We have chosen the tasting menu 4 courses, it was suggested that the chef will give his best. We had ricotta and peach , gaspacho, duck confit and cheese. However when you look at the menu those options where the less creative . It was good but not really special.
Reasonable price for an outstanding meal. The setting is spectacular as well.
Food was delicious, our server was delightful, scenery beautiful, wine a little expensive but great day.
Great food! More importantly, the service was great! You never know how servers will treat a family with two teenagers as part of a dinning party of four. In our experience, when attending higher end restaurants, servers sometimes stereotype teens in that they often think they will not eat, obviously not drink, or kill the mood for the other patrons (thus affecting their gratuities). Natasha our server treated us and them with great kindness. She went above and beyond making sure our family was well taken throughout the duration of our six course tasting and wine pairing menu. Also, she was observant enough to see that I was a light weight in regards to the consumption of wine and kindly gave a portion of the last few rounds/ offerings to my spouse who did not order the wine tasting component. The food was excellent. I was hesitant to come to Peller Estates after reading reviews on other sites, but I can wholeheartedly attest to the great food and service we received on August 11, 2018. We will come again when in the region.
Tasting menu with wine pairings was exceptional. Tastings were delightfully edgey and creative. All wine pairings worked perfectly.
If you want the tourist version of a vineyard experience peller is ok. Its close to town, a known brand....you can go through the motions...tasting, tour, and dinner. The tasting was rushed, server was rough....maybe had a bad day. Dinner was ok. Lots of "Show" but quite bland and small servings....very limited menu...in fact they put the "chef" 5 course meal in front of you at the start, 95 buck a person. You have to ask for alacarte. I had the pork tenderloin. 2 pcs about an inch thick. Tasted ok. Nothing fancy. Great atmosphere, lovely spot...why would they need to make great food?
We come here every year for lunch. It’s a beautiful winery with very knowledgeable wait staff in the winery and restaurant. The food is delightful and they pair their fabulous wine perfectly with their meals.
Have had many dinners Peller Estates Winery Restaurant over the past 20-30 years, this time was good but not great. Not very busy, but they seated us near the kitchen, so there was noise from that. There were a few flies buzzing about, which bothered our guests a bit. The food was good, presentation OK, the servers had the descriptions pretty well memorized but were not highly knowledgeable as in past years.
Our visit was very nice and the service was impeccable. The food was very good and nicely presented.I would definitely suggest this winery for dinner.
Peller Estates Winery Restaurants has pluses and minuses. The dining room is beautiful and the service is good. The wine is excellent. The appetizers and main courses were expensive and small. My lamb had no crust which I like. The vegetables consisted of a few underdone string beans, a few pieces of underdone squash and no starch. The dessert was the best course.
Our annual outing with a couple from East Aurora, NY. It gets better each year. Thank you, Peller Estates.
The food is unusual, prepared iunusual combinations, and is unusually enjoyable.
I have been taking my two nieces out for a special lunch in August and while in the process of choosing this year's location I happened to see CityLine with Jason and his buddies which reminded me of Peller Estates (my husband and I had dined there before) . It was a first for my guests. As one said "she was hooked when the sparkling wine arrived!" and the OOH's continued with each arrival up to and including the spectacular desserts. Not only was our server Julie excellent and charming, someone arranged for Jason to come to our table to greet the birthday lady, and to listen to my tale of how we chose to be at Peller for this year's special treat. A wonderful choice for our treat well fulfilled.
Enjoyed the food and wine paring. Great service and ambiance!
Peller Estates Winery Restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. We were blown away by the unusually delicious and artfully designed food, exceptional service, and comfortable quiet atmosphere. I would recommend Peller Estates Winery Restaurant without a doubt.
