We haven’t been to Patria for 5 or 6 years, but it was just as good as we remember. The service was great, and we loved everything we ordered. On top of that the staff made us some delicious mocktails, but the best part was definitely the chocolate and olive oil dessert!
They poorly respect the minimum distance between one table and another.
The shellfish on the paella was undercooked. They removed it and bought properly cooked replacements. The octopus appetizer was fantastic. The churro was good. The service was fantastic.
Our waiter was very nice and informative. He checked up on us frequently and the food came fast. The restaurant seemed to clean very well and seats were spaced apart. The Paella was delicious!
Great food (seafood paella was amazing!) - reasonable prices - great service.
Small plates, order lots to try, amazing flavors! Pallela is a must.
Food, service and atmosphere are great. On the pricey side.
Amazing food and service! Definitely would recommend.
Was originally seated in the entrance corridor patio but it was way too cold. Asked to be reseated under outdoor heaters and they obliged. Very appreciative of that. Food was superb. Service was great!
Overall an OK experience. The food was ok the best thing we had was the fried cheese stick with mushroom (apologize dont remember the name). Our server was amazing he knew everything inside out. The place is nice and quiet. The food is a little overpriced for the quality.
Very nice atmosphere. Staff as very friendly.I would go again for sure.
Amazing food and incredible wine list. Server was helpful and attentive. Great for an anniversary dinner
Very nice place and service! I suggest that they add tortilla to the menu and maybe huevos estrellados? I love those.
Finally made it to Patria AND I'm adding it to my #Top10 Vibes in Toronto list.
Your table will fill fast with all of the flavour options. There's something for everyone here from scallop topped paella to oxtail stuffed peppers. Put in your paella orders early and while you wait, you must indulge in the sangria, bacon wrapped manchego dates and the mushroom croquettes - it's a Spanish food fair you must experience!
Oh and save room for the Churros - the Dulce de Leche is the best ever!
Loved the ambience, great service and nice touch for remembering it was our anniversary. Food was okay, I thought paella needed a bit more flavour; churros were delicious, but found it a bit pricey overall. If you have the money to go, go for it! If on a budget, there are better choices
I absolutely loved the patria! Staff were very friendly and helpful in term of recommendations. The only thing that could be improved is the fact that we were sitting outside and it was cold, maybe some heaters or some blankets. Otherwise, I had a very pleasant experience, thank you!
Sat on the covered patio, very warm with the heat lamps. Exceptional food and service as usual! Can't wait to come back. Very good health measures in place as well. Highly recommend!
Food was often to cold, our table was wobbly and it took 10min to fix it, prior that what water spilt around but nobody bothered to wipe it, waiters was cold and stand off, tipping 10% minimum I ever did, nether the less was $17-18 she looked at the receipt and with very unhappy face put my copy on the table turned around and left not saying a single word. Anyway we’ve been multiple times at Patria it was always a 5 stars experience and we most likely will be back as we are sure service will improve. Didn’t help that it was my girlfriend BD and she set not the best mood. All the best to you guys
PS... and yeah she was super annoying with “how is your first(second, third....10th) bite, interfering in the middle of discussion with no hesitation
See you soon
The first server was very good. when he left, the next one was friendly, but he was not attentive and did not suggest items from the menu properly. The Manager approached us and was very attentive and concerned.
Overall was a very good experience.
Came across this place when I was once dining right across the street. My love for Spanish food made me visit this place. We visited Patria on a Saturday evening. Make sure you have a reservation. This place is pretty packed. We were catered to by a very courteous server by the name Katy. She made sure to explain to us the menu and also let us know about the items off the menu. The management made it sure to place the tables following the safe distancing protocols.
Moving to the food, we ordered 2 portions of Patatas Bravas, Albondigas, Paella Patria, Jamon con Serrano, Churros. We ordered Cava and Beer to go by. And not a bit surprising that the food was delicious. Mind you, this is more of a fine dining place, so the portion size is not humungous, although I would have liked the Paella portion to be a little larger for the price.
Excellent Service (Thanks Katy), nice ambience (it's a lot better inside), brilliant food. A place that you have to visit.
We will be back
Delicious! Pulpo is awesome and service was great.
A great experience at your restaurant this late Saturday. The meatballs were delicious, as the octopus and the amazing paella Patria: so full of rich flavors. We enjoyed our night and your welcoming staff :) Thanks!
