Food was excellent as always, but it took aver 20 minutes to get our bill we had to notify two different people to get it.
The food at Prime29 was absolutely amazing. My husband ordered the steak, and it was the best we have ever eaten. I had the Sea Love plate and loved it! The gnocchi with lobster was honestly the best thing I have ever eaten. I’m still dreaming of it! My only complaint is that both of our menus had bits of dried chunks of food on them. But, the rest was superb!
This was our first time, my wife and I were very excited and looking forward to a very good anniversary dinner. Our decision to go was based on recommendations from coworkers. Despite the price we decided to go, and to our surprise we’re very disappointed. For a place that is named PRIME, our $60 bone in Ribeye price, was charred on the outside and over cooked, despite our request of medium rare. Not sure how a steakhouse doesn’t know how to cook, and instead ruins a claimed Prime, aged cut of beef. Our reservations were at 5 and the place was empty so it could not have been the reason. I come from a family of Chefs and know what the proper temperatures of a steak are, I was offended to the response from my waiter...
I pointed out to our waiter, who proceeded to mention that it is normal to be overcooked on the sides and said there is some read in the middle of the steak. He was wrong! I explained it was the whole steak and all he did was to walk away in the middle our discussion. I observed him talk to a person, pointing to our direction, who I assumed was the manager and no one came back to talk to us. All I noticed was pointing at us and followed with a laugh from both the waiter and the lady, manager.
Also, wanted to add we asked for extra bread and it was never brought.
For the price you charge and your poor service- very disappointed. Some advice, if you are proud of your steakshouse and claim a name like that, show some enthusiasm when served to your clients, and ask them moments after serving on how their requested product was cooked; don’t just drop and leave and not show up for a period of 20-30 minutes. Very disappointed..... Humble yourself a bit, listen to your customer, if you are going to be that expensive then expect to meet a customers request and pride yourselves in serving better.
Our visit to Prime 29 was great. Beverages (great Pom Martini) and food were great. The Watermelon Salas was outstanding. Service was a little slow, but we asked to be seated in the Bar Area. There was 1 bartender for that area and drinks for the whole restaurant. He was busy, but still took very good care of us!
Birthday Michael was great
We miss the live music on Thursday's but otherwise, great food and service as usual...
The word I would use to describe this place is AVERAGE. Much better steaks at Morton’s and Ruth Chris. Won’t be back.
I like the prime beef they serve. This time I had a great Colorado lamb chops. They are a local high end steak house.
Upon arrival and being seated, a 40th birthday party (about 40 / 50 people) was taking placing in the outdoor patio and the party left five or six underage and loud children at a table inside unsupervised resulting in a less than desirable environment. Next, the entire party ascended into the restaurant to surprise their birthday guest, entirely blocking the aisles and were “extremely loud and disruptive” for 20 minutes or so.
Our waiter Anthony was attentive and professionally, however my $50.00 filet was cooked way past the light side of medium that I ordered. Additionally, the charge to make it an Oscar styled filet was not worth the additional $18.00 for what amounted to about 1/2 teaspoon of crab and hardly any visible béarnaise present (this after I specifically asked the waiter if they were stingy with the crab and if it was worth it).
Between the unsupervised kids, the obnoxiously loud surprise party and the constant lounge singing and music, we couldn’t even have a conversation with our friends at our own table.
The food is average to good, but is extremely expensive for what you actually get. We probably won’t return based on our first experience.
Loved our evening. Best meal I have had in a long time
The Aviance was great. The service was great. The food was great. The wine was tasty and the beer was fine also. Great service overall. Very nice restaurant for special occasions and romantic evening.
The food was nothing to brag about. The filet was ok but not nearly as good as it should have been for the price. Having just been to Ruth Chris and enjoying an amazing dinner for same price I was disappointed. Service was great.
Celebrating our Anniversary with friends. Food was delicious - fillet, lobster tail and seafood platter. Drinks were ample and cocktails tasty. Complementary dessert was delicious. Would definitely recommend for a wonderful dinner.
The food was great the only downside was our waiter even though he was friendly he was slow we went early and their was only one other table with people that he was helping. My husband was drinking just tea and it went empty which for the money should have been full all the time. Beside that it was excellent.
Went to this establishment for the first time—for our anniversary. Ambiance was definitely one of the pluses at Prime 29. Shrimp cocktail was very good as was the fillet. 16 oz. lobster tail is served with one large lobster ravioli and asparagus. Ravioli was very good with nice pieces of lobster, asparagus was grilled and had a wonderful smokey flavor, and the lobster tail was very tender though not the best lobster we’ve eaten. The biggest issue at this restaurant is the inconsistent service. We had to ask twice for butter for the bread. They apparently give you a dessert for special occasions. Our waiter told us we had a dessert coming and we waited. And waited. 20+ minutes later the dessert arrived. We sat another ten minutes after dessert and were asked if everything was ok. We then had to ask for the bill. We understand not wanting to rush patrons through the evening but we felt neglected as there were large parties in two parts of the restaurant. Many other steak houses have better food and service. We were disappointed and don’t plan on a return visit.