I am not sure what has happened to this restaurant, use to be one of our favorites. The menu has been so reduced that if you are with a group, someone is definitely going to have a problem. There were only 3 appetizers and 4 entrees, that was the entire menu. Creativity is gone. Really hate to say it, but it was kind of like cruise ship main dining room food. No soups or salads of any type to be found. Always use to showcase the local items. We usually order a few different items and like to share. Seems like they are just pushing everyone to the wine pairing dinner option if you want variety. The chef was one of my favorites. Dining room was fairly empty, establishment should take note, your customers are seeing the change. Hope the decide to offer variety so we can see all of the chefs talents once again, we will be watching for it.
Excellent food and experience. They offered a surprise five course menu, but were very accommodating to the special needs of my wife. They adjusted on the fly very creatively and effectively. Chef had an excellent feel for the use of salt. Wine pairings were at the least very interesting and in some cases very enhancing. Flavors were overall excellent. This was the longest and most expensive meal I have ever had. But the experience was well worth it!
My husband and I have been going to Peller Estates Restaurant for many years, it is one of our favourite restaurants in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Jason Parsons and his team do an amazing job with the menu. Although, this last visit there, we took friends for their anniversary and the one thing that was extremely annoying were the number of flies all over our food. This took away a lot of the enjoyment. We understand having the patio open involves everyone going in and out but at the expense of guests who have been looking forward to a special dinner, just doesn’t make sense. The service staff kept apologizing for the situation without our complaint. Possibly using one door at either end of the restaurant may help resolve this issue in the future. Thank you
great service and very attentive staff. There was an event the night prior so the view could be better, instead we watched people disassemble a tent, in addition there were 2 flies that must of come in from outside that drove us crazy but there was nothing much that could be done about it I assume. We had a toddler with us and it was great that they had a high chair, he eats well so he was able to share our meal with us but generally there are not alot of menu options well priced for a child.
The wait for the main course was long but they did punctuate the wait time with appetizer tasters from the chef. I had a amazing lobster linguine which was the chef special, other family members had the lamb which was extremely small with little else on the plate.
Overall it was a good experience but not somewhere i would necessarily visit again as the cost does not match the experience food wise.
Excellent place, with great menu items and wine pairing suggestions.
We have been to your dining room before, it is lovely. We were a little early on a Wednesday so the hostess was not at the desk. Eventually a host came to take us to our table and he seemed less than excited to see us. We were sitting at a window which was lovely.
Our waiter was efficient and the bus girls were sweet. I have managed restaurants for many years and would suggest that bored staff are not presenting the best face for you. Our wait staff did a good job with the exception of continuing to pour our wine, so I got up and poured my mother-in-law her wine as the bucket was about 5 feet away. These are all small things by comparison with the ambience and the food. However, your prices suggest that attention to detail is part of the package.
We loved the way you've arranged the menu and it's creativity and taste did not disappoint. The desserts were tasty too! All in all a good experience with a fine team in the kitchen and a good place to celebrate our anniversary and a Christmas gift to my mother-in-law.
We celebrate here at least once a year for special occasions. Always have great service and knowledgeable staff. The food is unbelievable and like no other.
Pairing course highly recommended, as the chef selection of wines marry incredibly well with the various course items
This was my first visit to Peller for lunch. I took a good friend for a special birthday. We chose the four-course tasters with our personal choice of wine. The server surprised us right away with complimentary glasses of champagne to toast the occasion. What a wonderful way to make my friend feel special! Each course was delicious and our wine was wonderful. The servers were very friendly and professional, describing each course and ensuring our needs were met. The setting is Niagara on the Lake, so of course we knew it would be a lovely setting. Enjoying a lovely lunch in the sunshine, looking out on the vineyards, made this a memorable day!
Nancy was friendly, knowledgeable and awesome!!
We came to celebrate our anniversary and had a fabulous time! We took advantage of the wine tour prior to dinner, Sal, our tour guide was amazing and I would come back for another tour with him. I tried dishes I would never order while dining out. Surprisingly it was an remarkable experience filled with explosive flavors that tantalize my tastebuds and kept me smiling waiting for the next surprise. It was a remarkable experience accompanied with great service.
