While we were here for the Summer Feast YYC event, I definitely want to go again to try more of their dishes. I liked that everything was served home style and all of the dishes were well seasoned and balanced. The server was very courteous and knowledgeable absout both the food and wine list. We were there during a busy time but had no troubles maintaining our conversation. A very friendly, laid-back atmosphere there.

Truly a brilliant spot. Food is refined yet accessible. There wasn’t a misstep in the 9 dishes we had. Hopefully you’ll be lucky enough to have Sarah take care of you. Couldn’t have left a meal more content.

While the portions were smaller (scallops) than expected and for the price, the food is delicious and service was excellent. The dishes aren't a complete meal so we spent more than intended to flesh out the menu. Alittle too close table-to-table for intimate conversation. Quite loud but overall very enjoyable.

Fantastic dinner. Inventive and well-balanced dishes. Loved the 72 hour pork belly, the cod and the shish chicken with hummus. The peas with burrata and toast and seasonal veggies with goat butter were awesome too. Friendly uninvasive service. It was a loud spot, but we really enjoyed the meal.

Heard about the reviews and menu, so we made a reservation. Nice atmosphere with all of the staff helping to serve the dishes, so the focus on food is unmistakable. Nice to hear about the building and vision of the chef. We tried two dishes each for a group of three. We had a nice mix of dishes: the charred cabbage was outstanding, wagyu beef tartar, scallops, charcoal chicken shish and grilled shishito peppers were tasty and unique. The portions were smaller, but we were satisfied after these items. We had two items for dessert and a nice bottle of red wine, so the evening was very enjoyable.
Would recommend it if you want to splurge!

Ben behind the bar was very knowledgeable and he created some of the cocktails! His suggestions were bang on!! Matt the manager took time to greet us with complimentary bubbles!! He helped us plan the rest of our night and we would recommend pigeonhole! A quick chat with Matt really makes the experience unique cause he catered to our evening at the restaurant and had many suggestions afterwards!!

The food at Pigeon Hole is the best in the city. The service is attentive and helpful but not overbearing. I would go back here every Saturday night if I could.

Decent food, unfortunately didn’t have the greatest service and the food came out awfully slow (perhaps they were understaffed that night). Cabbage and Tartare dish was our fave.

Thoughtfully imaginative food options, a decent variety of drink, beer, and wine options, as well as a good value food and beverage happy hour. Sure, it’s not inexpensive, but you more than get what you pay for here. We’ll be back.

We've been to Pigeonhole many times before, and it NEVER disappoints. They revamp their menu all the time, so there are always new dishes to try, their staff are AMAZING - friendly, personable, attentive and VERY knowledgeable about both their food and wine menus - and it is just a wonderfully fun, classy/casual place.

LOVE this restaurant.

First visit on expense account was great. Second visit on one’s own tab really turned us off. 18 $ for one appetizer with razor thin portions of tuna. Waiter wrote it off - so he was a good guy but still! Left starving.

Visiting Calgary and went out to Pigeon hole for a great meal.

Loved the ambiance on the patio, the beautiful china serving plates, and how the food was thoughtfully served and paired based on what we ordered. Lovely experience. Can dress casual or smart formal.

Pigeonhole comes highly recommended by food critics as one of the top 30 restaurants in Calgary.
We are a group of 5 and our reserved table was right in front of the open kitchen. Thankfully our conversation was not drowned out by chefs behind us shouting out orders. Our server Mitchell was attentive, kept the water coming, and answered all our questions about menu items.
The extensive wine menu did not disappoint. Mitchell allowed us to taste a wine before committing to a full $15 glass. The meat and potatoe lovers in our group could not find a snack to their liking. We did not ask what the market price was for the Angus beef rib steak preferring to stick to the pork ribs, pasta, and bone marrow. The latter is definitely is an acquired taste. I guess meat Jell-O is the best way to describe it and it wasn't to my liking. There was lots of toasted sourdough bread to use as "vessels" for all the vegetable dishes but no rice or potatoes. Our favourite dish was the colourful cherry tomato salad. The ricotta was refreshing and Ioveage gave a unique taste to the dish.
Overall Pigeonhole was not to the liking of this group of 40-something women. Snacking was very pricey and not filling.

Our second time at Pigeonhole was equally as positive as our first. Reminds us of the best of Napa. Casually sophisticated. Welcoming feel with first rate and helpful service, great cocktails, tasty and inventive shared plates at very reasonable prices for this level of dining. Chef Justin Leboe and team really do a great job in all areas. Our current yyc fave.

My wife has a gluten allergy. Sarah our waitress recommended some great dishes to accommodate my wife allergy. The service Sarah and the rest of the Pigeon Hole staff provided was exceptional!

This is an upscale small plates restaurant that is very popular in Calgary. Each dish is presented beautifully and is very tasty With unusual combinations.

Service and food were excellent, our server Jess recommended most of our meal and it was well presented and delicious. The noise level made it hard to converse and music level was too loud to be comfortable, the music choice was eclectic but fun , just too loud to hold conversations.

Excellent experience overall. The only thing was we needed to move from outside to inside. We started out on the patio because it was such a warm sunny day. We quickly noticed that the outdoor seating area was tiny and cramped. The decor and ambiance did not match the inside of the restaurant. It was also very dusty and with every gust of wind we got a face full of dust and the plates and menus were covered in dust. My friend found a caterpillar on her dress 😂
Anyways, we moved inside (which our server was very gracious about) and everything was great from then on!