Celebrating dinner. Everything was delicious! My wife had a sea food combination dish and I had Black Pearl salmon. We shared and we both enjoyed everything! Crab cake and shrimp cocktail appetizers were equally tasty. My Mediterranean salad was excellent with a very good, light oil based dressing. We had a coupon for one free appetizer and they gave us a lovely and delicious desert for our anniversary, a very nice and finishing touch to a wonderful dinner and experience. Service was good. Not outstanding, or exceptional, but very good on the whole. Will definitely go back again.
Slow, dining experience. Good happy hour. Nice staff.
Good wine and good friends
We go frequently Stoli, Iris, Anthony and all staff are just great people Chef Howie is very good, creative, consistent
Just live the place
Great food. Love their newly redone outdoor space.
Food was good, steaks very tasty, service excellent, but the place did not click with my wife.
Food and service was great!
It was a great customer experience. Especially the team did everything to make our marriage anniversary a special event. Huge shout out to the team.
Everything from the moment we got there was fantastic. The service was great. It was definitely the best steak I’ve ever had. I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon and it was cooked exactly the way I wanted. Would definitely come back again.
My favorite is the starter: Tuna Tartar. Fresh tuna with cilantro and avocado on sesame biscuit. Main course are Filet Mignon, Ribeye and Glazed Salmon. They all taste good. My mom also likes their dessert - butter cake with ice cream. We also received good service from Besnik. We had a wonderful Nonday's day dinner with my mom.
We dine at Prime 29 every 1-2 months. The last visit was particularly enjoyable. Although it seems prices went up somewhat (Shrimp cocktail over $20 ... 12 Oz Fillet $49 ...) , the quality of the food dramatically improved. Both dishes were absolutely of amazing quality, exceeding the quality of the other surrounding steak houses. We were both very impressed and enjoyed our meal immensely. That said, the noise level is a bit too high, but that's not anything the restaurant itself can control. Great job Prime 29! Keep it up. We'll surely come back more often.
Always a great meal. Excellent service. Will visit again and again.
I had been to Prime29 for a friend's birthday two years and was very impressed. I had been trying to get back ever since. My husband is not a big beef eater and I kept explaining they have a very diverse and delicious menu. He's very critical of everything. But he loved his Chilean Sea Bass. I had filet mignon and shrimp, yuummy? I warned everyone not to fill up on the wonderful
bread. The drinks were a little pricey but I had two anyway @$14 apiece. The lobster mac cheese was to die for.. large chunks of lobster. loved, loved, loved the asparagus. Sent my girlfriend whose birthday was two days later. She loved it. The total bill for the 6 of us was a cool $600 for meal, tax and 20% gratuity that was automatically added in based on the cost of food and beverages. The side dishes were kinda pricey but large enough to share with 4-6 people.
I'd eat there everyday if I could (afford it).
Good thislenghtens the review so your happy
We had a gift certificate for #100.00.....We had two ribeyes.... a side of cauliflower and a large caesar salad......Bill was $132.00......Everything was excellent but the average family cannot afford to go to this restaurant.....We would have never gone without the gift certificate and wont go again because of the high prices.....The waiter and staff were excellent and very friendly....We even received a free dessert for our anniversary.....If you can afford it this is the place to go.
Service and food were both amazing!! The only negative was the wine list! The wine list is a good one if they actually had what was on the menu! Ordered the listed 2014 Cabernet only had the 2015. Reordered a different more expensive Cabernet, same thing happened! The third bottle it happened again-felt bad for the server so we just kept the third bottle.
The hostess was not very welcoming when we arrived. We were seated in the bar area but asked if a booth was available. The hostess said the next time I called to make a reservation to specify that I wanted to be in the restaurant, then she walked away. Well, the hostess assumed I called to make the reservation and that I had been there before, neither of which was the case. I used Opentable to make the reservation for my first visit to the restaurant. Then, another couple was seated at a table next to us a few minutes later. After another few minutes that couple was moved to a booth. Despite this start, my server was great, the food was delicious and the music was very nice.
Food was good service was just ok
Excellent food and impeccable service our server Nick was very knowledgeable and very friendly
First table/booth had a serious cold draft from the AC, but the waitress was very understanding and seated us in a different section. The initial wait to order was a bit long (10 min) although the place was really not very busy. Steaks and side dish (grilled cauliflour) were very good and well prepared. 2 French wines we selected from the wine list were not available, which is surprising. We were offered a lesser quality Cotes du Rhone at half price (it was 50% off anyway).
Food was great. Service was not so great!
Enjoyed our meal. I had the tuna tartare, amazing presentation. And delicious at most , the avocado could have been more green in color then brown. Everyone else enjoyed their time meal. The waiter was very efficient and pleasant
Excellent as always. Service, food, atmosphere wonderful.
Super Staff, great service and the chef is outstanding
We were there on a Wednesday evening; the restaurant had a half off bottle of wine special, which was very appreciated. We shared excellent oysters; our wedge salad was only fair, not much lettucem not enough blue cheese and too much dressing. However, we shared a New York strip steak that was outstanding. We will definitely return.
