Our expectation for a great meal was once again matched. Gulf Oysters Brochette, Potatoes Au Gratin, and Ribeye were spot on. Good cocktails and great service by Maci topped off a good evening.

As always, our dining experience at Pat Gallagher’s 527 was excellent. The service was very attentive, and the food was delicious. We were seated next to a large table, so the surrounding noise level was fairly loud. That was the only issue in an otherwise outstanding evening.

We have eaten here twice, both times seated next to the bathrooms at the entrance. If I'm spend hundreds of dollars, I do not want to be seated looking at the bathrooms. Additionally, these seats in the front have heavy traffic with customers in and out of the bathrooms as well as restaurant staff going in and out of the kitchen. I expect to be seated in the dining room. I will not be returning.

Service and ambience are always excellent. However, we noted (and it's not just at 527 or any Gallagher's location) that restaurants are inundating their, otherwise great steaks, with way too much black pepper on it. I am not shy about some spice, but it was almost inedible for me. I will ask for NO pepper to be put on anything I get at 527 (and, just about every other restaurant in town - Copeland's killed their jambalya pasta with black pepper).

Typically overly priced restaurant fare. Lots of salt & butter. My filet was unedible as oversalted & seasoned. I had a similar experience with a steakhouse in Baton Rouge where it seemed they wanted to see how much salt they could put on a filet. Prices what they are these days, I think it's best I tell the waiter how I want my steak cooked. The freshly defrosted key lime was excellent. The coffee was weak & flavorless. Nada Mas.

Joe, our server, was proficient regarding the menu and food. He was attentive without “smothering” us. The food was excellent!!! Pat G’s turtle soup is the best in the metro-New Orleans area, in my opinion. The black and blue salad and glazed pork chop were both superb entrees. The white chocolate bread pudding is a fabulous treat. I don’t believe I’ve ever had anything from Pat Gallagher that I didn’t enjoy, and this experience was no exception. “I’ll be back……”.

Food was good, but didn’t blow me away like other area restaurants have recently. Seemed to wait a while to put in our order and had to ask more than once for a beverage that was ordered. Interior furnishings and decor felt dated. For the price of the food the portions were appropriate and even generous for sides. Tried multiple items and nothing was bad. My wife was seated under a vent and wished she had dressed more warmly.

My son and I always enjoy our experience at 527. The cosmos were excellent and the food we prepared to perfection. The only negative was that it took so long for the alcoholic beverage to be served. I was almost finished my meal before I got my cosmo.
