Promenade Cafe and Wine
French comfort food and local ingredients is the basis ever-changing seasonal menus. Our restaurant menu focuses on Winnipeg's local and French community in our restaurant menu.
The inspiration for the dishes range from local ingredients, tradition of the Francophone French Community of Winnipeg and comfort food preparations.
We are dedicated to utilizing local and regional products wherever possible in our dishes. The is nothing premade in our Winnipeg restaurant including all of our scratch made desserts. You will certainly see this reflected in the freshness and quality of our French cuisine.
Came in for brunch sunday afternoon , service was great. Food was good. mmmm quiche. That chocolate fluffy dessert was amazing. Been here many times and will be back many more.
Service was great. Entree was awesome. Dessert was a little off but still tasty.
Exceptional service from the waitress, sorry we did not get her name. Food was fantastic. This was our first visit and we will definitely return. The views of the Forks are nice. Ask for a window seat when you reserve.
of course, have recommended this venue to several of my friends, one of my favourite places for breakfast
Everything was delicious and hot. The coffee as always perfect. It was a little slow getting our meals but the restaurant was busy.
Came for breakfast and it did not disappoint. All of us loved our meals and the service was quick and friendly. Small and cozy place in a great location.
We enjoyed the menu of French foods. The ambiance was nice. We dined early enough to get some beautiful daylight and western sun through the windows.
Whenever we go here for breakfast, it’s always Emily that takes care of us. She is professional, efficient and very personable. That along with very good food at a fair price makes it all a winning combination. Try the jams - they are fantastic. Highly recommended overall.
Very nice!! The perfect spot for a late lunch. The service was first rate, and the food was hot, fresh and very enjoyable. Will definitely eat here again... perhaps the next time we'll try the breakfast menu. Highly recommended.
My friend and I went in the evening. Had a great time with great food and excellent service!
We were visiting from North Dakota to see the Canadian Museum of Human Rights. Promenade was within easy walking distance and had a great reputation online. We made reservations for a late lunch after our museum visit and were not disappointed. Great menu & great food in a cozy, friendly environment. Thank you, Promenade, for making our visit to Winnipeg even more memorable.
Food was excellent. I had the special offered for lunch. Still remember how flavorful it was
Great area of city, welcoming decor, comfort food. All group size accommodating. Clean, sunny.
Breakfast with friends, enjoyed our experience very much and would have a return visit soon
Overall our experience was very pleasant. The mussels were outstanding and both meals very good.
Two issues ,I mentioned on open table that it is a birthday celebration.I realize there were only two of us but we arrived at 6 pm to an almost empty restaurant. The hostess wanted to seat us right by the door ?not acceptable. She seemed upset but asked someone and we then sat two tables further inside.
Also we each had a glass of St.Margerita Pino Grigio .As this is a very inexpensive wine we were shocked at the $15 price for 6 ounces. We did not notice price and certainly would not order wine there again.
The waitress was very nice and helpful in choosing our dishes.
Personally this was my second visit, 1st lunch. I was hoping for better. Ordered the club house, it was fine, fries were very soggy. One of the servers asked if there was something wrong with them, to which I replied that they were soggy. She said she'd see about getting us a credit on our bill. Our original server showed up a little later with a new order of fries. We quickly declined as we never asked for them. Got our bill, no credit. Also note that the wine prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY high. A 2oz pour of a California wine for $8, is ridiculous.
The food was absolutely delicious. Our table had Nutella/strawberry crepe, berry compote crepe, French toast and an omelette (as a gluten free/celiac safe option). The food came fast and was phenomenal. Highly recommend.
One of my favourite restaurants. Food is good. Am a vegetarian so additional vegetarian dishes would be welcomed by me, although they already have enough to keep me coming back.
I met a friend to catch up after not seeing her for 2 years. We wanted a small lunch and quiet time to visit. Our food was very good and the waiter was attentive but not overly attentive. We will definitely be back !
Food and service was very good. The table we had was in a corner and it felt like we were squished into a very small space. There wasn’t even enough room to drape my coat over the back of the chair.
Our dining experience was excellent! Food, service, and suggested choices were dead on! The table where we sat was a little drafty and chilly. That was ok because my loose leaf camomile tea warmed me up!
We had a wonderful time at Promenade Cafe and Wine. It is always a great dining experience!
Nice ambience. Service overall was good. Server was pleasant. Didn’t feel rushed, which was nice. Food was mediocre.
We called last minute to change reservation from 2 - 3 people and they where quick to accommodate, food was very good, service was good the waitress did seem to be rushed. all in all a very good meal and nice place to eat
Lovely atmosphere. Tasty food. Not super hot.
Mediocre food. Food was bland. Potatoes for breakfast looks like puke!
The ambience was comfortable. The room temperature a little chilly, but the service was warm and cheerful. The bison burger and fries were cooked to our liking albeit a bit over salted. Crispy lettuce and tomatoes with freshbun were a big bonus.
Good food, good service Prices quite reasonable
We have been at Promenade numerous times before and we will go again
A bit chilly by the window. The view was wonderful though.
Stellar food at an excellent price in a charming venue with excellent service. One couldn't ask for more!
This place is a gem. Great food at a reasonable price. The view is spectacular. Reminds me of the quaint cafes in Paris!
Very pleasant dinner celebrating a siblings birthday with our spouses. Service was just the right amount of attention and allowing us to sit and chat comfortably over and after dinner and feel like we were welcome to enjoy ourselves in a relaxed manner. Will definitely be back for other occasions.
I go to Promenade Café quite often especially with business associates. Very good food - always friendly and professional service - price is in line with the type of restaurant - would recommend as a very good spot for business lunch. Could be a little tight on time for those wishing to dine within their lunch hour but again I choose this restaurant because of quality.
We have enjoyed several breakfasts in the last few months here and it’s usually very. On this visit the food was cold and not prepared very well. Very disappointing and may not return.
We had dinner on Feb 16 with friends who had never been to the Bistro. As always, the service and food at Promenade was excellent. I had the bison tourtiere pie-fabulous! And thank you for not skimping on the gravy :)!
My husband and I dine out frequently and Promenade is definitely in my top 3!
Kind regards, April Forgo
excellent place to eat.Food is prepared nice and the flavours are excellent
We always enjoy our dinners at Promenade Café and Wine and have recommended it to others. It has become our go to place for special couple occasions. I would give it an overall 4 stars - it has great ambiance with its large windows overlooking an always picturesque view, no matter the season. Service is professional and prompt, the food is chef inspired and it is a quiet intimate space. Thumbs up!
Hi there, we had a table of four for a Tuesday night. Our server was outstanding and the atmosphere was great. The kitchen was off a bit this evening. On one hand, they were kind enough to make a chicken club from the lunch menu for dinner which was greatly appreciated. On the other hand, the mandolin shoestring cut frites for the Poutine was way overcooked and the ones on the club sandwich platter were splinters. The waitress did mention they were like hickory sticks and if that was the intent with the preparation then fresh oil and a keen eye is required. I would definitely go back and give this another shot as anything can happen in a busy kitchen. Looking forward to giving it another shot in the near future.
Food was good, but not great. Service was good, location is excellent!
