An amazing experience. The staf are so nice and friendly and where always around to help and take care of you.
The food was lovley as well and the portions was over generous.
I'd defo revisit.
We went early on the 3rd Jan - it was pretty quiet. The food was good and the service excellent. I'm sure on another day it wold have been busier and noisier.
Great staff and great vibe - we were incredibly well looked after on new years eve and nothing was too much trouble for the staff - great food and awesome wine list - top night ..... thanks!
Great time catching up with family
great location, nice vibe, good food, also not too expensive as you would expect, it could be worse.
Do not recommend for Christmas lunch. Absolutely no effort from the restaurant team to make it special. No table linen, just like having a meal in a pub. Very disappointing. A restaurant needs a big make over. Dirty run down toilets, dirty walls. ... I would avoid any any cost.
Great Christmas dinner and absolutely amazing service. We had the sweetest waiter who couldn’t do enough for us. Great cocktails and tasty food. Ambience was lovely and buzzy without feeling overcrowded
Another landmark meal on Christmas eve at the chop house. The Chateaubriand was to die for!
Great food. Table service was OK. The woman on reception was frosty and needs some customer service training. She’s the welcome and first impression. She lets the rest of the experience down.
The welcome and the table and bar service was fantastic.
Nothing was too much trouble and the food was veru good indeed!
A 5 star experience!
It’s was alright, the food tasted nice and the service was great but everything was overpriced in my opinion.
Also, it was my partners birthday and they said they’d do a nice desert for him but they did nothing so really underwhelming there.
Wonderful food and service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Super nice location
Always a good option. Given its close to Xmas, noise levels were higher, things running at full speed. Food good and my friends steak looked perfect. Like the quality service and attention to detail here, Ill be going back.
As always great food in a busy restaurant. The food was excellent and the table service very well done and professional. The Red Leg partridge was superb
Amazing food. Attentive staff. A little hot in the restaurant, but this must be hard to help when busy
Fabulous place to dine for a special occasion.
Staff very tentative and professional.
Beautiful food.
First time visitors, however would happily return there again and again. Food was excellent and the customer service from start to finish was exceptional
Absolutely wonderful and delicious food. Could not fault the restaurant at all. Prices are reasonable, especially for the steak and the staff were friendly and polite
One of the best Roasts I have had in London....and I have had plenty. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming and we could enjoy a conversation without having to raise our voices over neighbouring tables which is great. The staff was also a step above the rest and there was not a moment that we were in want of anything. Highly Recommend!
We found the food to be delicious, however the service let the restaurant down. We had one course per person and drinks and the bill came to £128. The service did not reflect this price. Upon arrival, there was no one to take our coats (although we noticed other people’s coats had been taken) when we asked a waiter about the sharing cuts of meat it seemed a big hassle for him to explain them (and even then he didn’t really explain it just pointed to the blackboard, no mention as to whether the sharing meats come with sides etc), when the waitress came over to ask if we wanted wine we opened our mouths to ask about recommended wines but before we knew it she said ‘wine, no’ and took the menus! My partner was also without a drink for half an hour and in the end went up to the bar to ask for one. The restaurant was also cold as the door was constantly left open (my partner shut it twice but then got fed up of having to do so). It really is a shame as the food was incredible and the ambience is nice but ruined by poor service. At the price of the meals the staff should be much more attentive and welcoming. (Must mention, one waiter in a suit did come and sort our wine out and he was much more professional and what we expected of all the waiter/waitress’).
Had to wait 20 minutes for our table and had to constantly ask for missing drinks and order parts of our meal twice. Service was mediocre for such an establishment - I expect a bit better from D&D
Booked this restaurant for lunch business meeting. The pork chop is excellent and must order! However, the accompanying boiled spinach was lacklustre. Did not have a chance to try out the desserts but we finished with strong mint tea which was probably good for digestion after the huge pork chop.
Great food.
Only downside was a very poor virgin bloody mary , just tomato juice and lemon with nothing else.
They also add a £2 charity donation to your bill which you have to ask not to be applied. I’m happy to give to charity but on my terms without having to embarrassingly opt out in front of guests.
Comfortable restaurant, friendly staff, good service
Very good but a wee bit expensive for drinks food was great and services
Friendly attentive service. We visited on a Friday evening so very busy and buzzing. Food was good. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
Came here for my girlfriend’s birthday meal. The experience and service was excellent throughout the core of the meal. At the end, I was clarifying something with the waiter on the bill when the maitre d’ swooped in unannounced and presented a new bill having taken the service off of the bill and then walked off without explanation. He did this entirely without understanding of the discussion I was having with the waiter. This suggests that the service is usually so dire that they do this as a matter of course. I was mortally offended, and shocked by this as I had full intentions of tipping the excellent staff.
The roast was amazing and the bottomless red wine was a lovely touch with some great french red wine.
Very enjoyable evening. Food was extremely nice, served in a good structured time frame. Only issue I had is I felt the value of what we got, was disproportionate to the meal! However that shouldn’t take away the meal in itself as it was lovely! Would recommend and would go back, doo !
Multiple failures by front of house staff. Training required
Really good atmosphere, excellent food and great service so would definitely recommend
The food was delicious. Had a beautiful soup with camembert and ox cheek for main. Probably more of a summer restaurant as we were seated by the door and it was quite cold with people coming in and out.
Good quality Doubled lampchops, juicy and tender.
We asked where Fred was! (I’m sure this cannot be the first time this has happened!) we didn’t expect him to be there but being watchers of the first dates show, I guess we were a bit giddy. However, the server told us he wasn’t there and hadn’t been for over a year (we expected this so no great shakes) then he said by all accounts and to let you know he’s not a very nice man. Said he hadn’t worked there long but other staff had said what a nasty man he was.... regardless of if he is or isn’t and I get he has a tv image to uphold, I felt this was of very poor taste and quite frankly he should’ve kept his own thoughts to himself. Really unprofessional. The service in general was nothing outstanding for the prices they charge and whilst the food was nice and tasty; I have had better and with much better service. The fact that they then slapped an £26 ‘discretionary’ service charge on was a kick in the teeth really. In the end we asked them to remove it (something I have never done before) and decided on our own ‘tip’
I appreciate we are in a capital city and prices are higher and I have no problem with paying them, however the service especially leaves a lot to be desired.
Amazing experience!! Would love to go back and eat there every weekx
Nice atmosphere but felt the tables were a little too close to each other. Did wait a while for or drinks and had a little delay on a side but the waiter knocked some off our bill for the inconvenience. I had the double lamb chop which was very good. They came out with a candle and piece of cake as a happy birthday for my husband.
Would visit again.
Too bad we missed the roast. But the steak is awesome.
I am a big fan of this restaurant. Food is good and service is usually very good.
We went midweek and it was very busy and quite loud so not great for quiet conversation which was ok for us as it wasn't our 'first date'. Staff were very attentive especially our waitress, who was very friendly and informative. We did the set menu which wasn't particularly good value when the portions are small plus you need to order side dishes to make up the main course, however food was tasty and by having 3 courses was enough.