We missed out on a trip to Spain this summer as a result of the pandemic. For my husband's birthday, my daughters and I wanted to treat him to paella to get a little taste of what we missed out on. After reading many reviews, this was the place and we were excited to give it a try!
I made reservations 9 days in advance after seeing photos of their patio. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at Patria and noticed a Cafe TO patio in the middle of King St. I wasn't overly worried as my reservations were made 9 days in advance so surely there would be little chance we would have to eat on the street. After all, there was zero mention of a Cafe TO patio for this place on the restaurant's website. Sure enough, that's exactly where they seated us. We asked if we could move inside even though we are aware that there are limited tables overall, no luck.
So we ate a very tasty meal while the King streetcar whizzed by us every 2 minutes.
Service wasn't overly impressive - the "ambiance" of being in the middle of the street translated directly to the level of service.
At the end of our meal my husband and I ordered a second alcoholic beverage each. Imagine our surprise when rather than new drinks, what arrived was a new server! While surprised that we had not even been informed there was going to be shift change, our new server was awesome.
By the way, those drinks? They never did arrive. I guess our first server didn't put our order in. We didn't even bother to mention it to our new server. We stayed for dessert because I promised my girls they could order churros.
Too bad, I was hoping this would become a regular place for us as the food was really good.
Amazing food and service
Food and wine were excellent. The staff were professional and kept to all Covid regulations. Tables were well spread out. All in all a great time!
Put it thy is way, the food was so good that we are going back 2 days later. Highly recommended!!!
I went there last week with a friend for dinner on the patio. I had been to Patria since before March so I was really looking forward to it. The patio is much larger than expected. It wraps from the side of the restaurant to the street which was great. The patio on the side of the restaurant is covered and, even better, when it started to rain, they let down an awning to protect their guests from the rain. We ordered the empanadas, croquetas de jamón, meatballs, halibut and Paella de Vieira. All dishes were great. The croquetas de jamón were excellent.
The one problem I had was the staff did not enforce the mandatory mask policy. When I was going to the washroom, I saw a guest walking from the washroom on the second floor, down the stairs to the patio with no mask while talking on the phone. There was also a second guest who was walking around inside without a mask. I have no issue with no masks outside, but in the restaurant is a different story.
Service started great but fell off after a few dishes. Seems some of the order got missed. Too bad it took 30mins to tell us this. They comped late dishes and gave us glasses of Cava to make up.
Everything we ate was delicious! I highly recommend. Can't wait to go back already.
A truly lovely evening and dining experience. Great food, great ambiance, great drinks, great service. We can’t wait to come back (like always).
Had a great dinner with a friend, the service was terrible. The waiter was very rude and dismissive. We asked him a question and he seemed annoyed and rudely left. Other than that, great food (we got the large patria paella but the portion of rice isn’t that large, it’s a very thin layer spread around the casserole. It was tasty though. We enjoyed the sangria jug, it was very good (the rose one).
First, this was during Covid and I am not sure how long Patria has been reopened for, however compared to my previous visits there, it was lacking. Only part of their menu is being offered (which I understand during Covid!) but that wasn't advertised on their website and I love their "canapes" menu. The food was average but expensive for what we got. Again, when I have been before it was amazing. We also saw a cook with his mask under his chin instead of on his face, there was no social distancing in the line to get in, although they were cleaning all the tables and had sanitizer. All in all, go and support them, but if it isn't a great experience show grace, wait a month, and go back in a month or two when things may be running a bit smoother.
Amazing food and excellent service! We had a lovely time. The atmosphere on the patio was great.. I’ll be back again soon.
Food was amazing! Try the dates.
the servers are really nice, but overall I don't recommend going on a daily basis, like a random dating choice would be good, will NOT come back again.
The food took so long, like we have waited for 30 minutes until the little dished come up, octopus, meatballs and the potatoes, which are nothing to my belly because I was starving.
The Paella Patria was said to take around 45 minutes and it actually took us more than 1hour and 20 minutes to wait for it... was not that fishy and salty as described online, but average taste, nothing was out of expectation...
Food choice is very limited, for me and my boyfriend's taste(typical Asian tongue...)
Expensive, like 8 small pieces of octopus costs us $21... insane
This is a good place to try out Spanish food. Good Service.
Very nice place, food was good but not for the value, overpriced. Also would be really good if they played more spanish music
Amazing food. Hands down, one of the best restaurant in Toronto. Must try their steak
Food was amazing, service was great, and the space is beautiful. Will be going back!
The service was excellent, the food very good. Patria assembles the elements for a good date with good conversation in our COVID days.
