Sorry I didn't get the server's name. He was outstanding. I wanted the sauce from one menu item placed on the food from another. No problem. It was one of the few places I've seen that served large shrimp with the tails off, without my even having remembered to ask.

We had another good experience at Out of the Blue. We always like the Side Car cocktail and the puttanesca. This time we also tried a smoked salmon appetizer special (very good), and the sole with risotto that I had not tried before (also very good).

Well greeted by the hostess. Started with oysters on the half shell nothing fancy but they were delicious. Our server was friendly and when I asked about the haddock stew he informed me, to my delight, although it’s not on the menu they always have it as well a cioppino (decisions decisions 🙂). My husband selected l believe it was a special, monkfish, scallops and shrimp served over fusilli and had the haddock stew. The dishes were well prepared, seasoned well, and served pipping hot.

Food was delicious, came out quickly, served hot and was abundant, Cannot say enough good things about service or the menu. It has always been very good food, reasonably priced. For a great meal, try them, it is a gem in the city and will have you returning for dinner often.

The food at Out of the Blue was excellent. What is also wonderful is that they are very accommodating in making any changes in the food that you might request. It’s a family owned restaurant and they make you feel like family when you are there.

I booked here because my husband and I wanted to try something different in Davis. The website does say they are an old school Italian seafood place and that seems to be true. The food was ok and my husband’s drink was also fine. The service was impeccable and everyone was very friendly. It’s just not my kind of food.

The meal was absolutely overpriced, but it was decent once received. I enjoyed my food, personally. I would, however, stick to the simpler things on the menu (From the fryer and things) as I had a bite of my friend's risotto and it was pretty bland. Overall, a decent experience that was overpriced.
