Make no mistake, this is a nice restaurant with delicious food. Steaks are wet aged, so flavor is really good. Portions are generous. Side dishes are well prepared. Live music enhances dining in this restaurant. It's a nice and attractive room with a noise level that permits conversation.

The evening we dined there the service was friendly, but not as attentive as I expected given the price points of the menu items. My steak, ordered medium rare, was cooked properly but was only warm when it was served. I also was very disappointed in the presentation of my meal once plated. The steak was plopped onto the plate with a dollop of grilled onions next to it with no other attempt to make the presentation attractive or pleasing to the eye. It looked like the meat slid around on the plate while it was being taken to our table from the kitchen. Again, not the presentation I expected at this price point that evening.

Dessert was delicious. Again, everything that was ordered for our meal was delicious.

We were pleasantly surprised! Immediately upon our entrance we were greeted with the most friendly of hosts! We also were seated in a very comfortable booth in perfect proximity to the live music, it was not too loud and not too soft:) perfect ambience. Service was top notch and the food was delicious. We split the lobster stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. French onion soup was as classic as I remember it, the steaks were cooked to perfection and the drinks were great! highly recommend for great steaks and live jazz.

They were incredibly nice and patient with my dad as we were really late for our reservation. It wasn't a busy night so they had flexibility but it was still welcome to see. Food and service always great.

The food is excellent but the best part is that Petra van Nuiss was singing jazz standards while we had dinner. A world class jazz singer and no cover to hear her perform. And she has a personal touch, taking requests!! Absolutely remarkable.

A bit pricey but very good food and great atmosphere. The live entertainment was not so loud that we could not enjoy lively conversation. Wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Everyone had an enjoyable evening.

The Delmonico Ribeye was everything I expected it to be! Cooked to perfection! Delicious and Tender! Didn't like the Tomato Feta Dip though.

Service could not be better!! Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The great service made it a special night out. I thought the steak was underseasoned, but everything else was good. We really recommend Pete Miller's.

We went to Pete Miller's to celebrate our anniversary.
Being from out of town, we figured we'd have a "fancier" dinner for our last meal in Evanston - what a disappointment.

The live music was great and quite frankly the better part of the entire experience.

The service was just okay.
We were taken to our table immediately. In the beginning our waiter was very rushed and kept coming to our table for our order. We were there to have a good, relaxed night - not be rushed. Once we had our food, our waiter took the backseat and barely came back to the table. It took a while for him to come check on us which was frustrating since there were issues with our meal.

The food was horrible.
My boyfriend got the special 3-course meal.
For $45 it included lobster bisque, a 4oz filet and 6oz lobster tail with broccoli and mashed potatoes, and marscarpone cheesecake (all of which I tasted). The bisque was forgettable with maybe one piece of lobster in the entire cup. The lobster tail was simply steamed with no seasoning. A side of melted butter was provided but even that lacked garlic and salt. The steak was unimpressive - we've had better steak at chain restaurants and coffeehouses. There was NO seasoning. The broccoli was steamed, again no seasoning. The mashed potatoes were the best feature of the main course. It was flavored with butter and garlic. The cheesecake was also good but we've had better. The meal was vastly underwhelming for $45.
I originally ordered the pan-seared scallops with parmesan risotto. The risotto was a joke, and Pete Miller's should be ashamed to have it on the menu. What was served was buttered white rice - NOT parmesan risotto. When the waiter finally checked on us, I questioned if the risotto was always like what I received, because if so I wanted to order something else. The manager was sent over, and he informed us that that is how their risotto always is, and that he understands (as a fellow risotto lover) that it's not really risotto and nee

The food was fabulous, as always, and our server Mike was great.

My only problem: the room is too small to have a band like the one you had last Saturday. The sound level is way too loud and detracts from the fine dining ambience/experience. Perhaps have the band start later when most diners have finished.

Amazing music. A lot of dining options--you don't have to spend an arm and a leg, although it's easy to. (And when you do, good quality. We ordered trout and sea bass the other night, and both were wonderful.) Very professional service; attentive and friendly.

Went to Pete Miller’s for my daughter’s birthday. We each had something different for an entree and all of them were excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special night out.

I have been to Pete Miller's before, it is one of my partner and I special place to dine . But being on the weekend of Valentine's Day it was extra crowded. The food was Great, as always. but the service was not acceptable. I had to ask the waiter 3 times for a straw , he was not attentive to our table as others, I also had to ask for the deserts that came with our entrée and he only bought one . We both were disappointed with the service being it was a birthday celebration. I chalked it up as a bad experience. The other times we went the service was on point for a fine dining Restaurant.

