Osteria Savio Volpe Ratings and Reviews
First time at restaurant, had reservation & was seated promptly. Tables extremely close & a couple on either side. Seating obviously arranged to maximize space. Music very loud, difficult to have conversation but conducive to eating fast & getting more customers in. Friendly table next to us recommend skipping salads & told us they sent theirs back. Took their advice! Ordered two mains, (roasted chicken & Mezzaluna pasta with mushrooms), & sides that were extra, meal good but definitely not great. When we finished meal we were never given bill to look at, machine brought directly to table to pay. Never had that happen before!!
Coffee was very good!! Also good wine & drink menu to compliment food but was so loud & crowded couldn’t wait to leave.
The food was good but the server sold us too much food. We asked about the amount of food we ordered (was it too much?)and he said it was fine. Two of the dishes were massive, we quickly cancelled one of the other dishes to come and took food home with us. We are robust eaters but we were defeated. A server should be able to advise appropriately. We had not experienced being overwhelmed by a volume of food so it was an unusual situation. Also the person removing the plates from our table was very enthusiastic. Often clearing the plate before we had finished it.
Exceptional service, great food, warm vibrant atmostphere and not overly expensive. We'll be back!
I booked several months ago for our anniversary dinner. I have tried to make a reservation several times before but no luck. Our dining experience was well worth the wait. Exceptional food and service. We let the chef create our 5 course meal and he didn’t disappoint.
We will be back, too bad it will be a bit of a wait...
Food and service were very good. The ambience was well-done “hipster”. Too noisy for an intimate or important conversation. We found that the prices were more than many of our favourites that deliver better or same quality of food/service. I am glad I tried it once but will not go back.
Nothing special but Good cocktail. Excellent salads. Very good pasta. Good meat (not the duck). Nice wine list for BC. Desserts do not worth to talk about. Very nice decor.
Great experience. Food was amazing, the "chef's choice" option was outstanding and they did a great job putting together our meal.
So delicious. The veal chop with crispy proscuitto and tagliatelle was ridiculously tasty and the dandelion ravioli a must have. Also, lets just discuss the 'tiramisu'.... Im always tempted to order it first. Divine.
For all the hype and waiting list to get in- it was disappointing. Server forgot about us- we had empty drink glasses on the table. Enjoyed appetizer but the beef in the pasta was tough. The chop had a squishy texture too. I just felt like the meat wasn't prepared and executed up to its potential. Esp for the price point. The pasta was excellent and the sauce was delicious. I feel like I missed the boat for this restaurant - must have been fantastic when it first opened to get the great reputation it has. Too bad it doesn't deliver now.
Both the food and service were fabulous. We tried the $55 tasting option, and each dish was delicious. You can tell they use only the freshest, best quality ingredients. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and fun.
Nothing less than amazing food, service, and ambient. Must try if you haven't.
Great Italian away from Italy, for those who can tell the difference. Fabulous service and hospitality. Only down side - really loud - which akways annoys me because it is very distracting and having conversations is exhausting when you have to shout, when they devide to turn the music up even louder.
This was our second visit and the second time we let the staff pick our meal. There were five courses with 10 dishes that were well chosen and very good. This is a great restaurant and we highly recommend it.
Food- never disappoints
Service- one of the best in Vancouver.
My partner and I went for our anniversary and had a wonderful time! Our server was lovely, the food was spectacular, and the ambiance was perfect for a special occasion. Would definitely recommend!
Incredible food - and outstanding customer service (from our server, Marleau). I would rate this as my favourite restaurant in Vancouver.
Excellent food and service—a well deserved favourite
Outstanding service and a wide variety of Italian dishes. Great vibe and ambiance.
Their Sunday sauce pasta is superb. Very gracious and personable servers who were able to pair a good red with our meal. Thanks for making the birthday meal wonderful
Great food and experience! Will definitely go back.
Excellent meal. All courses were very good. Only disappointment was that the special was already sold out by 6:30 pm!
Excelled in all areas as always: food, service and ambience. We’ve been there 10 times since the summer and have never been disappointed.
Great atmosphere. Beautiful space. One complaint - our server, although very attentive and friendly, tried quite hard to upsell us on a few occasions. Kind of disappointing.
It was amazing food and wine was very well recommended!!
Just such a killer place. Everything about it. Amazing.
Always good. Always fun. A feast true to its italian root along with impeccable service. We had a non meat eater with us and our server assured us the kitchen would take care of our friends needs. Savio Volpe is destined to become one of our local culinary treasures. Grazie ragazzi!!!!
First time, great service(attentive and informative but not cloying), loved the atmosphere, food really good but didnt blow us away.
Visited for the 3rd time in past month; always amazing food, great service, a happening place to eat and drink!
Great food, great server, but the front of house was rude. I'd made a request both online and over the phone for a regular table (not a counter) and I didn't hear back. When we got there, they had a counter table for us. This is fine, but they should have returned my call and let me know that my request couldn't be accommodated, as then I would have changed the reservation. Food and other service was great though!
The food and service was amazing. I was early for my reservation and they were able to accommodate without any fuss.
Excellent food paired with excellent service.
My girlfriends and I, really enjoyed our meal. The portions are a little smaller, but really tasty. The only really disappointing dish that we encountered was the fish. It lacked flavor, it needed more seasoning. Also, I liked how they changed our plates in between each course.
Delicious food and beautiful space.
Beautiful restaurant with a mixed crowd. The staffs are so nice and know all about their dishes. The food is awesome especially the pasta.
Friends highly recommended Osteria Savio Volpe for its house made pastas. We came here for an anniversary, and the hostess noted our preferences and notes that we made for our reservation and adjusted their service accordingly which was much appreciated. The menu was very reasonably priced and the pastas were exceptionally delicious! Service was consistent and warm but not obtrusive. Ambiance was lovely, we really enjoyed the decor and aesthetic of the restaurant. This place was good for a casual dinner as well, but we did not feel out of place celebrating a special occasion. I will definitely be coming back.
Had a lovely meal with my family. Delicious food and impeccable service as always.
A cleverly designed restaurant, with an equally charming staff and menu. In fact, the entry door itself served almost as a foreshadow to the actual meal: impressively built, yet welcoming and familiar. The house-special Tortiglioni and Tagliatelle were especially comforting - tastefully hand-made pasta paired with rich, savory sauces. While the waiter who attended to my table was a tad on the overzealous side of up-selling the chef's bespoke dining experience, I do recommend ordering entrees à la carte, with some garlic bread to pair, of course. Come for the hype, stay for the aesthetic (and try to count all the books on the shelf above the kitchen while you're at it)!
We have been trying to dine at Savio’s for a long time , it was well worth the waiting. There was four of us, so we decided to go for the $55 tasting or family style dining. It was perfect. We lost track of how many courses but we were full. They asked about any dietary restrictions and we told them we don’t eat meat as much anymore but fish was fine. The main dish was their halibut steak. It was big, meaty and well cooked. Delicious! At the end we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, but for dessert, two dishes came out. We polished them up. It was perfect. We were saying on the drive home, there was a lot of food tonight but we were not overly stuffed but just comfortable. Well worth the wait.
P.S. the service was excellent as well.
Enjoyed the $55 Chef plates and it was a generous amount of food beautifully prepared. Somewhat rare on the proteins but we savored it all
