My wife and I have gone to Pasta Cucina a number of times, and have always had a great experience. In fact, Pasta Cucina was one of our date night restaurants. Again, “was” being the operative word. This time was so bad we’ll never go back. They clearly changed the menu, and removed Cacio e Pepe, which is crazy considering the ingredients are pasta, cheese, black pepper, and pasta water. They also no longer offer angel hair pasta. But more on that later. We ordered the Fried Mozzarella as the appetizer. Normally, it comes in small triangles, with plenty of marinara, seasoned and baked to a nice golden brown. Now, with the menu change, it’s a brick of mozzarella (about 4x4, and about an inch and a half thick), covered in a quarter inch thick panko breading, completely unseasoned. And they set it on top of the sauce, causing the bottom to get soggy. We had to ask for extra marinara, which tasted like Ragu from the jar. We didn’t finish it, but we tried. Next, were the entrées. My wife ordered Chicken Parm, and I ordered Chicken Alfredo with lots of black pepper (trying to get close to Cacio e Pepe). The food came out fairly quickly, but when we started eating, that’s where things soon went down the drain. My fettuccine was soft and mushy, the chicken was completely dried out, and not only was there no extra black pepper, there was no seasoning whatsoever. My wife’s food: her spaghetti was also over cooked and mushy. And the breading on the chicken was soft and not crunchy. And the chicken itself was also mushy. Ew. We were done at that point, and asked to speak with a manager. She came over and we told her our complaints. She proceeded to tell us that they no longer use box pasta, they now use premade pasta, and if the kitchen cooks it too much, it’ll get mushy. Way to throw your staff under the bus, but I digress. So, the pasta is essentially reheated after being precooked at some point earlier. (Which is why no angel hair pasta) We’re not going back.

Meals were so, so. We eat here often, and place not packed, so not sure what cooks were doing. Took almost 40 minutes from order to serve main dish. Clams cold in one dish. Salad mix looked a week over use by date. Overall a poor meal.

Everything was wonderful, food , service, ambiance, staff. Only thing ,and I hate to even mention it ,but if helps them to try to not have it repeat was that my plate of food arrived with a long black hair on the left side of my plate. The hair was making contact with the food. I immediately removed it and didn’t make an issue about it. Consequently it didn’t do much for my appetite but I didn’t it want to affect my dining guests or cause embarrassment for the management. After all we’re only human and sometimes no matter how careful we are things like that can happen.

2nd time there since the remodel. We r usually 2 times a month. But between the menu changes- and the bright supermarket lighting now It leaves slot to be desired. Why would an Italian restaurant take off signature Dishes from the menu? Sorry. Well try it again in a couple months. Hoping that It returns to better menu and a more Romantic atmosphere.

We had a wonderful meal at Pasta Cucina. We had a party of 4. I had lasagna, my husband has linguini with clams, our guests had spaghetti with meat sauce and chicken Alfredo. Everything tasted great . The linguini had a flavorful broth. The chopped salad was fresh. I will say we were surprised with the fried mozzarella being 1 big piece instead of sticks. It was a little difficult to share with the group. Our server Tim was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.
