   Day 12 of my pre birthday celebrations and in pursuit of discovering the new (possible) home city’s food. Today has been the best meal we’ve had so far. This restaurant is in the historic Exchange District of YWG and housed in one of the many turn-of-the-century beautifully preserved masonry structures in one of Canada’s designated historic sites. The mode was casual and the ambiance had this quirky old world charm. Service was outstanding! 10/10! We ordered: Starters: *CHICKEN LIVERS. $19 Pan-fried with brandy peppercorn sauce, baguette toast. I hate liver but I loved the rich flavours of the sauce. WOWZA and YUMZA! The president said the livers had this amazing flavour profile and had beautiful texture. He finished the entire dish. 10/10! * PORK DRY RIBS. $16 Baby back ribs braised then fried until crisp, with chili and lime. The ribs was soft but not fall-off-the-bone so they were just perfect. The caramelized crust added more flavours and texture to these delectable bites. WOWZA and YUMZA! 10/10! Mains: *HOUSE SAUSAGE MEATBALL PAPPARDELLE. $28 Smoked tomato and pepper cream sauce, garlic, onions, arugula and chêvre cheese. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was a real winner. The meatballs were just ok. 8/10! *PORK CHOP. $36 Roasted root vegetables, green beans, pickled apples and grainy mustard jus. The chop was pure perfection. So tender, juicy and just packed with incredible flavours. The mustard jus elevated the sensational texture and flavours to another level. WOWZA and YUMZA 20/10!!! 🔥😍😋😱💕 A remarkable culinary experience for sure.

   Lovely evening food is good and extensive wine list Smaller menu which is fine but look before by you go so you know what is available. Pate was amazing and Hunter’s chicken was delicious. Great place to go. This was Thursday May 10 and great. It was unfortunate they lost our reservation the week before though as we were so looking forward to it on Wednesday May 3.

    The food was delicious as usual. The server was off the mark on several counts - rushed us to order just because he wanted to get the menus off the table, commented in on our conversation, not as attentive as he could have been with plates and cutlery, etc.

    We arrived early and were greeted and seated immediately. We had asked for a quieter corner due to my wife’s hearing impairment and they accommodated us nicely. The ambience was relaxed and the decor was bang-on for what you expect in the Exchange District. The service was timely, attentive, and pleasant. We enjoyed a cocktail - the Smoking Jacket - wow! - 1$ oysters, focaccia bread, shrimp penne and the chef’s special bison and beef shepherd’s pie. A delicious piece of chocolate ganache pie put an exclamation point on the evening. We found the price quite reasonable for the quality of the meal and the pleasure of a highly enjoyable Wednesday evening out.

    We went for Wednesday buck a shuck oyster. Our server was friendly and very attentive. Food is served fresh and hot from appetizers to dessert. Dined here several times and I can say outstanding service has been consistent. Easy 5 stars right there.

    What a great experience! I ordered a GF meal and it hen the server brought out the bread basket for my date, she included some rice crackers for me so I didn’t feel left out. Meal was excellent and the pace of dining was perfect.

    Food was amazing, love the atmosphere. I’ve been here once before with my parents and sister, and we dined for about two hours if not longer and the service was absolutely wonderful. This time, the service was good and the host and our server were very nice. The issue is, we felt rushed. My cousin and I love to just sit and dine and enjoy the company and the meal. But the food came out really quick as soon as we ordered, and gave us the sense that they wanted us out of there as soon as possible. The feel of being rushed was disappointing, to say the least.
