Drinks could be better, service was fair but food was very good.
Great experience. Would go back.
The owner is beyond personable. He always comes by and she hi. He takes pride in the food and it's a place where I plan to come back
We had a weekday lunch, the everything was excellent.
Love this place!!!! Great food and service. Wait staff are some of the nicest!!! I’ve tried 2 different mussels dishes . Excellent!! Wonderful branzino with Senegalese spices and the best tarte tatin. Definitely recommend this French African.
The food was quite excellent here. Will definitely return. Staff was attentive and the dishes were fresh and delicious. A little pricey, but mostly worth it.
Food (brunch) and ambiance was amazing. Ended up sitting outside sipping on drinks for hours- haha! Looking forward to returning!
This is my second time having lunch here. The French Toast is absolutely the most delicious that I have ever tasted. Look forward to returning.
Late night with my best friend we had a great time. The food was Fantastic. Entertaining and knowledgeable. It was our first time coming but we will definitely come back. Thank you
I've already shared a copy of the menu with friends to alert them of Ponty Bistro. AND look forward to the opportunity to go again.
I love the restaurant and travel there from Queens. I take people there and they are always pleased with the lunch or dinner experience.
I was very displeased with my last experience here. I’ve been to ponty 4 other times and had nothing but good things to say. However, during my last visit my favorite dish, the Africana Muscles, smelt extra fishy and tasted as if they had gone bad. Furthermore, my main brunch dish, Florentine Benedict, was ordered with everyone else’s entree but never came out with the entrees. When I asked where my food was, there was a confused look by the manager who I then watched put my order in, followed by zero apology by the waitress. I received my food once everyone had completed there meal. Very unfortunate experience after I had spoken so highly of this establishment to friends and family. I don’t know what going on Ponty Bistro.
Food is tasty and service is friendly and helpful. 139th Street from Fredrick Douglass Blvd to Adam Clayton Jr. Blvd. is beautiful.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Ponty’s Bistro. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.
Amazing and great ambiance, will definitely be back.
Belated father’s day
Food was on point and the service impeccable. My party sat outside which was the perfect decision on a Sunny Sunday. My oooonly complaint was the lackluster drinks...it was more juice and sugar than alcohol which is a no no in NY. We don't do weak drinks. Otherwise...everything else was phenomenal.
The people at Ponty went out of their way to make sure we were happy. The food was wonderful. The ginger and hibiscus juice drink was amazing. And they paid very close attention to all our requests. Will definitely come back.
I love this place!
Food delicious! My only criticism is that the portions are HUGE!!!! I just hate throwing food away!
The food was excellent. Our table had the wild mushroom risotto and the shrimp, both of which were very good. We shared the artichoke salad which was tasty and definitely enough to share. The atmosphere is pretty casual so the quality of the food was a nice surprise. Noise level was pretty high, I assume because there was a large group in the bar. Will certainly try this place again.
Ponty was great; very welcoming and considering it was Father's Day the noise level and service were excellent. We enjoyed our time there and plan to return soon.
My daughters and I took their father out for Father’s Day. We had a 1:00 pm reservation, did not get seated until 1:30 pm. The food was mediocre, our eggs were over cooked and my daughter waited 15 or more minutes for her food while everyone else had theirs. I got pretty sick afterwards, don’t know if it was the salad or entree that made me sick. Will not be going back again.
As always, Ponty Bistro was exceptional. Busy, loud night with live music. Service was good considering every table was full. Food was fabulous. We strayed from our favorites to a few different entrees. Everything was great. Simply one of the best restaurants in Harlem.
Second time I’ve been there with friends. Doesn’t disappoint. Relaxing food is great and stFf is attentive.
Food came out extremely late (abnormal long wait) and no courtesy adjustment on bill for lateness. Actually, an item ordered that was NEVER received was still placed in the bill.
To be clear the owner is a wonderful man who cares for his customers but this was just poor planning and execution for a busy brunch day!
They MUST do better!
My folks came uptown to visit. We loved it. This place is phenomenal. Great space. Food was exceptional. The best mussels (Africana) I’ve ever had and such rich deep flavor. Entrees were all great. We can’t wait to go back.
I wanted my teenage nieces who had just graduated high school to experience finer dining, so I decided to try Ponty Bistro because I was impressed with the menu. Our appetizers were just ok. The gougeres were visibly burnt on the outside, and their overall texture and taste were off as well. And I love those, so I know what they’re supposed to taste like. The calamari was hot and fresh, but were weirdly served with tarter sauce. I asked for aioli, but was given a sauce that resembled remoulade. When you call a dish Dakar chicken wings, I’m expecting some flavor. But the plain fried wings were completely unseasoned. The pineapple sauce that accompanied them tasted like something from a jar that could be purchased at the grocery store.
Thankfully, our entrees were much better. Two of us had whole Grilled Branzino served with a medley of vegetables. The fish was very fresh and cooked to perfection. The vegetables on top were not as flavorful as I would have expected and as described by the waiter. My young ladies both had pasta dishes with various seafood that they both said they enjoyed.
For the price, I was expecting an exceptional meal. What we got was a sufficient meal.
Delicious food! Great Neighborhood spot. Seated promptly with an option of where to sit. Choose to sit outside since the weather was so nice! Service was on point. Will definitely be back!
Staff food service all exceptional! It's our go-to place!
Amazing food and ambiance.
Made reservations at this neighborhood bistro for 6 adults and 3 small kids for Sunday Brunch. Everything was superb! The table was ready upon our arrival, outdoor and shady as requested. Food and beverage were great quality, while not exactly what we ordered. (Asked for absence of an ingredient, was added to dish anyway.) Very relaxed environment, don't be hangry or in a rush!
While our waitress was excellent, to no fault of her own, our meal took near 45 minutes to arrive.
We were early but were seated immediately. The staff was very attentive and the food was wonderful. We were old friends that were able to leisurely sit and talk never feeling rushed by staff. Definitely a place to go back to
Staff was friendly and food was delicious!!!
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Harlem.
We have had lovely meals at this restaurant in the past and encouraged friends to come uptown to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, this evening was a disaster. None of the appetizers or entrees came out together, so some people had to sit with no food watching other people eat. One of the orders did not arrive at all, and when we asked for it, the staff asked if we had actually ordered that dish. One person substituted salad for fries, and fries were brought with the meal and no salad was brought out at any time. No one offered us a chance to order second drinks or to look at a dessert/coffee menu. This was a big disappointment, and I will not be coming back.
This was my second visit to the Bistro. My first experience was great. This one was disappointing. Service was poor. After waiting for a receptionist, we finally began walking back to the dining area ourselves. Our waitress was pleasant, but inexperienced. The spinach and poisson yassa were good, but the Mussels Africana was a bit off (sauce wasn’t as good as usual). Also, the drinks were a bit off. Finally, after requesting the check once we finally had to ask again 10 minutes later. I would not visit again on a weekday.
A special treat. Great food. Warm ambiance. Service is charming.
The selections of Moules is worth checking out. The Moule Africaine was deliciously spiced and easily shared. Lamb burger was perfectly prepared. Yasser Poulet was satisfying and the fish dishes were splendid. Great bar scene and live music. Having just returned from Senegal we relished listening to Titi. A fab find.
