Seriously the best steak I ever had. Food and drinks were outstanding. The service was good and the waitress was friendly. The live music was entertaining and added to the total experience.
Tried to make it a special dining experience but was let down my as far as the meal goes....excellent shrimp appetizer but unfortunately down hill from there... was happy to pay $18 for a sandwich but there was sooo much grizzle on the ribeye steak sandwich it was hardly chewable. My son had ribeye and again happy to pay $48 for a steak but not for one I could have easily purchased at and inexpensive (cheap) diner.... very disappointed.. our server was pleasant and we made the best of the evening being thankful that we (my family)were together. Wife ordered the Poke and boy you guys really have to learn how to make & present one of those👎👎... Daughters ravioli so-So. Overall a “swing and a miss” I’ve come to expect more from Pete Millers and this was truly disappointing.
Why would I go to a steakhouse for Choice steaks when I could sousvide a NY strip from Whole Foods at home?
my favorite place for a well made burger
great cocktails, beer and wine
what is not to love plus live music
We went on Monday night so the noise level was moderate. They hav Jazz every night and the weekends can get noisy. If you want quality aged Steaks and not pay Downtown prices this is the place. They also have many Fish options and a extensive Bourbon and Scotch selection.
Have been a few times before and had a better experience. Went for Mother’s Day and sat in the back by the exit. The trip to the buffet was difficult with all of tables and chairs and people constantly on the go. When the staff opened the exit door and left it open it was very chilly for a family with small children. The staff was friendly and attentive. The non seafood items on the buffet were mediocre at best.
We traveled to Evanston,IL for a non-profit event and needed a place to eat dinner afterwards. We had a party of 6, our table was ready upon arrival, our food was served quickly and the staff was very attentive to our wants and needs. The live jazz was one of our favorite parts, we sadly didn’t get the band or singers name but they where truly amazing. We all ordered the surf and turf special, that is a true deal for the amount of food that you receive and the steaks where cooked just right (cut like butter) so delicious! We loved this place and when we return to Chicago we will definitely return.
Very overpriced place, the food is average quality.
Ignored and forgotten, food was poor we have had better steaks at Outback
We love the food at Pete Miller's and are regular diners. We have continued to celebrate special occasions there, but have had a couple of bad experiences. One time we requested a booth and are aware of the possibility of one not being available. I called right before we left home and was assured a booth was waiting for us for our celebration. Upon arriving no booth was available and we had to wait 75 minutes to be seated at a booth. They said someone didn't know about our request and gave the booth away. This time we asked 3 different people if our children had gifted us wine as they normally do on our anniversary. We were told no by each employee even though my husband pressed the point. When we got home we found out that our kids had sent us champagne and treats, but their request was never posted correctly. When I called to discuss with the manager he seemed bothered by my call since he had spoken to my daughter and didn't seem sorry or concerned this had happened. So while we enjoy the food, I doubt we will return for any special occasions which is unfortunate.
Good afternoon SSS, thank you so much for being a long time supporter of our restaurant. As you can imagine I'm mortified to hear about this situation and have every intention of making this right for you and your family. I will reach out this afternoon to sort everything out. Warmest regards, -Cory
Enjoyed a Saturday evening dinner with music. Great energy. Service was not compromised by a busy dinner time. We were able to have a conversation with shouting. Food was very good and drink selection was very good. We do plan on returning.
Three words: overcooked lobster tail. This place is too expensive for such a rookie mistake.
Great food, music and service with nice environment in Evanston!
Always a great time and love the food, service and live entertainment.
Delicious hamburger from the bar bites menu and half price. Good music, too.
Always a great time. Local favorite, live music, great staff and good food.
Thanks for the praise Tish! We look forward to having you back! -Cory
I highly recommend Pete Millers in Evanston. It's an all around great place. Food, music, drinks, ambiance, and service. You will not be disappointed. shout out to a few that stand out, Rob, Alex, TJ, & most importantly Corey.
You are too kind Rene! Thank you for your glowing words and your continued support of our restaurant. We hope Alexandria had a fantastic birthday dinner and can't wait to have you back! All the best, -Cory
We have wanted to try Pete Miller’s for a long time. Our evening started out with a booth change due to someone else previously reserving it. The manager moved us to another booth and was very accommodating. We were treated very well. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic! The filet with the horseradish crust was so juicy and tender. We will definitely dine here again and again!
