I made the reservation indicating hat it was my mom’s birthday dinner. I asked for a table with a view and I did get that. Although the food was very good, we were served dinner before the plates and cutlery were even brought to us. We actually had to ask twice for cutlery and plates. We had 3 different servers coming by our table which confused us a bit. We never felt that we had a go to person when needed something, like a water refill. The servers seemed inexperienced but overall polite. Also the fact that it was my mom’s birthday was never acknowledged when I was expecting that it should have been.
The picture perfect place to entertain out-of-town visitors on a clear summer evening, giving them the best that the west coast offers: delectable dining, spectacular views, cordial service, relaxed & informal ambiance.
Happy hour on the patio is fabulous! Service not so great- had to ask several times for various items that should be standard
Great lunch with fabulous view. Good value with lunch menu but $18 for 1 glass of wine is a bit pricy. Food was super- salmon burger fo &12 is a deal!
We made a reservation at Pier 7 to celebrate a birthday. We requested to sit outside which we were. Upon our arrival there was another party of about 15 people who were very loud and inconsiderate. It was difficult to carry a conversation with the people at our table because of how loud and obnoxious the other party was. There were only two servers working the entire outdoor seating area upstairs. Our server was very polite and tried her best to take care of us. The food took over an hour as well. Overall, we were disappointed and will not return. We were hoping for a better experience as we were celebrating a special birthday occasion.
Server was very nice though it took a bit long to get our food. Appreciated the dessert on the House for my birthday. Food was very good.
One of my favourite new places on the North Shore. Have been there about 4 times.
Their happy hour snacks are super cheap. It's nice to stop in for a drink and a snack in the afternoon, overlooking the ocean and downtown! My service was a bit slow at the beginning, but picked up eventually.
We had the boil which was delicious. Great view and good appie hour
Always great food and excellent service. One of our favorites in Lower Lonsdale. Best view ever. Best Happy Hour around.
Sitting in the patio enjoying the view was and is the way to go!
Although the food was great the service was terrible. We waited for 30 mins trying to get the attention of a server before we got up and walked up to one of them so we could order more drinks. Then at the end of the night we ordered coffee and were given cold coffee.
Two thumbs down for service.
Nice view. Staff was nice. They did not offer a kids menu. Didn't even realize there was one till one of our tables requested one (half of our big group of 29 were kids). So not bad for kids but the kids were not that interested in the menu. Watch out though, larger groups are charged a 20% service charge which is becoming standard now in some restaurants but is higher than most. When booking online there is an option for outdoor seating and is confirmed in an email but when you get there the staff will not guarantee a patio seat. The patio is the main attraction for this restaurant. Overall the experience was ok, food was actually good but unoriginal, prices on the higher end but not outrageous, view the best. Most people say this is great to try once to experience it but there are many great food options in vancouver. Better for tourists or out-of-town guests. 3-1/2 stars only.
Excellent food, excellent scenery and excellent hospitality.
Bland food, boring menu, really noisy, distracted servers. Not the best experience. The location is nice though - beautiful view from the patio.
The food and service was very good however I came here with a special request, the request was to store a vase of flowers and a cake over night for a special dining table setup the next day. The special flowers had been destroyed unfortunately but this didn't go ignored. They had sent out an employee last minute to run to the florist and grab some flowers based off the color scheme of my own. They accommodated the loss very well and professionally. Despite this mishap id still love to go back because accidents happen and i understand that :)
Excellent dinner and amazing views.
I never fail to have a good time at PIER 7. The food and service are always top notch. Whether you choose to be seated inside or out on the patio, you're treated to a great view of the city. The prices are fairly reasonable for what you get. This time around I chose the Soy Maple Sablefish...delicious!!
Sad that the servers were untrained. The wait time for food was an hour and the restaurant was only half full. The Calamari was too tough to eat.
I don't recommend this restaurant for important ocassions such as Father's Day. There was lack of coordination in serving tables and kitchen was very slow. We went there for brunch on Father's Day and waited for over an hour, without any explanation or apology, to receive food at our table. The steak was dry and cold and the hashbrown was totally missing from my plate.
