Diners' Choice Winners: Best Overall
Oxford's best restaurants based upon thousands of OpenTable diner reviews
I enjoyed the dining at The Baskerville on the whole and had a good evening. I did mark one star down due to the fact that I ordered steak and a peppercorn sauce came out with it. I asked the server what it was as I didn't order it. He went back and asked the chef and was told yes it was peppercorn steak he thought you might like it. I thought aw how nice. However I was quite surprised to see it on the bill!! I also ordered the 3 cheese board for dessert but the Mature Cheddar was extremely hard and I asked the server if it was supposed to be like that as it was more like a rock. He went off and asked the chef and came back and said yes it was supposed to be like that. I answered that it was awful. I would have thought I would have been offered another choice of cheese but I wasn't. However, on the whole the food was very delicious and we enjoyed the evening. The starter could have been more generous though! MoreOpenTable Diner -
