Server/host and all dining staff was EXTREMELY kind and attentive. Felt very much like a family home style dinner. Would come again! Portions are a little on the smaller side (I would say each order is great for 2 people), so if you are a larger party take that into account!
Try the $55 per guest menu. Its sooo worth it! Food was yummy. Service was immense. Order anything from the wood fired menu and u wont go wrong.
The service was excellent, the food superb and the ambiance was lovely. Try a bottle of their house red wine...its yummy. I try to dine here at least 4 times a year and it is never disappointing. It was may birthday and there was a Birthday card on the table waiting for me and a complimentary birthday treat after our meal. It was NOT unbelievable! Thanks for the personal touches...it really made me fell like it was a special day.
Great touch that they brought us prosecco for our wedding anniversary and then pink Italian sofa for myself because I’m pregnant! Server was okay...could’ve been more attentive? Food was really good! However, tables were too tight and really ruined the vibe of our dinner - no personal space and slightly ruined our celebration. Overall, great food but too loud and tightly spaced for special occasions/romantic celebrations.
Orgasmic and exceptional menu! Service was incredible.
Friggin amazing. Best date spot. Thats all i wanted to say.
Amazing. All of it. The service, the food, the ambiance. Can't wait to go back.
Savio Volpe was recommended to us by friends, and I had seen it rated favourably in a number of magazines so I was excited. We ordered the chicoria salad, gnocchi, sirloin steak and potatoes. The dishes come out in courses but are meant to be shared, which we liked. The salad seemed like it hadn't been mixed properly, or perhaps it had settled for too long as the pork and potato were buried at the bottom. The dressing was heavy-handed and it was far too vinegary; combined with the capers, it overwhelming the flavour of everything else. I couldn't taste the chicory at all, which was a shame as I like bitter greens, while the pork and potatoes were not very flavourful but added merely some texture to the dish. The pork was supposed to be crispy but it was overcooked in some bits—I worried at one point that I had broken a tooth when I bit down on a really hard piece of pork. The gnocchi was beautifully cooked and delicious and by far the best part of the meal. The steak was sliced in half lengthwise, and one half was noticeable overcooked compared to the other side, which made it tough and dry. The waitress had said it would come medium rare, but it was definitely more like a medium (and I tend to prefer rare steak anyway). We ordered the potato side dish, which was good but frankly, for a $38 steak, should have come with the steak instead of being an additional dish. None of the desserts sounded very appealing, and the beer list is typical of what you will find at most other trendy Vancouver restaurants. As for wines, neither of us are fans of Italian wines in general so others might find it more to their liking than we did.
We had been looking forward to dine here for weeks. This is a popular restaurant, full house even on weeknights. Food were very flavorful, pastas were al dents. Definitely recommend their pasta and the beta5 gelato tiramisu. However, the food is relatively saltier, maybe ask the server is they can tone down the salt. Over all was a satisfying meal, and I would come back to eat here very shortly.
Amazing staff and food. Sat at the counter seats and it was an awesome experience.
The overall experience was phenomenal! Marco was our server and he was amazing!
One of the best service i had in my life. They kept coming and filling my wife's soda water and my water.
I LOVE Salvio Volpe. Despite it being a very noisy room, I do love to come here for dinner. I would recommend it for sure, the food is wonderful and the people are great, just the room is noisy for sure!
We live in the neighbourhood and have been here five or six times now. The food is always fantastic but through our last two visits I've noticed the service sliding. The waitperson we had last night seemed unenthused and inattentive. It was particularly noteworthy because the service used to be exemplary here. I hope it isn't a downward trend as we have come to appreciate having such an outstanding restaurant in the area.
Visiting from Vermont and were given a great review from a friend as well as our hotel. The waiter was amazing, asked us what we liked/didn’t like and we decided to go w the chef’s tasting. Every course was fantastic and together very well rounded. He also recommended a bottle of wine which we loved. Great restaurant!
Been here twice now and the food is amazing! Went on a date with my boyfriend and he loved it too :) the carne cruda is so good! All the pasta is drool-worthy too.
My only complaint is how squished the seating is... I could reach over and eat off my neighbour’s plate if I wanted to, and I felt like I was intruding on their convo by just sitting there! A little uncomfortable. Will definitely ask for a booth next visit.