I had never eaten many of the dishes that the chef prepared for us. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. Dining at this lovely restaurant was a delightful experience! We found the staff to be very attentive and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Peller Estates Winery Restaurant if you visit Niagara on the Lake.
Fantastic location. Server was so nice. Food fantastic apart from the dessert which was disappointing.
We have eaten here many times. Each time is a culinary experience! Five courses each one a surprise, best two and a half hour dinning experience each time!
Wonderful wonderful dinner. We did the tasting menu, which was delicious. Service attentive and lovely. can’t rave enough about the food!!! Made a special occasion even more lovely.
Our server Ashley recommended the blind tasting menu which we both decided to do and it was stellar. The wine pairings were also excellent. I could not have asked for a better experience.
One male waiter was very rude to a bus boy in the dinning room, looked very in professional
We enjoyed the food, which was very good. The experience was disappointing. It was a beautiful dining room, though we had expected the patio to be open on a July evening when there was no rain - and that was a disappointment, as the person being celebrated would have preferred being outdoors in that gorgeous setting next to the vineyards. We made an online reservation referencing a special occasion (through Open Table) but there was no acknowledgement of the occasion at the restaurant. The menu was very limited, which we had not anticipated. All 4 of us were forced to agree on the same menu; that is a modus operandi for this establishment. We chose the standard menu and found the food of good quality and tasty. The service, on the other hand, was lacklustre. The young lady who served our cheese course confidently pronounced that our brie was a "blue cheese", even when we questioned that it didn't look like a blue cheese - she was obviously just learning the ropes. The menu was served "family style" which means that they squeeze overly large serving plates into the middle of a small table. There was so little room for the serving plates that they had to remove the (lovely) flowers and water. Each large serving plate contained 4 servings, so it would have been a reasonable alternative to plate and deliver the servings individually. To top it off, they did not provide us with utensils to transfer our servings from the central plate to our individual plates. We had to use our own knives and forks. Fine for a family restaurant, but not for an upper crust winery. Dessert was also a disappointment. Tiny jars of (tasty) creme - but our spoons were too wide to fit in the jars so we awkwardly scooped the contents out with forks. Nice presentation... but a fail given that we couldn't eat it properly. What were they thinking?
We had a lovely experience celebrating our 1st anniversary at Peller. Our server Christine was excellent with accommodating my husbands dietary preferences and she ensured we had a memorable experience. The Cuvée she introduced us to, was perfect (we purchased it to commemorate our milestone). Highly recommend!
Fantastic blind-menu experience. Late night 7-course with wine pairing made a memorable evening and a culinary adventure. Thank you PE.
Food was not tasty and over priced
Disappointing at best. The host would not give us a table outside, which we would have preferred, when we arrived, and wouldn't even see if anyone might be leaving in the near future, which we would have waited for. The table we got had a poor view of the outside area so we asked to be changed to the table next to us. We were told it was reserved and unavailable. The table was empty for the entire time we were there.
We were told the dinner would take around two hours. I wound up taking three. Way too long for a five source dinner experience. The actual dishes that were served had EXTREMELY small portions. We wound up eating two bread baskets. The entree consisted of two small pieces of veal tenderloin, which was very good, but not the portion size I would expect for an entree.
The servers were not as attentive as I would expect. Once the dish was served, no one came back to check on us.
Overall, this five course meal is WAY OVERPRICED. I would not recommend this experience. Save your money for a more satisfying meal.
The meal was superb. The pasta was the best we have ever had. The pairings worked so well with the meals and the servers were great.
Outstanding creative dishes, great wine pairing, wonderful service!
We booked lunch and sat outside on a beautiful day. The setting is spectacular. We have been here before and will definitely return. We selected the chef special pasta and lobster dish and the salmon- both entrees were excellent. The wine pairing was perfect.
