Osteria Savio Volpe Ratings and Reviews
Our first time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Good was delicious. Our server Mark was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Are you kidding me???!!! That meal was amazing!!! The veal special was to die for and we just had the chicken as a differe t protein and it was instantly our friend's favorite food in Vancouver!!!
We had an outstanding meal here! Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive and offered great suggestions. I'd definitely recommend dining here.
This was one of the best meals in a long time! Lamb ragu is a must--and I loved that the service took time. It was perfect for our honeymoon date!
We did ‘family style’ which was perfect!
Service was attentive by never in your face.
Only thing I would have preferred would’ve been a bit of a longer break between courses after the 2nd course - I’m sure I could ask for that next time though.
Fantastic and very popular. Casual, delicious Italian family-style dining. Try the fixed price menu–excellent value and many dishes. Gets very busy so book your reservations well ahead of time.
We had a great waiter, been there since opening. The menu is wonderful, lots of choices and a variety of pastas, meats and some vegetarian options. Nice service and an overall good experience. Going again this Friday.
Awesome as always. Food is always creative and delicious, best service team in the city!
Awesome time. Pleasant waiter. Good food.
Good food for the price. Very noisy in the restaurant. Staff super quick and friendly.
Friendly servers, incredible food. We weren't drinking but or waters were ALWAYS topped it. Had a great time!!
We had an amazing experience! Great food and great service looking forward to going back!
One word describes our experience. Outstanding!
The booking process and the confirmations were easy although we had to go for an earlier reservation because it was so busy.
From our complimentary glass of Champagne!!!! to start because it was our anniversary. (I'd forgotten that I had responded to the question of special occasion on booking)...the friendliness of each staff member we encountered.. the ambiance..and most importantly the fabulous food...made for a truly memorable evening!
I just loved the coordination of serving style. I think we had at least seven different people serving us. It was so well organized and everything flowed unbelievably well.
I love to cook and it is so great to go out for dinner and people do it better than you!
Just loved this place. Will definately go back and highly recommend to others.
We did the tasting menu..try it. Just awesome.
Great Italian wine list as well.
2nd time around and this time for my wife's birthday, the service is top notch with very knowledgeable servers and a great menu to back it all up. Bravo Chef!
This was my second time at Savio Volpe. I enjoyed it just as much as the first. The service is impeccable and the food is to die for. Chef Mark does an amazing job with humble ingredients and much care. The bagna cauda is a must! I will be back as much as I can!
Always great food, service and an amazing meal experience every time!
Food was excellent! Realky enjoyed the space and wood fire grill
Everything was amazing! Food was spectacular, service was wonderful and the ambiance pulled it all together into fabulous evening. Outstanding!
Thanks for a memorable evening celebrating our friend's birthday! We love your chef's choice dining experience and the service is always impeccable. Looking forward to our next meal with you!
We rushed in and had an amazing meal on a layover at YQQ. The staff were very accommodating and rushed out our last few courses and packed our dessert to go. They even called a taxi for us.
Marlow is the BEST waiter.
Osteria Savio Volpe is a very casual restaurant but serves excellent food, fresh and tasty. The waitress recommended the special of the day - lamb chops and it was done to perfection. If you go to the restaurant, you mustn't end without the desserts, always very decadent. Early reservation with this restaurant is a must.
Food was delicious and well prepared. Gluten free options are very limited and our server didn't really take the time to explain anything, share her favourites or help with selection. We wanted help selecting a bottle of wine and gave some idea of our preferences. She seemed to focus more on our price point (we wanted to spend around $100), went to the Somalier and then came back with a mediocre bottle of wine (that wasn't even a Sangiovese which was what we wanted). I appreciate when somaliers come to the table and ask questions and share information - this was not the case at all. I don't know if it's cause we're in our early 30s and weren't being taken seriously but I was quite disappointed by the service and will not go back nor recommend. I don't normally take the time to write negative reviews because I want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but honestly, the only person that smiled at us was the host that walked us to our spots and the person pouring us water.
It was also interesting to observe how some patrons were being swooned over where as others (like ourselves) were being treated as if we should be grateful we were even able to get a spot in this ultra-exclusive spot.
