Had a great experience! Food was great and the bartender was there when we had questions. Will come back!
The food and service were excellent Happy to recommend this restaurant
Was a great place
It was a little bright, no one was there but the food And service was outstanding.
My chicken dish was good but my husbands steak was way too rare for his liking. He should have sent it back. He liked his onion soup but I didn’t.
There’s no place to be in Wednesday’s except at the Peasant Cookery. I tired the calamari for the first time and it was delicious. Tried 2 cheeses chef selection. And of course the oysters. It’s the kind of place right now, in this mixed up crazy world, that makes you feel at home.
I went for Wednesday dollar oysters with a friend. The service and food was lovely. Oysters with the onion sauce was on point. I had the rabbit linguine which was so delicious my eyes rolled to the back of my head. Oh I’ll be back...
Always an amazing dining experience with delicious foods.
I LOVE this restaurant! I ate here last time in town and had these amazing ribs and a butternut squash soup which was likely one of the best meals I’ve had. This time, I had the beef carpaccio and it was amazing!! They change their menu regularly so it’s always a pleasant surprise when I come back. Extra bonus is that their Old Fashioned is perfect!
Good food, good service. The restaurant was cool and a bit uncomfortable. The table set up along the long window side was awkward, and felt a bit too close tot the adjacent table of folks.
The menu was great for lunch with many hard to choose options. The food was really good. And the building is really beautiful. Service was also really good.
Enjoyed the food and service. Ambiance was ok. Alittle cold in the restaurant. We didn’t take our jackets off.
Tip would have been more if the service was better. Waited a while when requested a napkin that was needed immediately. Server forgot that we had asked for sauce so we had to ask again. Took a while to get our drink order as well.
As always, the food, service and ambiance of Peasant Cookery is top notch.
My daughter and I had lunch here on Wednesday. I really appreciated the masked greeting at the entrance, the quick health check and the run-down of all the covid rules. I felt very safe with all the plexiglass shields up between tables, but the shields didn't ruin the overall decor. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Love buck a shuck Wednesday ! We’ve been coming back for over 9 years and we still enjoy it every time :)
Cheers
Arrived at 7pm, on a Tuesday. Quiet in restaurant with only a few tables occupied. Serving staff were very friendly and prompt. Ordered chicken livers, Apple salad, Arctic Char, Duck with a lovely bottle of work they had on special for half price. Dessert was Creme Carmel and. Baklava.
Enjoyed it all and will definitely return!
Amazing unique food! It was hard to decide which dish to choose. I love it here!
Our server Kelly was wonderful, very knowledgeable and friendly! We loved the $5 small plate menu.
The food was really really delicious!!
Will definitely be coming back again!
Peasant Cookery is one of my favourite places in Winnipeg. They have done an amazing job with having a welcoming restaurant while following all COVID health protocols and social distancing guidelines. We were so happy with our experience.
The menu on your app was nothing like the actual menu at the restaurant. Very disappointed in that. Server was excellent, food was high quality. Menu needs to be updated
Attended Peasant Cookery to celebrate our 29th Wedding Anniversary. Tables were well spaced and protective barriers were in place. We had a couple of cocktails and then shared an order of oysters... really good and fresh! My wife chose the Artic Char which she really enjoyed and I had the Tourtiere which for me had too many "baking spices" in the flavour profile. Overall a very nice experience and I would definitely return.
Given the difficulties of Covid-19 they did a good job making us feel welcome. Food was delicious, especially the Tourtiere. Our pickerel was very tasty but slightly dry but the lentil dish it was served on was amazing. Overall a great anniversary dinner. We'll come again, hopefully in more "normal" times.
Somehow This time we did not like the food. Food was not spicy enough rather a bit bland
In went for a romantic dinner with my partner. Host and server helped to create a nice sophisticated ambiance. We got the tourtiere and bone-in pork chop. Portions were perfect to fill you up without overstuffing. We got cheese for dessert as well. We'll keep coming back to try out more dishes!
Enjoyed an evening with old friends. Good food and warm staff.
The food was excellent and the service was even better. It is the perfect place to eat, drink and be merry.
Had the popcorn lamb to start. It was melt in your mouth great. Arctic char was delicious. Chicken linguini also just as good. Location and atmosphere are perfect for a great night out. Can't wait to get back and try more of the menu.
The Pickerel BLT was just amazing. My hubby had the BC mussels and they were fantastic too! Service was great and the server was so friendly. Very enjoyable. We will definitely go back!
Great food and service- COVID-careful. Mouth is watering thinking about the fresh oysters ...
Great job on providing a feeling of safety in these Covid dining times.
The charcuterie tray was fabulous as was the service. Unfortunately, our mains were bland and overcooked. Very disappointing. We had the pickerel and the roast chicken with pasta. Both had no flavour and required loads of both salt and pepper to be palatable. Sadly, the baklava was hard as a rock. There was no flaky, sweet, honey flavour. We couldn't even chip off a bit along one edge. After a bite each we abandoned it. We've eaten here before and loved it, so we were stunned. The server was fantastic and saved the evening for us.
Lovely atmosphere , fun, chic, comfortable . Amazing food, wine list, very attentive staff and great mixologist . We couldn’t have ask for any more. Architecture in the missing old building along with good food great wine list was top notch
The Peasant Cookery never disappoints. Even in the time of Covid, the service was good, the food fantastic, and the atmosphere welcoming. I even got to try their contribution to burger week.
We went out for birthday supper and were disappointed with the experience. Service of appetizers & food took a long time. Found bones in the Smoked Rabbit Pappardelle Pasta which was, not only a choking hazard but a turn-off from enjoying the rest of the meal (received a discount for this). Tourtiere was good but a bit too much of all-spice/cloves. Burger was good. Beet salad was ok - chicken added on tasted weird. Drinks are super expensive ($12 each).
Loved oyster night! Food was great! An enjoyable dining experience.
Always wanted to eat dine here, finally it happened on oyster night!!
Carapacio and oysters were amazing. Cocktails were awesome too
Very well portioned. Sat outside and it was quite nice. Prompt service and friendly. Would def go on Wednesday for buck a shuck (oysters) or Thursday half priced charcuterie.
we like this restaurant. sat on patio this time. good quality food and appreciated having all staff wear masks. wait staff friendly just a bit inexperienced.
