Promenade Cafe and Wine
French comfort food and local ingredients is the basis ever-changing seasonal menus. Our restaurant menu focuses on Winnipeg's local and French community in our restaurant menu.
The inspiration for the dishes range from local ingredients, tradition of the Francophone French Community of Winnipeg and comfort food preparations.
We are dedicated to utilizing local and regional products wherever possible in our dishes. The is nothing premade in our Winnipeg restaurant including all of our scratch made desserts. You will certainly see this reflected in the freshness and quality of our French cuisine.
We arrived at the restaurant to find it closed even though we had a confirmed reservation.
Had the eggs Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was perfect temperature and big portions. One of my favourite breakfast places
The food was very good and our server was lovely. We enjoyed the French press coffee and loose leaf tea. The outdoor atmosphere was lacking because of the barricades and make shift umbrella holders that rattled in the wind. We sat right next to our own parked car. Lots of traffic on the street made it quite loud. Both criticisms are things that are hard to avoid so I wouldn't judge them too harshly on that! I would still go again for the delicious Florentine omelette and potatoes!
Service was amazing, Food was Fantastic! Will go back again!
My friend and I always enjoy eating at Promenade Bistro. The food is excellent, service is friendly and good and it’s nice to be able to reserve the table you want.
It's really too soon to say. Desserts - at least of the features - were not fresh. And enforced distancing made for a relatively lonely experience. Staff were keen to put a brave face on.
First dinner date since Covid hit. We chose well
It is my first time in Winnipeg. The waiter Nick gave me a free coffee. You can see Red River from my table. Their bison tourtiere is very dreamy.
Service and food was excellent!
Our waiter was amazing. Can not remember his name but he was very knowledgeable and courteous.
I ordered the Mediterranean breakfast, but asked for whole wheat bread with no garlic butter as opposed to garlic toast, and was told no problem. It came back with white toast, buttered. I asked her again to have whole wheat bread and she brought back an order buttered and said it would be an extra charge. I told her i had wanted it dry and not to worry about bringing g another order. Crossed wires, but was not impressed. Otherwise food was good, but a bit crowded. I will probably still give it another chance.
Lovely brunch! Service was great and we really enticed the food. (Only thing I was left wanting was a non-dairy milk for coffee/tea).
Excellent, hot food. Friendly, knowledgeable servers. Coffee is superb!
half the table came out cold and was a common problem around the restaurant that day
Best kept secret. Coffee is included in cost breakfasts, so not another $3!!!! All food great. Ambience special, consistent. Tons of speciality, custom and home made stuff . Gourmet food at fast food prices.
Was often looking for the waitress, she was too busy in another area?
Good food good service
Food was good and the service great!!
Waitress lovely but did not understand English easily. She did not check back after few bites and dessert not available for lunch which was disappointing.. the food we did have was great.
The absolute best place for breakfast. The ambience, the service, the food, outstanding!!
Best mussels and fries in Winnipeg. Make sure you order a loaf of their fantastic bread to dip in the sauce.
Promenade has become a favorite restaurant. Their fine menu has many unique, well prepared dishes, that are served by many friendly staff. I look forward to eating there each visit I make to Winnipeg.
Took my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. Set menu was delicious and filling, ensure you go with an empty stomach. Fantastic view of the bridge and the CMHR. It was the first day of Festival du Voyageur so a number of the staff had sashes round their waist (as did the candles in the windowsill). Both our server as well as the other staff who walked by were all very friendly, funny, considerate, informative, and overall pleasant to be around. Truly a lovely experience. Quite pricey but well worth it.
Our Valentine's dinner was a memorable evening. The food was great and so was our waiter. We thoroughly enjoyed every course. We will certainly be going to this restaurant again and will certainly want to go to any specialty evenings they are having.
Wonderful, the food was delicious and the service great!
The server was attentive but not intrusive. She had a very pleasant demeanour.
Food was excellent. The mussels were the best I have ever had. Service by Mike was excellent.
Excellent ambiance. Good wine menu. Moule et Frites fabulous!
Excellent service. Great coffee.
The food was good but not very hot
Really great service. Great food ! Would definitely go back
Well done. Will definitely return. Phenomenal coffee and food!
Everything was very nice. The mussels, lamb and pork tenderloin were excellent.
Our server was attentive ,ambience pleasant.Poached eggs perfect ,nice bacon toast jam.The potatoes were a major disappointment.Big chunks of potatoes ,barely heated ,not crispy ,were neither hash browns or properly fried .A small portion of good potatoes would have been nice as we left most of them.
Wonderful dinner! Great food with one of the best views in the city!
mykel was a wonderful waiter! the food was good (a bit expensive but i don’t have much money to begin with). the rose was the best i’ve had. the atmosphere is quiet and nice for a romantic date.
We made our reservations for 10am and by 1040am they were asking if we would be much longer because there was another reservation for our table...when there was an empty table the same size beside us. Our server was excellent though but the other lady was kinda rude and ruined my first time experience there.
The special, a turkey quiche, was dry and cold. The citrus cake dessert was tasteless. This was an expensive lunch but the experience was mediocre at best.
My mother’s 82nd birthday.
The French onion soup was great. Two out of four main courses were overcooked that is the lamb and the trout....a little disappointing. The creme brûlée was certainly not the best I have had. We are in no rush to return.
The onion soup is great. I enjoyed the boeuf Bourguignon very much. And my wife enjoyed the duck. One young lady at a table beside us was quite loud and that interfered with the otherwise pleasant ambience.
My son and his girlfriends birthday.
