Pre-theatre and after work specials are available daily. Petterino's location is ideal for business lunches as well as a break from shopping or touring in the nearby State Street and Millennium Park venues. Pre-theatre diners have the option of leaving their car with Petterino's while they attend the show and can then pick it up after the performance is completed.
Great theatre dinner! Hostess and bar service were so-so but our waitress was fantastic. Food and drinks were very good, would come back
We enjoyed our dinner at Peterino's.. the food and service were very good! The menu had something for everyone and it was a good value for the money. Location to theater district was perfect.
This is one of our favorite pre-theater spots (and given the often difficult times which are unavailable for reservations) it is also the favorite of a horde of people. We arrived early because the traffic worked well, and the hostess invited us to sit at the bar and said we'd be seated as soon as a table opened (which was much quicker than we expected). The food was excellent as usual, and the offering of a prix fixe menu was a very attractive option. Service at the table was well-paced and our waitress was most alert and cooperative. My wife opted for the calamari salad, a favorite dish of hers, and I took took the entrée portion of the short rib dish. We fully enjoyed the meal (including a split of the key lime pie to close. When available, this is a perfect choice for pre-theater.
We went for brunch and it was amazing. The staff was outstanding and the food was wonderful. All of us commented on how good the food was as we were eating.
I will definitely come back!!
We loved our experience and will definitely return...we had the whitefish and chicken Parmesan..both excellent...bread was to die for and our service was perfect...I only wish we had more time but we were going to the Lyric so we're on a schedule....
Overall the restaurant experience was worth the first time experience. The staff was attentive to our special dietary requirements. The set price 3 course menu was a clear favourite with quality choices to enjoy during the dining time. The extra side dishes were a little pricey. We recommend the serving staff not to be hurried in presenting food items. A few more seconds of allowing clear communication between customers and serving staff would avoid mistakes in presenting and adding ingredients to the food. We will return to the restaurant soon for another fine dining experience. Thank you.
We had a large group of eleven
Felt VERY rushed. Main course was brought out at almost the same time as the appetizers. When the waiter realized the mistake he took them back to the kitchen. Whe he brought the main course back, it was obvious that it had sat under a heat lamp.
Food was very good. Service was prompt. Noise level was extremely high. we couldn't wait to finish our meal to leave. Went to another restaurant to have our dessert!
We had a great meal post and pre theater since we had a 2 show day in the City. Petterino's helped make it a great deal. Meal was exceptional and our server was great. Many thanks.
What a fun place! It was packed at lunchtime so a bit noisy, but everything else was delightful. Impeccable service and delicious food.
Petterino's is always good. It is like the old fashioned Chicago restaurants with really good food and fast service. We had a very good meal -- not outstanding but very good.
Do this. Best thing to do on a Monday night in Chicago.
We were very happy that we sat along the wall in a booth. It was much easier to hear each other. The corned beef was great. We will have to remember to come back again next year on St Patrick's Day weekend.
Going to see a play.
We had Sunday brunch and it was wonderful. Our servers were excellent
Comfortable, quiet place for a nice dinner downtown.
Our food and service was excellent. I can’t say the same for the overall waiters and waitresses, who never smiled, had an attitude like they really didn’t like their job. You really need to have weekly staff meetings with workers.
Fabulous attentive yet relaxed service. A fun evening. We will be back.
The food is always good. The service was slow. It took 20 minutes to get our bill. As busy as they are, you would think they would want to turn the tables over faster.
Our server was not friendly or helpful. We asked if they had certain drinks and she looked at us like we were stupid. Then as we were leaving after our meal a couple of tables had the drinks we had asked about. Over all I will not be eating at this establishment ever again. Sorry, I like good service and will pay about any price for it.
This return visit was disappointing - Salmon was undercooked and chicken was cold.
10 STARS ALL THE WAY. FABULOUS FOOD, exceptional
Service. Perfect night out.
Perfect for pre theatre meal.
Perfect as always and o would definitely recommend.
Had an employee talking loudly nonstop at the next table for half our meal, packed in like sardines, had salad dressing spilled on my bag and spraying my shirt and pants, chicken Parma was dry and tough, server mishandled our bill. Worst restaurant experience we’ve had in years.
Petterino's is one of our go to spots in the city but this time the dining room was so hot we just sweat the whole time we ate dinner. Can you open a door, a window, just get some air flow?
This was a celebration of my husband and my birthday in combination to seeing musical, A Bronx Tale.
Our Meal was excellent. It was served steaming hot and was very favorable. Our waiter John was excellent. Attentive, concerned if we enjoyed our meal selections.
We eat here often. Service was slow that night and the room was smoking hot. We saw other guests fanning themselves.
Food excellent as always.
Tall strawberry cake was dry and tasteless. 3 of us shared it, we each only took one bite. Two little strawberries.
We will be back and hope for a better experience.
We try to dine at Petterino's any time we visit Chicago, even if it's only a layover as it was this time. We have never been disappointed with the food or service, both consistently excellent. And the celebrity caricature sketches lining the walls are so fun. This time for our lunch we had the seafood gumbo, almond encrusted whitefish, teryaki glazed salmon and strawberry sorbet. The food was delicious and our waiter Daniel was friendly and helpful. We couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you!
This was a fantastic experience. Was able to be seated and order a drink, despite my cousin being 40 min. late for our reservation..and not feel pressured to order anything out of the gate. The Filet was incredible and cooked medium rare, as requested. Friendly server. Great ambiance. I will return!
My best friend and I came before the Mariah concert
She ordered a hamburger and she told server,
She wanted the burger well done. The server was great.
When the burger came to our table it was medium rare
And that was unacceptable for My friend.
He was a turn off for her to see red in the meat.
I would not suggest a 7pm reservation on Sunday evening. We felt pushed to get out as fast as possible so employees could leave. Not our normal exceptional experience.
Always our go to restaurant. Love Petterino's in the theatre district.
Our favorite restaurant!
Staff always accommodates customer requests. Our server, Daniel, was outstanding. Personable, professional and attentive.
Our server was great as was the food...once we got it. We waited almost an hour to get our food. They did give us a nice discount because we had to wait so long.
Great before-theatre dinner. The food is delicious and service is great.
Always attentive and always delicious and with an eye on the clock so that you can make your curtain to all the nearby theatre, these guys do it right every time.
Need more protein/low carb options- like fish without sauce (all your entrées were pre-marinated with mayonnaise or pre-breaded). Folks are more diet conscious these days. You need at least one option. The chicken was a good option :)