This is our new home for steak! We were a few minutes late and still were seated immediately. I had the Shanghai Calamari and it was absolutely delicious. My husband had French Onion Gratin soup that he loved. I had the 18 oz Petes Cut Bone-In Ribeye that was not only cooked to perfection but was extremely flavorful. My husband had the New Zealand Lamb Chops, also cooked to perfection with a special request to make them spicy. The chef didn't let us down. We were away from the stage which was our preference, but we could still hear the live jazz band and each other. Our server, Mike, was phenomenal! My husband asked, "What types of beer do you have?" and Mike responded, "What beer would you like?" My husband was truly impressed with his confidence and even more impressed that they had the beer he prefers. Great food,the host at the door was pleasant, the music was nice and our server was most certainly the best we've ever had and we've eaten at various places all over the city and have never walked out without at least one complaint. Pete Miller's Steak and Seafood changed that. We will be back! As far as pricing, well worth it! I've spent almost the same on my dinner alone at a high end steak place in the loop and the calamari, steak and service were blah to say the least. I can cook our food exactly how we like it but it's nice to go out and let someone else do the "work" especially when it's such a wonderful experience from beginning to end.

Our entire night was incredible except for our service. He was dry, grouchy, and clearly did not want to be there. This was our second time being there and if it was our first experience we wouldn’t return. Our server dropped our check WHILE we had a half bottle of wine and still eating our dessert... rude. He circled our table numerous times waiting for us to pay it was uncomfortable. However the live music and the food was amazing. We will be back but will request to not have the server we did.

We went for Valentine’s Day. Food was ok but not as good as we remembered. Also certain items were not available due to special evening. I had a vegetarian ravioli and was concerned cream sauce might be too heavy. They were accommodating and put it on the side. $21 for a few ravioli with sauce on side seems expensive. Enjoyed live music but ended around 9:00.

Our food was over an hour late after we ordered it. They have gave us somebody's else food first. Our waiter was bad but very apologetic. A guy named Cory came to table and tried to fix everything. He was a good guy, but it was to late. Service was horrible food was mediocre at best. Horrible experience. I live in Evanston and wanted to support a local business on Valentine's day. I was very disappointed.

Went there for Valentine’s Day and had the three course pre fixe menu! Delicious—particularly the chocolate dessert! Wait staff timed courses perfectly, and the jazz trio was a lovely addition. Their choice of songs and volume was perfect for Valentine’s Day!

I love jazz music. We've been to Pete Miller's many times. Lately, it's been a tradition to go every Valentine's Day with our family. It has a cozy atmosphere. I love the music. This year the music was disappointing on Valentine's Day. The female singer was horrible and you could barely hear what she was saying when she was talking into the microphone. I was disappointed that Pete Miller's had this group sing on Valentine's Day, when normally they have a wonderful group of other bands, but other than that I do feel it's a nice place to go on special occasions . I wish they bring the mini crab legs as an appetizers. They were always a hit.

We had an early seating on Valentine's Day and chose the prix fixe menu. The bread was fresh out of the oven, the wine was just right, the bisque delicious. Then we waited for our entrees ... about ten minutes. When they arrived, the broccoli had noticeably cooled. The lobster tail was sweet, the melted butter hot, the filet nicely done, and the garlic potatoes well mashed. Then we waited for dessert ... about ten minutes. Both the desserts were delicious. Not sure why the delays in being served, since the restaurant was not packed and we were there in the first half hour, but that's not the normal service at this restaurant. BTW, we didn't have to wait for the bill (LOL). A great place to go for good food and live music.

They kept us waiting for at least 15 mins after our reservation time to seat us.
Our server was great but.....the food delivery crew was less so. They came out and slapped my plate down, then my wife’s, and were gone before we could blink an eye. My steak was luke warm and my broccoli was borderline cold. My wife’s shrimp dejohnge (sp?) was also on the cold side. She ordered a side of mashed potatoes that never came. She sent her shrimp back as it was not what she was expecting......and we ordered a filet. Still no potatoes. We ended up asking to take the filet to go.....finally the potatoes came in the to-go bag. The asst manager apologized and gave us a coupon to try to make up for the disaster of a dinner. That was nice, but the kitchen has some issues to work out. Not impressed, though the place was pretty full and seemed lively.
