   Riverside Inn has always been one of our favorite restaurants in Lafayette. An outstanding menu that is full of variety and rarely changes. Delicious, fresh seafood dishes. Excellent service you can always count on. These are the main reasons we love Riverside Inn.

   Had not been to Riverside since the pandemic and the food was DELICIOUS as always. My old aunt who is now deceased loved the crabmeat au gratin. Made reservations for Mother’s Day.

    We made a 7:30 reservation and were told they would get a table ready when they could. We weren’t seated until 35 minutes later. Food was excellent, service was good but she was very busy, and it was a little noisy in the room. But we left late since we got seated so late.

    Overall experience very good. We were a little disappointed that although we had a reservation at 7, we weren’t seated until 7:45. Service was a little slow, but that seems typical for most restaurants these days. Food was very good.

    I usually go to Riverside for weekday lunches, and this was the first time we went there for dinner. The food was delicious as always, there was a nice crowd, and they even served us complimentary champagne since it was New Year’s Eve. I highly recommend both the sautéed crab meat and stuffed shrimp. We will definitely order both again.

    Best seafood! We had a festive holiday dinner for 4: catfish bites to start, crabmeat imperial, crabcakes, flounder and catfish poboy. Raspberry cheesecake and sweet potato beignets. Every dish was perfectly done. Excellent service.

    I have been going to Poor Boys Riverside Inn since the 1960’s, and in all those years I can say I have never been disappointed. This time was no different, and was very very good. I have noticed a reduction in portion sizes recently, and I’m sure that is due to inflation and trying to stay at a reasonable price point. But you still get an excellent quality plate and we did not leave hungry. Highly recommend for delicious Cajun food.

    Delicious drink and food. Extremely friendly bartender and waitstaff made for a really nice experience. The portions were smaller than I remembered, but were quite adequate. The grilled oysters were flavorful, but could have had more sauce on them for dipping. The stuffed flounder fillet was so fresh and laden with a crab stuffed filling. My wife’s crab platter was outstanding! So many flavorful takes on crabmeat: from crab salad and gumbo to crabmeat etoufee and crabmeat imperial. Don’t miss out on this traditional Lafayette seafood experience! AND they have catered take out orders ready for purchase as well!

    WONDERFUL service but $50 for a filet that took three times to get right is not worth it. We will go back and request the same server but I won’t be ordering steak. The redfish was amazing and the house salad dressing is awesome!!!!

    It was a birthday treat for my friend. She really enjoyed her meal , so did I. The service was really great and our waitress was warm and enteric . My only concern was the fact that there was no sanitation put in place with the Covid still lingering. There was no wipe down after the guess left there tables and the building has an old old smell.

    This restaurant had gotten good reviews on Open Table so we decided to give it a try. Bad decision! Hands down this was the WORST meal/dining experience my spouse & I have ever had! Our reservation was @ 8 pm. The bar is the first room you walk into upon entering the restaurant & there was not even 1 customer in the bar. That should’ve been a red flag that something was “off” about this place. We walked into the dining room & there were many empty tables. We ordered & split the stuffed mushroom appetizer & a shrimp platter. (We had wanted to order boiled shrimp but they didn’t offer that). The stuffed mushrooms appetizer was just okay & honestly we should’ve paid our bill & left after that! For the main course the waitress had told us the shrimp platter was alot of food & we wanted to sample all the items on the platter. When the platter arrived, it did not look appetizing at all! The fried shrimp were very small & didn’t look freshly fried. The stuffing on the stuffed shrimp was terrible & we each ate only a couple of bites. The shrimp au gratin came in a small foil container & was not tasty. None of the food appeared to be freshly fried or prepared. Every item appeared to us as though it had come pre-made & frozen from a distributor & all the restaurant did was put it in the oven or microwave for a few minutes to heat it up. We don’t know if that is the case but that is how it seemed. The entire meal was of poor quality. We will not go back to this restaurant!