Too many service errors this evening.
Adequate at best......too expensive for what you get
Best patio on the north shore! Pricey for passable food.
We enjoyed our brunch very much. Mostly due to the ambience. The food wasn’t particularly anything special. The eggs benny were very poorly presented on the plate. The Cobb salad quite expensive for a lot of lettuce.
welcomed and seated quickly; service attentive but not overbearing; questions re menu items explained clearly
Hosted a birthday dinner for my friend, it was very nice and the staff were amazing. She also got a dessert on the house and happy hour prices were very affordable and worth the food. Big portions too, we were surprised when the appertizers were brought to us and we thought it was an entree. The only thing is they forgot one part of our order, but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall an amazing experience and I am definitely returning.
Great view, below average food and beverages, orders 4 main course the only one that was good was the sable fish. The halibut was dry, the fish and chip, below standard. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a great meal.
We made a reservation and requested a table by the window because it was a special occasion. Unfortunately, the hostess did not seem to know about our request and there were no tables by the window. I had booked on open table.
The calamari and crab cakes were delicious starters as were our Caesars. The fish and chips was greasy, fries were cold and the batter was not evenly cooked. The scallops and prawns were very good.
Overall, we have enjoyed the food at this restaurant, it is a bit pricey, but the view is lovely - if you get a seat by the window.
Poor service. Had a reservation but still waited to be seated. Asked for a table with a great view but server insisted us to be seated in a table inside with no view at all. Waited for almost an hour for food while the other tables that arrived after us were served right away.
Servers were wearing extremely short uniforms which does not fit the classy ambiance of the restaurant.
Food was "ok" for the price.
The view was great. The server was attentive. However, we were not provided with wet towels or finger bowl to clean our fingers after eating shell fish!
The best of the night was the truffle fries. The ribs had no taste and the salmon was raw.
The service was good.
Good location. Server was new and not very attentive
Burger not very good plus I sat in far corner and my chair leg got stuck in a loose drain hole and I toppled out of chair and hit pkexi glass window. Had it been single panes I woukd have literally fallen to rocks and ocean below! Waitress was not concerned and said it happens and she woukd tell maintenance again! Please let GM this needs to be fixed. Had I been old I woukd have surely been injured!!!
I was very disturbed to discover from my male dining companion that this restaurant has sillouettes of naked women etched above the men's urinal. We mentioned this to two servers, both female, who were quite surprised to learn this. My friend took pictures to show us the disturbing images. The four people at our table, three of whom were women, all agreed that this kind of decor was completely inconsistent with the more refined, upscale atmosphere of the restaurant. I do hope these offensive images are removed. Since I had recommended the restaurant as a place to gather that night it really dampened my overall experience.
Well located and friendly staff . The view is wonderful especially at night . I would teccomend Pier 7 for a good night out
Painfully slow service on a Friday evening. Why can't they schedule additional servers when they know it will be a busy night? Can't beat the view. We had specified in our reservation that we wanted a table on the patio (it was our friend's 50th birthday) but when we arrived, we were told that they don't assign patio tables, it was first come first served. Why ask us for that information if you don't do anything about it? Very frustrating.
We had an excellent server who was gracious and helpful. The food was delicious and the view is always spectacular. Love this place for brunch and dinner.
The reason why I couldn't rank your service higher is because of the following: I am not happy to receive the bill and not having asked for it. I find this very disturbing but I guess this is the way here in North America and I need to get used to it. Personally I find this impolite and you definitely stopped me from ordering another drink or maybe two which actually could have resulted in a bigger bill and tip. I recommend to rethink your service strategy. Thank you for considering!
A nice waterfront restaurant in North Vancouver with great views of the Vancouver skyline. We sat right on the water. There are various fish dishes as well as Strack's and Salat. Highly recommended are the oysters directly from the area as well as the crab cakes. The service was very friendly and accommodating.
I think the servers shouldn't get rid of the table before that everyone has finished. Otherwise, they do their job wel and the restaurant is really good.
We enjoyed our meal and the experience! We’ve been to Pier 7 about 6 times in the last few months and always been pleased!!