Wednesday night dinner. 7 pm table. Small, but great menu. Excellent server, wonderful food. will go again. We shared gnocchi, best we have had, light and fluffy nice tom sauce. Meat balls were good sized, 3 and again sauce was wonderful all around us others were ordering all sorts of good things. Noise got a bit loud when restaurant was full by 8:30. Good wine list. 3 deserts, we could have had them all. Will return. Need to make reservation a few weeks in advance. Staff were very friendly and knew their food and wine. Thanks for a great dinner.
Love this Italian restaurant and very appreciated and thanks for the kindness too, one you stepped inside, everyone welcome you and found a surprised birthday card on the table, and every server around will ask you whose birthday and with blessing ! Foods are great and now can’t wait going back to try the chef of the day special menu
(I don’t know why photos couldn’t upload in here )
We went with the family style (chef's choice and served as dishes to share at the table). Very happy we did. The service was excellent, in particular the main host. We had many different people serving us (at one point I joked that every staff person made it to our table at some point) but he was top notch. He had a great sense of humor, but professional, with high energy and knowledgeable about the food and the wine menu. There was a zucchini dish that was really good, which was a bit of a surprise as none of us love zucchini normally. Raw and fresh, simply prepared. The pappardelle was fantastic.
Great food with fabulous service. I personally find the restaurant a bit noisy, but that gives it its hip vibe.
Chef’s menu was delicious and the service was excellent!
The environment is very loud so it’s difficult to carry on an intimate conversation. I think it’s probably better for a group looking to have fun over an intimate date. The food was somewhat salty. Portions somewhat small for the price. Overall was disappointed.
I love this place and have been 4 or 5 times
Each time I love the food and service but wish the music wasn’t so loud
You have to eat in silence
Fantastic food, great open space. Fabulous time!
We had a great experience. The food is really good, as in very rich and buttery. Great restaurant for people who like home cooking and comforting recipes taken a notch up in preparation and fresh, rich ingredients. We did the Chef's selection and every single dish was really good. My husband and I are both good eaters and we were pretty full after dinner.
One of the very best Osterias we’ve visited.
They work hard so you have a great time, and eat fabulous Italian fare.
The best way to describe my first time at Savio Volpe is delighted. Every single bite, from the kale salad, throughout the meatballs, the agnolotti to the chocolate dessert, it was pure delight!
Our fourth time dining at Osteria Savio Volpe and it never disappoints. This time we brought some friends from New York and they were blown away as well. The service is always perfect, very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. The food is presented beautifully and the ingredients really shine. The chefs in the kitchen orchestrate an absolutely amazing, delicious meal every time. Thank you!
Highly recommend the Farro Salad and the veal chop
Very hard to visit due to noise level. We were unfortunately seated under a air conditioner vent which was cold. We asked to see if it could be turned down but the waitress said it came on “in waves” and nothing seemed to change. The dishes we chose were excellent. The appetizer was buffalo mozzarella with cherry tomatoes and peaches. Super! Also the olives were a big hit. We all had pasta and I would order it again. The dessert I ordered was canaloni(sp?). Big disappointment. Hard as a rock and tasteless.
Food not worth the price. Everything should have tasted better for what we paid for.
We had such a fantastic evening! The food was delicious and the service exceptional!
Amazing restaurant. The food is incredible and the service is even better. We had a super friendly and accommodating server who went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend for a date or for anyone who appreciates great food. Recommend 100%
I'm older, I wear hearing aids. It was uncomfortably loud with no sound baffling or attempts at making any of the experience in anyway comfortable intimate dinner. I found the food good but not exemplary. The service was slow and constantly needing to remind the server to attend for requests and/or clear items from the table.
Overall I'm not sure why this restaurant would be so highly rated by so many people. Not something I'll repeat or recommend unless someone has $ to throw away on another 'experience' in dining.
Worth the hype and worth the wait for a reservation. Food delicious. Service very efficient. Do go and give it a try. Only complaint is so many restaurants these days are too noisy to have a good chat without having to shout to be heard amongst table mates.
Wonderful food and fabulous service
We enjoyed our dinner at Salvio Volpe! Celebrated my husband’s birthday here and we loved the alla famiglia menu. Excellent service too! :) Will definitely be back for more date nights :-)
The staff is incredible, food and wine are delicious and if I lived in Vancouver I would come back once a month. I throughly enjoyed my time, conversations with the staff, atmosphere, pastas, salads, entrees, the whole deal.
Food was delicious, that’s some of the best pasta I have had in Van, I think service could have been better but it was not bad either. Would definitely be back.