Amazing. Delicious. Perfect. What a great evening of fabulous food and wonderful service. Thank you, Savio Volpe, for putting the cherry on top of our weekend visit to Vancouver from the States. ❤️
We had our anniversary dinner at Savio Volpe! I’ve wanted to try this place for a while as I’ve heard great things! We were not disappointed! Great atmosphere, cool decor, excellent service, good wine list and the food was outstanding! Can’t wait to come back to try more items on the menu!
This is our favourite neighbourhood restaurant. You have to book well in advance but it is worth the wait. I made a reservation recently and mentioned it was my birthday. The staff gave us a great table for the occasion and graciously accommodated our daughter when our babysitter bailed at the last minute. Last time we went we loved the chicken liver and the Papalini.
Incredible food as always, if you don't do the alla famillia menu, you are sorrly missing out. Insane amount of delicious food for the price. Truly moving.
Was a great meal. Pasta is incredible and everything we had was excellent!
Always terrific Italian food! You can't go wrong with their cosy comfort food. The Soave wine we chose was perfect for the meal too.
Their food is phenomenal and the service quite good. Though everything was delicious our highlights were the kale salad and the agnolotti - unbelievable.
We have learned from mistakes in the past that Savio Volpe is best enjoyed with a small party - I will only dine here as a table of two. The share plate system is not great for more people, too difficult to coordinate and divvy up as the portions are very small. Not a great value regardless but for a special occasion worth the trip.
First visit here (and won’t be my last!) We ordered a ton of food (racked up a $500 bill between 5 of us) - the pastas were all super fresh, flavourful and delicious. I’d recommend ordering some sides too - specifically the potatoes, beans and kale salad. Our chicken was quite over cooked - but it was flavoured well - and everything else was delicious which more than compensated.
Overall, it failed to impress me to warrant all the accolades I read on the media reviews. Perhaps I was not able to select right kinds of dishes as I was not familiar enough with the menu items. Though I like good food, I am not a foodie with my lack of culinary knowledge. The zucchini salad was done simply and was very nice. The Cavatelli pasta was a bit on a salty side as it is sad that many restaurants seem to depend too much on salting for flavor, or maybe I'm just too old. Though I eat out a lot, the saltiness of food turns me off. The pasta was also a bit too 'al dente' for my taste. It is hard to nail down a reservation at this premise at a reasonable dinner time, but I was finally able to barely secure a 5 o'clock reservation on a Monday night. I wonder if the main chef was off? Garlic bread was delicious but I'd imagine that if I put all that butter on my bread at home, it would taste good too, I suppose. I should have known that the Suckling pig, the main dish, was on a heavy side because I cannot ingest too much fat, though I really like pork fat. The Marinated Eggplant seemed to lack the flavor of eggplant itself and did not look too appetizing with the monotonous brown/purple color. The service staff were but all very cordial, knowledgeable and patient enough to explain the dishes for us, who are not too familiar with Italian cuisine.
The food was fabulous each dish brought out was done perfectly. The place is a bit noisey but the food and service easily made up for it.
Great food, nice ambience, large portions but pricey. My 5 yr old daughter and I shared bread, an appetizer, a pasta dish and had a drink each and our bill was over $100.00.
It's a VERY NOISY environment. Conversation bounces off the industrial space and is NOT absorbed. So everyone talks louder to be heard over the din -- even across a very small table. After your meal, you are equally hoarse as if you screamed all the way through a Canuck' s game! A lively, energetic dining environment is good; conversation-squelching clamour, not so much!
Nice place. Very busy. Noisy. Had to book quite far in advance. Food was very good.
My friend s birthday was great
Food and service were excellent ; great waiter who explained all menu items
Our second visit was as great as our first. Wonderful food, outstanding personal service: Professional yet casual. Lovely atmosphere and great vibe.
We will return soon
We did the set menu. Incredible food with generous portions. The booth was a little squishy for 6 people, but everything else made up for it.
Was surprised that our reservation was at the counter and not at a table :-). I should have read my confirmation more closely. It was very enjoyable sitting at the counter and learning about the food from the staff behind the counter. Service was a 10! The portions are great for sharing, but their recommendations were a bit much as we shared 5 plates, where 4 would have been more than enough. My favourites were the Kale salad and Gnocci.
I will definitely dine there again....
