We went for my birthday, was very disappointed with our server, she was new, which I can understand, but it took us over two hours to be finished with our meal, We ordered a oyster dinner, shrimp dinner, and the seafood platter. After almost an hour of waiting for our food, she then informed us , that you were out of oysters so we had to reorder something else, which we ended up just splitting the two other platters and ordering an additional appetizer so we wouldn't have to wait another hour since she said ours were already being prepared. We didn't want to start eating without our son's food. She forgot the salads and the soups that came with the dinners , forgot the additional plate, never refilled our waters and never even asked if we wanted more water or anything else for that matter. We watched as others were seated, served and left while we waited. Our dessert came and it was cold ,we had bread pudding, so we asked to have it heated, came back a molten mess. We usually make this our go to restaurant, so we know how the food is suppose to be presented and how it should taste, the whole experience just wasn't up to par.

Wife ordered stuffed flounder fillet and stuffed potato. The flounder and the baked potato were burnt. We should have sent it back. I have photo. Chef should never have sent that plate out. Waitress was fantastic. Very disappointed in our food experience.

Ive been going here since I was a kid, 60 years ago & they alway impress me with their outstanding service & awesome food. We are from Lake Charles but continue to go & bring friends. Everyone we bring is impressed.

Always good food at Riverside. This trip left some things to be desired from a service standpoint. Waiter was very personable but seemed stretched too thin to handle all the tables he had. We waited unusually long periods of time between waiter check-ins and he even forgot our appetizer order until reminded 15 minutes after we ordered it. Sad, because we even wanted to (and ultimately did) order a second bottle of wine but were out of food and the comped birthday dessert with more than half the bottle left. I hate to come down on Spencer, the waiter, because the delays may have been with the expediter or kitchen, but not knowing almost made the disappointment more magnified. I even felt compelled to take my bill directly to the front register after it sat with my credit card on the table for another 10 minutes. For this visit: Food 10, Service 5. Sorry, Riverside Inn. Be ready for busy Friday evenings.

Riverside Inn has always been one of our favorite restaurants in Lafayette. An outstanding menu that is full of variety and rarely changes. Delicious, fresh seafood dishes. Excellent service you can always count on. These are the main reasons we love Riverside Inn.

Had not been to Riverside since the pandemic and the food was DELICIOUS as always. My old aunt who is now deceased loved the crabmeat au gratin. Made reservations for Mother’s Day.

We made a 7:30 reservation and were told they would get a table ready when they could. We weren’t seated until 35 minutes later. Food was excellent, service was good but she was very busy, and it was a little noisy in the room. But we left late since we got seated so late.

Overall experience very good. We were a little disappointed that although we had a reservation at 7, we weren’t seated until 7:45. Service was a little slow, but that seems typical for most restaurants these days. Food was very good.

I usually go to Riverside for weekday lunches, and this was the first time we went there for dinner. The food was delicious as always, there was a nice crowd, and they even served us complimentary champagne since it was New Year’s Eve. I highly recommend both the sautéed crab meat and stuffed shrimp. We will definitely order both again.

Best seafood! We had a festive holiday dinner for 4: catfish bites to start, crabmeat imperial, crabcakes, flounder and catfish poboy. Raspberry cheesecake and sweet potato beignets. Every dish was perfectly done. Excellent service.

I have been going to Poor Boys Riverside Inn since the 1960’s, and in all those years I can say I have never been disappointed. This time was no different, and was very very good. I have noticed a reduction in portion sizes recently, and I’m sure that is due to inflation and trying to stay at a reasonable price point. But you still get an excellent quality plate and we did not leave hungry. Highly recommend for delicious Cajun food.

Delicious drink and food. Extremely friendly bartender and waitstaff made for a really nice experience. The portions were smaller than I remembered, but were quite adequate. The grilled oysters were flavorful, but could have had more sauce on them for dipping. The stuffed flounder fillet was so fresh and laden with a crab stuffed filling. My wife’s crab platter was outstanding! So many flavorful takes on crabmeat: from crab salad and gumbo to crabmeat etoufee and crabmeat imperial. Don’t miss out on this traditional Lafayette seafood experience! AND they have catered take out orders ready for purchase as well!

WONDERFUL service but $50 for a filet that took three times to get right is not worth it. We will go back and request the same server but I won’t be ordering steak. The redfish was amazing and the house salad dressing is awesome!!!!