Hi Lsbg! Thank you for your kind words and for being so understanding about the booth situation- some of our long time guests are very particular about their tables and you guys were so cool about it! We look forward to seeing you again soon. Cheers! -Cory
The food was delicious. The scallops and New York strip steak were excellent. The dinner salad was very good. And the desserts were outstanding - we really enjoyed the cheesecake and the death by chocolate cake. The service was excellent too. The only problem with dinner were minor - the asparagus was cold and probably needed to be cooked a couple more minutes. And we ordered 2 raspberry margaritas and they were just plain margaritas - maybe the waiter didn’t hear my mom order these drinks. This was not a big issue. Overall, our dinner excellent was outstanding - good company, good food and an enjoyable experience together. Thanks
Everything was perfection. We sat in the bar and each one of the bartenders took time to make sure that I looked like a superstar entertaining clients. My drinks were so delicious that I forgot that I was an old lady with a two drink minimum, everything was perfectly timed and the music was amazing. Thanks all!
The atmosphere was great with nice music. They kindly let us share the steak, risotto, and salad, all of which tasted good. The price was very reasonable given the quality of the food and atmosphere.
We had a delicious dinner. The ribeye (ordered medium rare) was a bit overcooked, but flavorful. The filet (ordered medium) was at the right temperature and tender. All of our sides were delicious, as was the flourless chocolate mousse cake--just right for two.
Great dinner! Great service! NY Strip was fantastic ;)
So good we went 2 nights in our short visit. One night for a meal then the next night for post concert dessert. Loved being able to see and hear live jazz both nights with excellent food and drink. Wonderful being able to chose to sit near the music.
Food was very good. Plenty of seafood and steak choices to suit most palettes, with an excellent bar menu to complement the food. There was a jazz duo performing standards which added to the relaxed atmosphere. The service was lacking in some respects probably because it was a slow night and staffing was minimal. Overall I give Pete Miller's four out of five stars.
Fantastic service and food. Live jazz was wonderful and not too loud.
Going out to dinner with family all out of towners wanted place near our hotel, food was very tasty, drinks were good music was added treat not too loud & requested song for my kids anniversary which she said was part of her next set! All good
Pete Miller's will now be back in our rotation! Two out of the three of us ordered fish, and the preparation was excellent - light but flavorful, perfectly cooked. Not the heavy, buttery preparation I seem to remember from years past. The service was also excellent. If you haven't been to Pete Miller's in a while, give it a try.
Overall we loved our dining experience. The live music was great and added a lot to the ambiance of the restaurant. The food was delicious and well prepared. The only negative was the service. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable but there were issues with the service on a couple of points. First, both the bottle of wine we ordered for the table and the after dinner port that one guest ordered was not available. Second, the time between when they cleared the dinner plates and offered the dessert menu was so long we almost gave up and just asked for the check. Then, one of the desserts we chose was not available!! I will give Pete Miller's another chance and just chalk up the service issues to a bad night.
Celebrating my husband’s book submission to publisher. In general, service and food was very good.
We ordered the daily Special, surf and turf. It was excellent although for the quantity slightly overpriced.
The service was great; our waitress Yvette was fantastic. The food was delicious, though my wife's baked potato was hard and had a few black spots on it. We enjoyed the live jazz, though it did make conversation little difficult.
Great as always. I love to dine at Pete Miller’s for their classic ambiance and excellent food. They also have a great wine list.
We have been coming to Pete Miller's in Evanston for many years. We return for the fun atmosphere, live music, great food and service. This past Saturday we were celebrating a special occasion with friends which was ruined by the waitstaff. The atmosphere and music were great. The service however was atrocious. The server was rude, unprofessional and lacked any graciousness. He did not introduce himself, put fingers in the plate while serving, and delayed the main course significantly and served it cold. We also had to refill our own water glasses. After being ignored by the waiter for over 30 minutes, I finally went to get the picture of water for myself and our party. The waiter appeared and actually smirked at this, no apology given. The valet guy was much more professional. It's sad to see an otherwise great restaurant being undermined by incompetent and uncaring waiters.
Pete Miller's is both a fine-dining restaurant experience and a first rate jazz club. Every night of the week, talented local bands set up shop in the roomy corner stage area. A wood-panelled bar dominates the center of the room, leaving ample space for waiters and patrons to walk around it and get to various comfortably-situated tables and nooks. And the steaks and fresh seafood are superb, just like the music! A very classy establishment.
Steaks which is their signature item had no flavor. Appetizers were very good
We complained and they gave us complimentary desserts. good service but disappointing steaks
Excellent service, very nice restaurant. Old feel but updated things if that makes sense. The food was very good and a local place if you don’t want to go downtown for good food
We’ve been going for years but this was our best experience! Food was incredible and the band on Mondays is phenomenal!
Love the food and the ambiance is always fun when live music is going on. However, this visit the server was less attentive and he had told us that a dessert would be complimentary (it was a birthday celebration) but we were charged for it.
We love to go to Pete's , but with a special diet what you get can be iffy!
