediately made us feel welcome. After our drink order, he suggested the “family” menu. Travis checked for any food allergies and strong dislikes and then took the reigns from there. We had 5 corses plus a special birthday treat and left so full we could barely walk. Every single course was amazingly delicious.
Tables are very close so noise can be an issue but not so bad we couldn’t carry on a conversation.
This is a don’t miss location for a meal—ask for Travis’s section and you will be well taken care of!
Our evening was fantastic and of course the food and service we're excellent.
Booked it for a get together with friends. Dined at a leisurely pace. Great service. Tasty food. Good atmosphere.
Great service, seats were very close so not great for intimacy but nice to converse at times.. food was awesome
Again dishes are getting less and smaller. This makes it more expensive than it should be.
Had an amazing birthday dinner there, best pastas, salad and desserts and ambiance is beautiful, good lighting for an eve meal
Took over an hour for our first dish to arrive they gave us free bread but should have knocked the cost of one meal off. The food was very good when it arrived and the dessert divine would go back despite long wait for food. Waiters were friendly enough.
Time and time again Savio puts out consistently delicious and innovative food. Every bite of each dish was such a tasteful delight. We will be back!
What should have been a great experience( wonderful food, excellent service) was seriously undermined by loud, irritating music, further exacerbating the already too noisy atmosphere. We asked for the music to be turned down or changed several times, but the polite serving staff seemed helpless to do anything. My impression is that people who like extremely loud music get their choice, while people who want a quieter experience just have to go somewhere else.
Seating is cramped in booth with 6 adult people, 4 would be best. But not sure if they accomodate that request. Also quieter seating away from the back area where the kitchen is located since music is very loud in that section.
Most of our dishes were too over salty but tasty. Would request for less salt on food next time.
Service was efficient but not that friendly.
Food was great! We ordered a la carte and prices were fair. Portions meant to be shared, so better with a group of 4+ so you can try many things. I noted that it's our anniversary on the Open Table reservation; they gave us some complimentary sparkling wine at the beginning of the meal, which was nice. The tables are very close to each other, so you will *not* have an intimate dining experience. We very easily heard conversations from tables on either side of us. We'll be back!
Always a wonderful experience. The Menu is ever changing and fairly adventurous, the flavor profile exciting.
Excellent service and delicious hand made pasta. Took brother for his birthday. Loved the little touches like birthday card left on table and complimentary dessert. Will definitely go back to Savio Volpe again.
Major issue was that the tables were way too close together. Felt like one big party with strangers.
Food was good but not something I would eat on a regular basis.
Lack of drink options was disappointing
Service was really good and the food came out hot and on time.
Phenomenal as always. Great place to spend New Year. Love this place.
Family style is really great value, huge portions. I think it's better for groups tho, going as a group of 2 they sit you right next to other people (who in our case were really distracting). The service is very attentive but could be more friendly. Manager/owner? Seems nice tho. Could use a bigger cocktail menu.
Overall wound recommend
Dishes keep getting less and less. Service getting slower
Amazing service and food!! I would highly recommend this restaurant!!
Veal was overly salty but aside from that the rest of the food was great
Overall I would say Savio Volpe was good, maybe due to the hype I was expecting something else, but the service was really great. We had the chef's choice and I think we should have ordered a la carte as the seasonal salad and pasta course weren't what we were expecting. I usually love the chef's choice at restaurants. It was a nice experience though so I would try Savio Volpe again!
We had a wonderful time. Starters all the way to dessert were stellar. Service was on point and we had a lovely time.
Travis H was excellent as our waiter. Funny and helpful. He had a lot of good suggestions for dinner. Everything he suggested was delicious. Very good at his job. The staff in general was very attentive, my water glass was never empty!
Great restaurant! Absolutely give it a go. 2 notes, 1: our 830 reso was late by 30 minutes, which I think is unacceptable. 2: I found some of the staff to be snooty. Proper service but with an air of superiority. I’ll try again and see if a 2nd time it is different. If it’s not I would not go back.
Really love this place. 100% authentic. The wood fire just makes it - so the flavour of the meet is awesome.
Amazing time and great service!
.We ate “family style” - the food was excellent and just kept on coming! Every morsel was perfect. Our waiter was delightful and funny.
This was our first time dining and we are looking forward to coming back. All of the dishes were delicious! Their gnocchi was some of the best I ever had. They change the menu daily, so we will see what they serve next!
Very cozy upscale ambiance with unique family-style seating available and guided menu. Definitely worth a try.
Service is as can be anticipated for a quality restaurant. Food is much better than comparable restaurants. Seating is very tight and noise is high. High energy dining, not an elegant and relaxing place for a special occasion.
My Boyfriend and I have eaten at Savio 7 times. The food, service, and ambience never disappoints! It’s ALWAYS our favourite place to go to when we’re craving pasta!
There’s rustic and then there’s “I could have made this at home.” This restaurant is good, but no more than that and has veered over into being all scene and unexceptional food.
Very accommodating & service was very attentive. Excellent food, promptly served & a cannoli which finally beat out my previous favourite of the last 25 years.
Memorable meal - great food and impeccable service!!
Great food and personable service. Menu with a lot of variety and choice. Lots of share plates perfect for a small group of friends or date.
It was a memorable and very special place, good food, beautiful place with a fantastic ambience.
Too loud an environment for me. They squeeze far too many people in there, then they also pipe music overtop. Prefer not to have to yell across the table. Bad for taking a date and having meaningful conversation without being misheard. Did not feel I got value for food with the size of the bill. However staff and service are great. As soon as I got home was still hungry and had to snack, and I am not obese if that's what you're thinking. Would not return.
Best restaurant in the city! The chef's menu is awesome (especially for a party of 4).
Came here to celebrate a birthday and we had the chef's menu (5-course meal). All of the dishes were imaginative and delicious. Portions were generous. The service was excellent.
Had a delicious meal here. They unfortunately dropped the ball on our service and we waited well over an hour for our entree. Instead of apologizing for the mix up, they muttled through some other explanation. They did comp an item and any desserts we wanted. This stuff happens for certain but, just admit the mistake is all
